ARI - Greatness forecast for Kyler Murray

    Source: NFL.com - Grant Gordon

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray will enjoy immediate NFL success in the opinion of teammate David Johnson. 'He's going to be great,' Johnson said Wednesday, June 12 on Sirius XM Radio. 'It's going to be scary for D-linemen. I remember I was just talking to Chandler (Jones), he has to kind of hesitate when he chases [Murray] down. ... People are really underestimating his ability to throw. He can throw dimes and he can throw the ball down the field, he's been throwing it deep to Christian (Kirk), to those guys in the OTAs... these defenses are going to have to definitely practice against a scrambler like him.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

As with anything, consider the source. In this case, it's the running back forecasting greatness for his rookie quarterback. Murray has incredible fantasy potential with freedom as a runner and passer in a scheme that should keep defenses off balance, especially early in the season. At this point though, it's just potential. We're excited to see if he can deliver.

PHI - WR DeSean Jackson embracing leadership role

    Source: NJ.com - Zack Rosenblatt

Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson has been embracing his role as a veteran and leader this offseason, according to Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com. The 32-year-old was present for all but one session of voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) practices. 'He's done everything we've asked him to do,' receivers coach Carson Walch said. 'He's been great in the meeting room. Some of our young guys sometimes are in awe seeing DeSean Jackson in our building.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson was a fantasy WR1 with Ryan Fitzpatrick last year, but it seems the fantasy community is still underestimating him. He has reportedly already developed excellent chemistry with Wentz and should be drafted a lot earlier than he is lasting right now.

NO - RB Alvin Kamara has more to prove

Source: Daily Advertiser - Glenn Guilbeau

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara will be tasked with an expanded role in 2019 with the departure of backfield mate Mark Ingram. 'I'm so anxious to see like, 'What else?'' Kamara said recently. 'You know what I'm saying? What else could I do? Where else could I line up? How else could I be successful? That's the best part of this profession for me. What's the next step you're going to take? 'Ok, he was good last year. How are you going to prove that you are what you are?''

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kamara has a shot to be the #1 overall fantasy running back with a larger role this year. He is in a very stable offense and probably has the least risk any of the top four backs.

PHI - Philly will take it slow with Miles Sanders

    Source: NJ.com - Zack Rosenblatt

Philadelphia Eagles rookie RB Miles Sanders will be brought along slowly in training camp, according to head coach Doug Pederson, after missing all of organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp due to a hamstring injury. 'I fully expect him to come in ready, come in healthy, ready to go,' Pederson said. 'We have to get him in the mix early. Definitely have to see exactly where he is mentally from all the mental reps that he took this spring, and slowly work him into the mix and see just how he can help us on game day.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanders redraft stock has been hurt by his inability to practice and Jordan Howard's chances for relevance early in the season have gone up in direct proportion. Sanders may matter by the end of the season via injury to another Eagles back, pure talent, or the efficiency of the offense, but Howard might be the better redraft pick right now.

ARI - WR Christian Kirk a quick study

    Source: Cardinals.com - Mike Jurecki

Arizona Cardinals WR Christian Kirk is displaying a 'good feel' for the offense under new head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kirk has the highest ceiling of any receiver in what should be an explosive Cardinals offense. He has a chance to catch 100+ passes and become Kyler Murray's favorite in short order. Kirk should be on your short list of mid-round wide receiver targets.

CIN - WR Cody Core back on the field

    Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson

Cincinnati Bengals WR Cody Core (elbow) has been able to participate in minicamp.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Core will be battling with Auden Tate, Josh Malone and UDFA Stanley Morgan for a roster spot that could be only a John Ross injury away from playing time. He has mainly been a special teams contributor since being selected in the sixth round in 2016.

      Tuesday Update

LAR - Trainer confirms RB Todd Gurley's arthritic knee

Source: Yahoo - Shalise Manza Young

Updating previous reports. Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) is in fact dealing with arthritis in his knee after months of speculation. Travelle Gaines, who has trained Gurley for three years, suggested 'not one thing has changed' in regards to his client and that 'our routine has worked, he's been strong, he's been in great shape, he's done well.' Gaines went on to say the decision this offseason to have Gurley drop six pounds and trim his body fat from 10 percent to seven was not due to injuries and more to accentuate his speed. The trainer also said 'it's never been told to me' that the Rams plan on decreasing Gurley's workload come Week 1.'Everybody knew when Todd came out of Georgia that there would be some kind of arthritic component to his knee, which is part of every surgery whether it's a shoulder, a knee, an ankle. He's now at the Year 5 mark; all we're doing is managing that. If we can pound him less in the offseason while keeping his weight down, working on his strength, working on his agility in short areas, that's going to give him a better chance to be healthy Weeks 14 through 17 when they really count,' Gaines said.

      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gaines has been a trainer for some of the best players in the NFL (and the NBA too), so we'll listen to what he has to say about Gurley. The veteran superstar RB has seen his ADP slide in recent weeks as Fantasy GMs are nervous about his knee condition and about the Rams perhaps using more Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson to spell Gurley in 2019. Gurley now is a boom/bust pick for Fantasy GMs in the early second round.

NO - New Orleans talking with WR Michael Thomas

      Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas has had some contract extension talks with the Saints, according to general manager Mickey Loomis.

      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas is in the final year of his rookie contract and is on the books for only $1.6 million in 2019. We'll see if the Saints can find a way to get him a new deal before he hits the open market (or more precisely is franchise tagged) in 2020. Thomas is likely to be the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL when a new contract is agreed upon.

NYJ - QB Josh McCown calls it a career

      Source: 1 No Source

New York Jets QB Josh McCown announced his retirement via The Players' Tribune on Monday, June 17.

      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCown had a 17-year football career and now finds his way to the TV studio as an analyst for ESPN. Largely a backup or bridge quarterback during his pro career, McCown was a solid player no matter where he went in 10 different NFL stops (and one year with the Hartford Colonials in the UFL).

NYJ - WR Robby Anderson impresses

      Source: MMQB - Albert Breer

New York Jets WR Robby Anderson was deemed a 'very pleasant surprise' by new general manager Joe Douglas. 'He's a tough weapon for defenses to match up with, he can get behind you and he can challenge the defense vertically,' Douglas said. 'That was a very pleasant surprise.'

      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Over the last month of the 2018 season, Anderson performed at a high level. We'll see if he can carry that over to this season. New head coach Adam Gase should have plenty of ways to use Anderson as a favorite target of second-year QB Sam Darnold. Anderson has a current ADP of WR30 (6.12) in 12-team PPR leagues.

BAL - TE Mark Andrews not resting on laurels

Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews looks bigger, faster and stronger, in the opinion of beat writer Jeff Zrebiec. He made a ton of plays the last couple of weeks, according to Zrebiec.

      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Andrews was the best rookie tight end for the Ravens in 2018. They selected Hayden Hurst in the first round last year but he was banged up and didn't impress in 12 games with only 13 catches as a rookie. Andrews played in 16 games and snared 34 passes for 552 yards and three touchdowns. We should see a TEBC featuring both Andrews and Hurst for Baltimore's run-heavy offense in 2019.

IND - Parris Campbell in mix for No. 3 job

Source: 1070 The Fan - Kevin Bowen

Indianapolis Colts WR Parris Campbell missed some time in the spring, but he still should be in the mix for the No. 3 receiver job.

      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We love Campbell's playmaking ability on the football field. He is a big play waiting to happen and can take short passes and turn them into long gains because of his speed and quickness. Campbell can toy with defenders after the catch and has goof field vision to find running lanes. He should serve as the No. 3 receiver with T.Y. Hilton and Devin Funchess ahead of him on the depth chart.

IND - WR Devin Funchess struggled in OTAs

Source: 1070 The Fan - Kevin Bowen

Indianapolis Colts WR Devin Funchess struggled to establish a consistent rapport with QB Jacoby Brissett during organized team activities (OTAs), as starting QB Andrew Luck was held out. Head coach Frank Reich still praised the aptitude and route running of Funchess.

      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on this situation as training camp and preseason roll on later this summer. It's not a good sign that Funchess was struggling in OTAs. The Colts took a flier on Funchess after he had a down season in Carolina. They signed him to a one-year deal earlier this offseason. He gives the Colts much-needed size at the wide receiver position, and Funchess gets an upgrade at quarterback with Andrew Luck. We'll see if he can clean things up in training camp.

PHI - Marken Michel making noise

      Source: ESPN.com - Tim McManus

Philadelphia Eagles WR Marken Michel has spent some time with the first-team offense during spring practices and has shown the ability to stretch the field, according to Tim McManus of ESPN.com.

      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Michel is the older brother of Patriots second-year running back Sony Michel, and he's got quite an athletic profile. The Eagles were able to sign Michel after he spent two seasons in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders. During his college career at UMASS, Michel worked primarily as a wide receiver but did also play some running back and on special teams. Undrafted out of UMASS in 2016, Michel signed with the Vikings but did not make the 53-man roster as a rookie. We'll keep an eye on him in crazy deep dynasty formats.

IND - Mo Alie-Cox making strides

      Source: ESPN.com - Mike Wells

Indianapolis Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox has started to develop as a route runner, according to head coach Frank Reich. 'I have already seen some really key indicators to me,' Reich said. 'I mean, very tangible indicators that he can develop into a very good route runner as well. He is so long and big and they don't want to tackle him.'

      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This offseason has been full of positive reports about Alie-Cox. The former basketball player from Virginia Commonwealth has been running as the first-team tight end in OTAs and minicamp with both Eric Ebron (groin) and Jack Doyle (hip) recovering from injuries. We'll continue to monitor Alie-Cox in dynasty formats.

PHI - JJ Arcega-Whiteside the No. 4 option?

      Source: NJ.com - Zack Rosenblatt

Philadelphia Eagles WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside is the clear No. 4 receiver, according to Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com, and Rosenblatt believes Arcega-Whiteside has 'potentially elite' ability in the red zone.

      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The rookie from Stanford should be in line for that No. 4 job with the Eagles behind Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson and Nelson Agholor. His 'my ball mentalilty' helps Arcega-Whiteside bring down contested passes regularly...making him a great option when space is tight near pay dirt. We'll monitor him closely in dynasty formats and likely throw him in as a cheap boom/bust DFS play from time to time in 2019.

SF - WR Dante Pettis turning heads

Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Jennifer Lee Chan

San Francisco 49ers WR Dante Pettis has impressed QB Jimmy Garoppolo and head Kyle Shanahan with his new physique and attention to detail. 'Dante's body is maturing,' Garoppolo said. 'He's coming out of breaks with power, he has speed.''He worked while he was away,' Shanahan said. 'He tried to get bigger. He worked more at his routes and he came here with the idea of 'Hey, I'm not just coming here to get better back in shape, I'm coming here to get better.''

      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Pettis is a dynamic player who can create space with his quickness, route-running and run-after-the-catch ability. While not a speedster, Pettis plays with plenty of guile and can be one of Garoppolo's favorite targets in 2019. If Pettis caught 50-plus catches this season we would not be surprised. Pettis has a current ADP of WR34 (8.03) in 12-team PPR leagues.

                Wednesday Update

ATL - WR Julio Jones nearing long-term extension?

Source: ESPN - Dianna Marie Russini

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones will have a long-term contract extension before training camp arrives, according to 'confident' team sources.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones is actually signed through the 2020 season but the Falcons aren't likely to make him wait much longer. The veteran superstar wideout attended mandatory minicamp in a good faith move. The team should make him one of the highest paid wide receiver in the league -- again -- with this new deal.

NO - Saints have no timeline for QB Drew Brees

                Source: New Orleans Advocate

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees turned 40 in January, but the team is dealing with the situation on a year-to-year basis. 'I think we look at it in terms of, 'Hey, this year,' you know? And man, he had a great season last year, and we expect a great season this year,' Saints general manager Loomis said recently. 'And so for as long as he wants to play and can play, he's going to have that opportunity.'

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thanks to restructured contract that pushes a $10-million-plus cap hit to 2020, Brees will count more than $21 million against the cap that season (whether or not he's on the team), and number will increase if Brees isn't signed to a new deal that will kick some of that hit over future seasons. Saints GM Mickey Loomis says that Brees can be the quarterback of the Saints 'as long as he wants to.'

IND - WR T.Y. Hilton excelled in slot

                Source: Pro Football Focus

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton averaged 2.64 receiving yards per route run from the slot in 2018, which ranked fourth among wide receivers who played at least 100 snaps.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hilton's yards-per-reception from the slot in 2018 (19.42 yards) ranked 5th in the NFL. Last season, Hilton ran 133 routes from the slot and was targeted 38 times. From the slot or on the outside, Hilton is a playmaker and it doesn't take advanced data to see that.

ARI - WR Larry Fitzgerald works in offseason program

                Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald has shown up to almost every voluntary workout so far during his 16th NFL offseason. 'I am hoping he enjoys the process and enjoys what the offense turns into and gives him a reason to stick around a few more years,' head coach Kliff Kingsbury said. 'But he practices and he plays like he's trying to make the team, and that's the biggest compliment I can give him. He doesn't need it, and you'd think he's starving out there. It's impressive to watch.'

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Entering his 16th season, Fitzgerald is still capable of playing at a high level. The Cardinals have tons of talent around Fitzgerald in guys like Chritian Kirk, Hakeem Butler, and Andy Isabella. Their presence should help open things up for Fitzgerald. He's coming off the board at WR40 (9.03) in 12-team PPR leagues.

DET - QB Matthew Stafford played with serious injury

                Source: MLive.com - Kyle Meinke

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back) played all 16 games in 2018 to run his consecutive-starts streak to 128 despite reportedly finishing the season with broken bones in his back, according to Mike O'Hara of the team's website.'He had a broken back last year. Broken bones in his back. ... It's been reported. I read that. Word gets out in the NFL,' O'Hara said during a recent episode of his weekly podcast with WJR's Ken Brown.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There is no denying the numbers went down for Stafford in 2018. Some of this has to do with that injury, and some of this was a lack of weapons in the passing game. They addressed that in the 2019 NFL draft by adding T.J. Hockenson in the first round. We'll see if that helps Stafford have a little bounce back in 2019. The Lions are a run-heavy offense, so don't expect Stafford to put up huge numbers this season.

TB - WR Mike Evans restructures

Back in late March, the Buccaneers made a similar move. Evans is entering the second season of a five-year extension he signed back in 2018.

ARI - Chase Edmond optimistic about role

                Source: AZCardinals.com - Kyle Odegard

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds expressed confidence Wednesday, June 17 that he will have a regular role in the offseason despite the fact RB David Johnson will be leaned upon heavily as the bellcow back. 'Me and (Dave) are definitely pushing for (two-back looks),' Edmonds said. 'It opens up his dynamic ability and mine as well. Whether it's two-back sets or Dave in the slot, me in the slot, it doesn't really matter.'

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Edmonds, a fourth-round pick out of Fordham in 2018, is going to see limited snaps with Johnson being featured by the Cardinals. However, that makes him a handcuff option if you have the bench space in 2019. Edmonds can work as a runner or receiver out of the backfield, but his pass-blocking needs work.

ARI - TE Ricky Seals-Jones takes part in workouts

Source: The Arizona Republic - Bob McManaman

Arizona Cardinals TE Ricky Seals-Jones (neck) was able to take part in offseason workouts. Seals-Jones and the rest of the tight ends saw plenty of four-receiver sets during minicamp and offseason workouts. However, he wasn't concerned about a lack of targets heading into 2019. 'Regardless of what happens, I'm going to keep trying to trend up,' Seals-Jones said. 'I'm going to get better at what I do, so whatever the outcome is, I'll be happy as long as I know I did my best. We'll see what the numbers look like at the end of the year.'

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

In 15 games last year, Seals-Jones had 70 targets snaring 34 catches for 343 yards and one touchdown. This season, Charles Clay will push Seals-Jones for playing time in 2019. Fantasy GMs in dynasty formats have been waiting for Seals-Jones to truly have a breakout season, something that might happen (finally) under Kliff Kingsbury. Keep Seals-Jones on your waiver speed dial, especially in TE-premium formats.

NO - WR Michael Thomas talks far apart

Source: The Times-Picayune - Jeff Duncan

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas and the team remain far apart in contract talks, and nothing is imminent. However, both sides are motivated to get a deal done.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Deals get done at deadlines, but Thomas has one more year left on his rookie deal. A second-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft, Thomas has a cap hit of $1.6 million in 2019. Whatever agreement the two sides come to will likely make Thomas one of the highest paid receivers in the league. He is in for a huge pay increase in the near future. In fact, we think the Saints get something done before the start of the regular season.

NE - WR Josh Gordon working with Tom Brady

Source: Boston Herald - Kevin Duffy

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon, who is on the Reserve/Commissioner Suspended list, posted a video of him working out with Patriots QB Tom Brady Wednesday, June 19.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon signed his restricted free agent tender back in April even though he's indefinitely suspended by the NFL. Earlier reports indicated there was a chance that Gordon could be reinstated for training camp. Gordon working out with Brady shows that he's preparing for that possibility. If/when Gordon is reinstated, that could potentially be bad news for guys like veteran Demaryius Thomas or rookie N'Keal Harry in terms of the pecking order at wide receiver.

SEA - RB C.J. Prosise to be the odd-man out?

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise could be cut in order to keep RBs J.D. McKissic and Travis Homer, in the opinion of the Seattle Times' Bob Condotta, who believes the team may not be able to sneak Homer onto the practice squad and that McKissic's dependability gives him an edge over Prosise.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Prosise has failed to produce at the pro level, mostly due to an injury bug that he can't shake. We'd actually be shocked if he stays healthy and makes the 53-man roster. Talent isn't the issue, but Prosise could use a fresh start in his pro career.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins living large inside

                  Source: Pro Football Focus

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins averaged 3.11 yards per route run from the slot in 2018, the third-highest average among qualified receivers per Pro Football Focus.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's not news to say that Hopkins is really good. Everybody knows that, and the advanced data (of course) backs that up. Hopkins ran 118 routes from the slot in 2018, he was targeted on 35 of those routes and came up with 32 catches for 411 yards and four touchdowns.

SEA - TE Will Dissly the only lock at TE

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (knee) is the only lock to make the 53-man roster among its tight ends, in the opinion of the Seattle Times' Bob Condotta, who gives the edge to TEs Nick Vannett and Jacob Hollister for the other two spots.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's funny that Dissly would be considered a lock for the 53-man roster when he hasn't even recovered from the torn patella tendon he suffered in Week 4 last season. Dissly won't be ready for the start of training camp, but reports indicate that he should be ready for Week 1 of the regular season. When healthy, Dissly will be competing for a reserve or (at most) rotational role.

CHI - RB Tarik Cohen expecting same role

                    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Chicago Bears RB Tarik Cohen is expecting to maintain his role as the team's change-of-pace back this season despite an overhaul with the rest of the Bears' backfield. 'I feel like I'm going to be doing the same things I was doing last year,' Cohen told SiriusXM NFL Radio on Thursday, June 20. 'My role is not going to change. I still have to be the receiving back, come in be the change of pace back, running the ball, be that speedy guy. I'm just prepared for anything however I get the ball.'

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We anticipate that Cohen will be the 'Lightning' to the 'Thunder' of Davis or Montgomery in 2019. Cohen should get less than 100 carries, but his role is as a dangerous receiver out of the backfield. Projecting him for 70-plus catches again sounds about right. He's got flex appeal, especially in PPR format. Cohen has a current ADP of RB28 (5.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.

IND - QB Andrew Luck excelling in red zone

Source: 1070 The Fan - Kevin Bowen

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck's strong red-zone play is a key to the Colts continuing their success inside the opponents' 20-yard line, head coach Frank Reich said earlier in June at the team's minicamp. 'You need really good quarterback play,' Reich said. 'We got that last year. If you look at Andrew's (Luck) career -- that was one of the things I looked at when I got here. I looked at what Andrew's career was on third down and red zone. He's been good at third down and red zone his whole career. We saw that last year.'

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Luck had 32 passing touchdowns in 2018 that were in the red zone. That was good for second in the league behind Patrick Mahomes (35). His 67.4 completion percentage was good for second in the league as well, this time behind Drew Brees (71.6 percent). Luck is currently going off the board at QB2 (4.12) in 12-team PPR leagues.

PHI - WR DeSean Jackson creates separation

                    Source: Pro Football Focus

Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson, according to Pro Football Focus, had at least one step of separation on 67.6 percent of his targets in 2018, which ranked fifth among the 72 wideouts with at least 50 targets.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's what Jackson does. He uses his speed to blow by defenders and get open deep. We've heard nothing but good things about Jackson now that he's back with the Eagles, and Jackson could easily outperform his current ADP of WR49 (10.12) in 12-team PPR leagues.

WAS - QB Colt McCoy not counted out

Source: NBC Sports Washington - JP Finlay

Washington Redskins QB Colt McCoy (leg) isn't being counted out of the battle for starting quarterback by the team. 'We would love for him to take some reps, but obviously his health is more important right now than anything, and that is the most important thing for him,' head coach Jay Gruden said about McCoy on the first day of minicamp. 'When his time comes it will come quickly. He will be ready.'

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's not out but it's easy to see how McCoy is a long-shot for the starting job. Case Keenum is the seasoned veteran who could begin the season as the starter. Dwayne Haskins is the 2019 first-round pick and seen as the quarterback of the future. McCoy is mainly an afterthought right now.

GB - WR Trevor Davis enjoyed solid spring

                    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Green Bay Packers WR Trevor Davis made one play every day 'that jumps out on the film,' according to QB Aaron Rodgers, while offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett said the receiver made 'electric catches.' Head coach Matt LaFleur was similarly impressed.'A guy that may have been forgotten a little bit is Trevor Davis. He made a lot of great plays down the field. He has speed. .... I've been really impressed with him. I feel like he's come a long way. The effort and the intensity level with which he practices has certainly improved,' LaFleur told Madison.com.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Davis was a fifth-round pick out of Cal in the 2016 NFL draft. He's done little as a pro to this point, and Davis was hampered by hamstring injuries in 2018 so he only appeared in two games. This offseason, Davis is impressing the new coaching staff with his speed and big-play ability. We'll continue to monitor Davis in super deep dynasty formats.

GB - WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling got open in 2018

                    Source: Pro Football Focus

Green Bay Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling created at least one step of separation on 70.3 percent of his targets (excluding screens), ranking third among the 72 receivers with at least 50 targets in 2018, according to Pro Football Focus.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Valdes-Scantling is big (6'4" 206 pounds) and has blazing speed. Behind Davante Adams, the Packers are looking for playmakers at the WR position. That just might be Valdes-Scantling this season. He's looking to take what he showed in a four-game stretch last year (Week 6 through Week 10) and produce that way for a whole season. He could be a value pick at his current ADP of WR50 (11.04) in 12-team PPR leagues.

NFL - Marcus Simms eligible for supplemental draft

                    Source: DraftAnalyst.com - Tony Pauline

West Virginia WR Marcus Simms has filed the necessary paperwork to enter the supplemental draft next month, according to DraftAnalyst.com's Tony Pauline.

Simms is likely to work out for teams in early July. He entered the NCAA transfer portal back in April when he declared he was leaving the Mountaineers. Now, Simms will try to make his way to the pros. During his three years with West Virginia, Simms had 87 career receptions for 1,457 yards and eight touchdowns. Simms also contributed as a return man. He's the first player to declare for the Supplemental Draft, and no date has yet been set.

GB - Green Bay to carry seven WRs?

Source: Packers Wire - Zach Kruse

Green Bay Packers WRs Davante Adams, Geronimo Allison, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Equanimeous St. Brown, Jake Kumerow, J'Mon Moore and Trevor Davis could all make the 53-man roster, in the opinion of Packers Wire's Zach Kruse, with Adams, Allison, Valdes-Scantling and St. Brown viewed as locks.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Seven is a big number for the wide receiver position. Most teams keep around five or six wide receivers depending on the makeup of the rest of the roster. We've heard good things this offseason about Valdes-Scantling and Kumerow, so Fantasy GMs should watch their progress closely in training camp and the preseason. Behind Adams and Allison, those two seem the most likely to make the 53-man roster.

Source: FOX 5 DC - Angie Goff

Washington Redskins QB Alex Smith (leg) said he hopes to play football again, but he has more steps to conquer before that. Smith talked about an external fixator that came from Siberia that will 'save my leg, help me heal, allow me to walk again and hopefully play football again.'

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This sounds even more pessimistic than what we heard in the offseason to date. If Smith's leg needed to be "saved" and his walking again was in question, football is far far away.

Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis spent the offseason working on his body control, and Jim Wyatt of TitansOnline.com said Davis was going up to make catches in traffic on a regular basis during spring practices.

Davis could be a year three breakout receiver, but he needs Marcus Mariota to play well and stay healthy to be a profitable pick. His ADP more than reflects pessimism after a 2018 campaign with some of the least efficient targets and the addition of Adam Humphries and AJ Brown this offseason.

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake said he has focused on following a routine this offseason to ensure that he maximizes his potential. 'I think that's the most important thing and aspect that any professional at any given level continues to kind of develop,' Drake said. 'When you get that routine down, everything else kind of falls into place from there.'

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Drake has a chance to see a big workload increase under the new staff. Kalen Ballage's development is a wild card here and Brian Flores and Chad O'Shea saw what he could do in a Patriots loss to Miami in 2017 when Drake had 193 total yards on 30 touches. He could pay off big on a modest ADP.

Miami Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki said he feels more comfortable entering his second season and has been able to adjust quicker on the field.

Gesicki won't be miscast as a blocker under Brian Flores and new offensive coordinator Chad O'Shea. He's a potential tight end streamer and might be more if he has good chemistry with Ryan Fitzpatrick. Albert WIlson is coming back from a hip injury and Jakeem Grant an achilles injury, so Gesicki could be a prominent target.

Oakland Raiders TE Darren Waller was 'one of our most impressive players (since he joined the team off the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad late last season),' according to head coach Jon Gruden.'When you put the pads on three, four, five days in a row up in Napa, I think that will be a better indication. He's got a lot to prove. He's a young player who is a converted wide receiver; don't forget that. He's not been brought up as a tight end, but he has made a lot of progress. ... He's got some big shoes to fill, I know he respects that, but he's versatile, he's smart, he's fast. He wants to do good, he's a great kid,' Gruden said.

Waller was a size/speed receiver at Georgia Tech in a long line that included Calvin Johnson and Demaryius Thomas. He has had suspensions and a position change, but could be relevant at a position with only a few reliable options. We'll be watching him in training camp.

Updating previous reports, New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas' asking price has come down to $22 million per year, while the Saints are sitting at $18 million per year. Thomas is in Europe, and nothing is imminent.

'I think we've got a better feel for each other and where I'm going to be and everything,' Gallup said. 'I'm pretty excited about that part.'

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gallup should take a step forward this year, and the rest of the offense could too, but he still has a high bar to fantasy relevance with Randall Cobb and Jason Witten added to the offense this offseason. He has growth potential, but this won't be a top performing pass offense.

PIT - RB Jaylen Samuels working on speed

                              Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Samuels has focused on improving his speed this offseason and believes he has done that, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Samuels should be used more in two-back backfields and as a tight end/H-back if the Steelers offense is evolving. He's an intriguing pick later in PPR leagues with his unique skillset and James Conner injury upside - albeit dampened by fourth round pick Benny Snell joining the running back room.

CHI - WR Allen Robinson led offense in 2018

                              Source: Pro Football Focus

Chicago Bears WR Allen Robinson was the team's highest-graded offensive player in 2018 at 77.7, according to Pro Football Focus.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Robinson should be even better this year, and Mitchell Trubisky and the offense should improve too. Robinson was once an elite fantasy receiver with Blake Bortles and he is still in his prime. He seems undervalued at a mid-round ADP.

Washington Redskins WR Trey Quinn has 'taken over the inside slot role,' according to head coach Jay Gruden.

Quinn could (should?) lead this team in targets and receptions if he stays healthy. That's worth a look in best ball and redraft PPR leagues late in your draft.

Tennessee Titans RB David Fluellen added about 16 pounds since the end of last season and is expected to see some time at fullback in addition to his other duties.

Fluellen will be trying to ward off workout wonder Alex Barnes, who signed with the team as a UDFA. Ultra deep dynasty league players should be watching for Barnes, who has some James Conner flashes in his game.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR DJ Chark has been in rhythm with QB Nick Foles during spring practices, according to Daniel Popper of The Athletic.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Chris Conley has gotten the most buzz of the Jags receivers, but Chark is worth monitoring for the possibility of a year two leap. Keelan Cole could also have a chance for redemption. This pass offense will likely only support one reliable receiver with Nick Foles, and Dede Westbrook is the best candidate, but the others deserve monitoring this summer.

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Benny Cunningham's pass-catching ability gives him a good chance to make the 53-man roster, in the opinion of Daniel Popper of The Athletic.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cunningham could play the TJ Yeldon role from last year, or at least the passing down part of it. He's still only a marginal back in a nondescript group of backups.

San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (groin) has been dealing with a 'tweaked groin' during spring practices, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Samuel is being cast as a slot receiver in this offense, which also has Trent Taylor in that role. Dante Pettis is easily the best wide receiver pick in drafts right now from this team, with Marquise Goodwin deserving a look at the end of your draft. Samuel will be an early season waiver wire watch player, but without a great camp/preseason, he shouldn't be drafted.

Seattle Seahawks WR John Ursua (hamstring) impressed head coach Pete Carroll when he returned from a hamstring injury during minicamp. 'He started to feel comfortable and show us the kind of quicks and change-of-direction stuff that made him one of the big scorers in college football last year,' Carroll said. 'You can see it, he's got a real style to him. He's a slot guy, he really is that mold.'

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ursua will probably never approach what Doug Baldwin did, but he is in a similar vein as a quicker than fast slot receiver. He should be monitored in deep dynasty leagues.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Breshad Perriman (shoulder) was able to participate in mandatory minicamp.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is good news for a former first round pick who was just starting to put it together in Cleveland last year. He hasn't been able to stay healthy for long so hearing that he was sidelined earlier in the offseason was discouraging. Remember 2018 fifth-round pick Justin Watson and this year's sixth rounder Scott Miller, who is the type of light vertical receiver that Bruce Arians has done well with in the past. Any issue with Perriman would put one of them on the field in a high value role.

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (hip) will be brought along slowly and may not be ready for the start of training camp.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wilson was more productive than the fantasy community remembers, but it sounds like his hip injury was more serious than let on or that he had a setback considering that there was a report in January that he was on schedule and could be ready for offseason activities. He could get on our waiver wire radar early in the season, but he's undraftable in redraft leagues right now and hanging on by a thread in dynasty. Devante Parker and Kenny Stills outlooks get brighter if Wilson isn't healthy to start camp and doesn't get back to full speed quickly.

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (groin) looks 'so much like himself' this offseason, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman will be a value if he returns to form after two injury-riddled seasons. Tevin Coleman is gone, so Freeman has an even higher ceiling than he did last year, when he was going ahead of his current ADP.

Los Angeles Rams WR Brandin Cooks said he has focused on improving his timing with QB Jared Goff this offseason. 'You can always have perfect timing out there when you're throwing on air,' Cooks said. 'But now we've got defenders out there, just continue to work on that and get better at that, so we can be the best we can possibly be.'

Cooks was fantastic in 2021 and defied the "first year with a new quarterback" drag on production for the second straight year. He should build on his strong campaign this year now that he has continuity for the first offseason since 2016.

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard has spent time with the first-team offense during spring practices, and head coach Zac Taylor said he hopes to spread out carries more this year to keep RB Joe Mixon fresh for late in the season.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bernard is still a top backup/handcuff, and he could earn enough extra touches to be a better emergency play, but this isn't going to become a committee. Mixon may lose some touches at the margin, but increasing efficiency in a new look offense with an improved offensive line should make up for that and give Mixon a higher weekly and season-long ceiling.

Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman has taken snaps with the first-team offense during spring practices with RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) still rehabbing.

Freeman struggled in the Broncos running game last year but should be a better fit in the Shanahan zone running that new offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello will implement. While Phillip Lindsay has been recovering from a wrist injury, Freeman has had a chance to impress the new regime and earn a larger role than the one he had last year. We'll see if he can carry over the momentum to training camp.

Woods had a massive breakout in 2018 and he is also a top blocking wide receiver. He should get a payday in 2022 if the Rams let his contract expire without an extension, but he is actually underpaid at 5.5 million in 2020 and 7.5 million in 2021.

If Sammy Watkins injury problems resurface, Robinson could become a primary target. He showed budding chemistry with Patrick Mahomes last year.

Los Angeles Chargers WR Artavis Scott was performing well during offseason workouts last year before an injury and continued his solid work this offseason, according to head coach Anthony Lynn.

Scott has some potential as a run after catch receiver and adds speed on jet sweeps, so he provides a different element than his competitors for the #4 and #5 wide receiver spots. He's a name to remember in deep dynasty, as he appears to be ahead of players like Dylan Cantrell and Geremy Davis.

Denver Broncos TE Jake Butt (knee) said he will be ready for the start of training camp.

Butt will have to stand out to make the team now that they took Noah Fant in the first round and also have Troy Fumagalli and Jeff Heuerman on the roster.

IND - RB Marlon Mack inconsistent in 2018

Source: 1070 The Fan - Kevin Bowen

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack rushed for at least 115 yards in five games last season but was also held to 50 yards or less in six games.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mack and Derrick Henry appear to be the most game script dependent running backs in their tier of fantasy RB2 candidates, which usually costs a third or fourth round pick. The Colts could take a step forward this year and give him more favorable game scripts, which would make him a hit if he can stay healthy.

PHI - Richard Rodgers leading for TE3 role?

                                      Source: NJ.com - Mike Kaye

Philadelphia Eagles TE Richard Rodgers appears to be the favorite for the team's No. 3 tight end spot, according to NJ.com's Mike Kaye, who writes that Rodgers, TE Will Tye and TE Joshua Perkins could be competing for one roster slot. TEs Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert will fill the top two spots.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers is a functional receiver, but underwhelming athletically. He flirted with fantasy relevance in Green Bay and the Eagles could lead the league in two and three tight end sets, but Rodgers is well off of our fantasy radar.

NYJ - RB Ty Montgomery a good fit

Source: New York Post - Brian Costello

New York Jets RB Ty Montgomery's versatility as a runner and receiver makes him a good fit in head coach Adam Gase's offense, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post, and Montgomery continues to be the frontrunner to return kicks.

The team added Blial Powell recently and has a slew of young backs competing with him and Montgomery for two running back spots at the most. Montgomery is the most versatile, so consider him a favorite to win one of the spots.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Ryan Finley has struggled throughout spring practices, according to Laurel Pfahler of the Dayton Daily News, and Pfahler believes Finley has 'a long way to go' before he can be trusted to be the backup to QB Andy Dalton.

Jeff Driskel wasn't a total disaster when he played last year, and it looks like he'll be the backup again this year.

PIT - WR Ryan Switzer fighting for spot

                                      Source: Steelers.com - Bob Labriola

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Ryan Switzer is likely competing for WR Eli Rogers to be the final receiver kept on the 53-man roster, according to Bob Labriola of Steelers.com.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Steelers could target the slot receiver more often with Antonio Brown gone. Switzer is the more physically gifted player and can contribute as a returner, while Rogers has more experience with Ben Roethlisberger. The winner is unlikely to be relevant in fantasy leagues without multiple injuries to Steelers receivers/Vance McDonald.

Exactly, never could figure out why RG3 would kill himself for an extra yard after a 15 yard run. Russell Wilson runs a lot and knows how to avoid a big hit.

yep, Wilson and Murray played baseball so sliding is second nature to them...RG3's slides looked similar to Charles Barkley's golf swing...Wilson and Murray also thicker and more muscular than RG3 but they avoid the contact and slide or get out of the way.

Murray is not that thick....I hope it works out for him since he’s a local kid.

he is thicker than RG3 and pretty stout for his size, i don't see him having the issues that RG3 had getting lit up by the defense.

I believe Wilson dropped weight to be quicker at combine while murry had to beef up so he didn’t look so small. Think Wilson frame naturally bigger than murry’s who looked freaking tiny out on the college field. Prob something to the sliding and avoiding hits but don’t think murry is all the stocky.
