Thursday Update

OAK - No practice for RB Josh Jacobs

Oakland Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 18.

It's looking like Jacobs will not be able to go in Week 16. That would mean DeAndre Washington would get a featured role for the Raiders. If that's the case, Washington has RB2 upside in the championship round. Make sure Jacobs is not going to play against the Chargers before you plug in Washington.

CLE - WR Odell Beckham says he will return in 2020

Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. said he will be with the Browns next season and expects the offense to figure things out.

They need to get Beckham healthy and keep him healthy if they want to see the best from the veteran superstar receiver. Beckham has been battling a groin injury all season and has disappointed with his production. We'll see if he actually wants to stay or if something gets him moved from the Browns.

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (shoulder) was officially limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 18.

Prescott is a little banged up but this should not be an injury that keeps him out of action in Week 16. The Cowboys travel to face the Eagles on Sunday. Prescott will be a QB1 for Fantasy GMs as per usual in the championship week.

Miles Sanders will be their lead back and a RB1/RB2 for Fantasy GMs while Boston Scott has plenty of flex appeal as a change-of-pace back behind Sanders.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green said he didn't like the idea of the franchise tag, but he wouldn't sit out to avoid playing under it.

Green is set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2020. The Bengals could give him a new deal, franchise tag him or let him walk. Perhaps a team that is close will want to add Green for a good price to put them over the top.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook may sit next two weeks

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (shoulder) is 'in a good place mentally' and expected to play for the Vikings in the playoffs, but his status for Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers is 'very much in doubt,' according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. According to Rapoport, his status for Week 17 versus the Chicago Bears could hinge on if Minnesota needs to win in order to make the postseason.

Cook is looking like he's going to sit this week. But he's not giving up hope yet. And even if he goes in Week 17, he might not be very trustworthy. Mike Boone could be the best Vikings back to have over the next two weeks.

This move was fully expected, and we're excited to see what the rookie can do. Grier had a gun-slinger mentality in college at West Virginia, but he was mostly bad in the preseason. Grier starting nerfs the expectations for guys like D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel. Adjust your lineup accordingly.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (shoulder) told reporters Thursday, Dec. 19, that he'll be 'good to go Sunday,' but that he might not throw until Saturday, Dec. 21. Prescott also revealed that he dealt with the same injury multiple times during his senior year in college.

Prescott carries more risk but is still probably a QB1 this week. This does make it easier to break ties against parts of the Cowboys passing game, but it is still the Eagles secondary and that could end up being more important than Prescott's injury.

The Broncos are preparing as if Johnson will return to the field this week. The Lions don't have a much of a commitment to running the ball, and the Broncos defense is tough against the run. Johnson could start, but we'd only consider him a deep 'what the heck' flex in Week 16.

A downgrade on Saturday is a bit unnerving, especially since Henry practiced fully on Friday. Fantasy GMs need to have Dion Lewis ready in case Henry is determined to be a late scratch on Sunday. We're seeing this as a pretty negative sign. Fortunately, it's a 1:00 PM ET kickoff time so we'll have official word about 11:30 AM ET Sunday.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston's future with the team hasn't been decided, according to head coach Bruce Arians Saturday, Dec. 21.

You can't spell Winston without INT...and the former No.1 overall pick threw four interceptions on Saturday against the Texans. Winston now has 28 interceptions in 2019 and the team has to decide whether or not they'll keep him around on a new contract. He played on his fifth-year option in 2019 and is set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2020. 'There's been no decision on any player. We don't make those decisions until the end of the season,' Arians said.
