I haven't spent a lot of time in Excel, but I work in the IT field so I'm fairly comfortable with computers. I'm sure I could figure out the ins and outs of Excel pretty quickly.
Basically, I'm trying to get my hands on a decent Spreadsheet for tracking bet history. I'm looking for something pretty simple. I suppose having one for each sport would be best. The layout would be something like this...
One column for each of the following pieces of information: the date, what the wager actually was (team/individual and whether the bet type was a spread, ML, O/U, etc), the amount of the wager (dollar amount), the outcome of the wager (+ or - and the dollar amount), and then the total running bank roll after the said amount has been added to, or subtracted from it.
With the number of bettors there are, a spreadsheet this simple must be floating around somewhere. Sure I'll geek things up some day in the future and bust out a full MySQL database for tracking this stuff, but I want to start getting things down in Excel now. This is my first real year of "serious" betting and I think it's a huge disadvantage if you don't really know where you're taking hits, where you may have a niche, and where you stand overall.
Any other thoughts on this? Are there any obvious (or....not so obvious) things that I've failed to mention that would be a good addition to the "recipe" for this spreadsheet? All help is appreciated!
