Packers | Backup QB on Green Bay's FA want list?
The Green Bay Packers may look to sign a veteran in free agency to play behind QB Aaron Rodgers, in the opinion of Packers Wire's Zach Kruse, who lists QBs Ryan Fitzpatrick (Buccaneers), Matt Schaub (Falcons), Robert Griffin III (Redskins), Sean Mannion (Rams) and Austin Davis (Titans) as possible fits; everyone on the list except Fitzpatrick previously played for head coach Matt LaFleur earlier in their careers.

Panthers | Carolina could target veteran QB in FA
The Carolina Panthers could seek a veteran backup to QB Cam Newton in free agency, in the opinion of ESPN's David Newton, who lists soon-to-be free-agent QBs Brock Osweiler (Dolphins), Trevor Siemian (Vikings), Tyrod Taylor (Browns), Ryan Fitzpatrick (Buccaneers), Sean Mannion (Rams) and Mark Sanchez (Redskins) as options they could consider.

Texans | DeAndre Hopkins set sure-hands record Sun Feb 10, 02:51 PM
Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins set a Pro Football Focus-era record (since 2006) for the most catchable targets (105) without a drop (minimum 40 targets) in 2018.

Footballguys view: Hopkins is one of the most reliable assets in the game, and Fantasy GMs know that he's a set-it-and-forget-it WR1 each week. He'll continue to be the centerpiece of the Texans passing attack in 2019.

NFLDraft | NFL waiting on Kyler Murray commitment
Six NFL executives believe former Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray is a first-round draft talent, but one scout who loved Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, believes Murray is too small. Of all the things made clear, though, the NFL execs said Murray will have to fully commit to the NFL before any team uses a first-round selection on him.

Footballguys view: Murray is going to participate in the Scouting Combine later this month. He should showcase his incredible athletic ability at that event...but teams already know he's gifted in terms of physical skill set. In order to be selected in the first round, Murray is going to have to fully commit to football...something he has yet to publicly do.

NFL | Kyler Murray holds the all the cards
Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray, according to one general manager, has power to dictate where he is drafted like no one since New York Giants QB Eli Manning did in forcing his way to the Giants. If he desires, he can tell a team ready to draft him that he'll play baseball instead.

Atlanta Falcons impending free-agent QB Matt Schaub is one of the players the Falcons will consider re-signing this offseason, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Browns | Duke Johnson not done in Cleveland
Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson is not expendable 'yet,' according to general manager John Dorsey.

Footballguys view: The Browns added Kareem Hunt and crowded the backfield with Nick Chubb. That means Johnson is the odd man out. The team has Johnson under contract through the 2021 season. Hunt is likely to face league discipline, so the Browns may have to wait for his debut. They're unlikely to move Johnson before that time.

Giants | Kyler Murray unlikely for Giants
Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray is not expected to be drafted by the New York Giants with the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Murray is considered to be 'probably a little too small,' according to one team source. Murray is listed at 5-foot-10, 195 pounds. The Giants have largely been linked to Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins, who is listed at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds.

Footballguys view: Haskins is seen as the guy for the Giants in most every mock draft. Murray could go no.1 overall to the Cardinals or he could fall to around the 10th pick (Broncos) in the 2019 NFL draft. His draft stock hinges on his size/weight measurements at the Scouting Combine.

Browns | Cleveland lands Kareem Hunt on one-year deal
Free-agent RB Kareem Hunt signed a one-year contract that is for more than the league minimum and could be worth more than $1 million with the Cleveland Browns on Monday, Feb. 11.

Footballguys view: Hunt and Browns GM John Dorsey go back (Dorsey was part of the Chiefs when Hunt was drafted in 2017) and that's why the Browns felt they could take a chance on the young runner. There will be league discipline handed down for Hunt in the future, but for now he remains on the commissioner's exempt list. Hunt's addition means Nick Chubb's fantasy stock takes a hit.

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco is part of a trade agreed upon with the Denver Broncos Wednesday, Feb. 13. The package going to Baltimore is unknown, and the deal can't become official until March 13.

Browns | Kareem Hunt facing long suspension?
Cleveland Browns RB Kareem Hunt could be suspended up to 10 or 12 games as a result of the domestiv violence incident he was involved in last year, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Footballguys view: With video evidence of Hunt's domestic violence incident, the chances of him getting a large suspension are great. The Browns signed him to a one-year deal earlier this week and they'll use Nick Chubb as their lead back while Hunt is serving his suspension.

Steelers | JuJu Smith-Schuster excels sans Antonio Brown
Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster has fared exceptionally well in three games without WR Antonio Brown. In those three contests he has averaged nine targets, 6.6 catches, 85 yards and one touchdown.

Footballguys view: Brown has asked for a trade and his time with the Steelers appears to be near an end. When he's traded away, the Steelers won't miss a beat with Smith-Schuster as their lead wide receiver. We expect the Steelers to be in the market for a wide receiver this offseason, either through the draft or free agency.

Texans | Demaryius Thomas officially cut
Houston Texans WR Demaryius Thomas (Achilles') was officially released Tuesday, Feb. 12, with a failed physical designation.

Footballguys view: Thomas was traded to the Texans at the trade deadline last year but he was barely able to make an impact due to this Achilles' injury. His release created $14 million more in Houston's salary cap space.

Cardinals | Arizona sticking with Josh Rosen
Arizona Cardinals QB Josh Rosen 'is our guy,' in the words of new head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Footballguys view: The Cardinals may say that now, but that doesn't mean they won't select QB Kyler Murray no.1 overall in the 2019 NFL draft. Rosen was a disappointment during his rookie year and there was some buzz that this new staff would want to go in a different direction. Kingsbury will bring the 'Air Raid' system to the Cardinals and quite frankly, Rosen is an odd fit. Stay tuned.

Redskins | Teammate doubts Alex Smith will play
Washington Redskins QB Alex Smith (leg) is not expected to play this season, in the opinion of RB Chris Thompson. 'We know and understand that it's probably not going to happen that we have him this year,' Thompson admitted. The Redskins have discussed a new deal with QB Josh Johnson, but QB Colt McCoy is slated to start the year if Smith can't go.

Footballguys view: Smith's football future is certainly up in the air. Not only will he potentially miss the 2019 season, there is a chance that Smith may never be able to play football again. We hope that is not the case and will continue to monitor his recovery closely. Smith is in the midst of a an extensive recovery from a severe compound leg fracture late in the season.

Steelers | Antonio Brown's asking price too high?
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown is expected to cost a first-round pick, but two high-ranking NFL executives stated they would only give up a day-two draft pick or even a fourth-round pick.

Footballguys view: Last year the Raiders were able to deal WR Amari Cooper to the Cowboys for a first-round pick. Teams may balk at that price for Brown, but all it takes is one franchise that will do the deal. The Steelers have a mess with their salary cap situation even if they trade Brown away. That likely keeps the price tag high for the disgruntled veteran receiver.

Ravens | Baltimore to receive fourth-round pick from Denver
Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Joe Flacco was traded by the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for the 11th pick in the fourth round (106 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Footballguys view: The Ravens are moving forward with Lamar Jackson as their starting quarterback, and that was incredibly evident after Flacco was hurt and they changed the structure of the offense to accommodate Jackson.

Footballguys view: Good luck with that. We can't imagine the market being white hot for the veteran quarterback (although keep an eye out for Arizona). If a trade cannot be executed, Keenum will either take a big pay cut or just be released.
