HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins draws lofty praise

    Source: HoustonTexans.com - Drew Dougherty

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins drew extensive praise Sunday, Jan. 6, in head coach Bill O'Brien's season-ending news conference. 'I don't think there was anybody better in the league,' O'Brien said. ' ... Every team knew that we were going to him on every play.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hopkins gave it his all but was banged up in the loss to the Colts. He's a WR1 for Fantasy GMs and a no-brainer starter each and ever week. Expect him to be a first-round pick in PPR leagues this summer.

PHI - RB Darren Sproles to play another season?

    Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles has told teammates and coaches he could look into playing another season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'd love to see it. Sproles only made it through six games for the Eagles this season...which was supposed to be his last. One more year would be great for us as football fans and for the Eagles who could continue to use a dangerous weapon like Sproles. The veteran back is set to be a free agent in 2019.

NFL - Tyree Jackson turning pro

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Buffalo QB Tyree Jackson has decided to skip his senior season in order to enter the 2019 NFL Draft.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson is a huge prospect, measuring in at 6'6" 245 pounds. Some in the scouting community say there is some Josh Allen (Bills) to his game because of his size, arm strength and surprising athleticism for a man his size. Jackson is likely to be a late-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft and any team that selects him should have a plan for his growth and development. Mainly, Jackson needs better accuracy as a passer and consistency to his game if he's going to be effective at the pro level.

PHI - QB Nick Foles could be traded

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to consider trading QB Nick Foles during the offseason, in order to allow the organization to smoothly transition back to franchise quarterback Carson Wentz for next year, according to multiple sources. They could decide to exercise his $20 million option or use the franchise tag on him.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Foles could fetch them at least one premium pick for 2019 and beyond. He should be starting in the league somewhere next season. His landing spot will determine how much fantasy value Foles has in 2019.

DAL - WR Allen Hurns recovering from surgery

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating previous reports, Dallas Cowboys WR Allen Hurns (ankle) has already undergone surgery on his dislocated ankle, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for Hurns here. Assuming there are no setbacks with his recovery, he is expected to be able to return to football by August. That being said, he may not be returning to the Cowboys. He has a cap hit of $6.2 million in 2019 with only $1.25 million in dead money. There's a good chance the Cowboys get out of his contract after only one season in Dallas.

NE - TE Jacob Hollister may not be available

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots TE Jacob Hollister (hamstring) has had trouble moving around during practice because of his hamstring injury and may not be available to play during the playoffs, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Mike Reiss.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hollister has talent as a move tight end but he does deal with his fair share of injuries....and oh yeah, he's behind Rob Gronkowski on the depth chart. We'll know more about Hollister's status for the Divisional Round during the week of practice.

PIT - TE Jesse James may test market

Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Joe Rutter

Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent TE Jesse James expects to receive interest from other teams this offseason and indicated that he will be fielding offers during free agency.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

James won't be the hottest name on the market at the tight end position but his all-purpose skill set should get him quite a bit of attention. He finished the 2018 season with 30 catches for a career high 423 receiving yards.

LAC - TE Hunter Henry expected to be activated

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Los Angeles Chargers TE Hunter Henry (knee) is expected to be activated from the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Jan. 7, with the Chargers advancing to the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chargers thought Henry could be back for the Wild Card Round but he wasn't quite ready. Now that they've advanced to the Divisional Round, Henry could be cleared to play. We'll be monitoring his practice status during the week.

HOU - WR Demaryius Thomas hopes to return

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Demaryius Thomas (Achilles') said he hopes to return to the Texans next season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas was traded to the Texans in 2018 and he made it through a few games before having his season cut short by an Achilles' injury. He's got a big cap number in 2019 and may have to restructure his deal if he wants to stay in Houston. Thomas is currently on the books for $14 million in 2019 but there is zero remaining in dead money. Expect him to rework his deal or get released this offseason.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins won't need surgery

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (shoulder) had his arm in a sling Sunday, Jan. 6, the day after suffering a Grade # AC joint sprain in a wild-card playoff loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Hopkins said he won't require offseason surgery.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for Hopkins here. He was limited most of the time on the injury report with various ailments all season long. Hopkins suffered a shoulder injury against the Colts and wasn't quite himself. We'll see him in the offseason program for the Texans and we'll also see Hopkins as a top wide receiver pick in 2019 fantasy drafts this summer.

I can’t believe Philly wants to trade Nick Foles. He’s the most valuable backup in the league and given that Wentz always seems to get hurt Foles is a pretty good insurance policy plus he wins big games. Someone would probably pay a premium to get him though so I guess there’s that.

Foles good as a backup. Too much for him to play at that level for a full season however

Eagles could probably get a king's ransom for Wentz...I think they have to at least consider that based on Foles play in the postseason the past 2 years.

Wentz is untouchable, look as the age gap between the two.

                Tuesday Update

LAC - TE Hunter Henry added to active roster

                Source: Chargers.com - Ricky Henne

Los Angeles Chargers TE Hunter Henry (knee) was activated to the 53-man roster from the Physically Unable to Perform list Monday, Jan. 7. LB Jatavis Brown (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list to make room for Henry on the roster.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Henry missed all of the 2018 regular season with this knee injury which he suffered in OTAs. He'll be on a snap count against the Patriots in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

GB - Matt LaFleur going to Green Bay

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur will be the next head coach of the Green Bay Packers, according to sources, beating out Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Todd Monken for the job.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

LaFleur is a bright, young offensive mind who can bring creativity to the Packers offense. He has experience working under both Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan. LaFleur was a first-year OC with the Titans this year and he got the offense going, working through injuries to Marcus Mariota and finally getting Derrick Henry unleashed. It's a high-risk, high-reward hire for the Packers.

BUF - Buffalo adds Duke Williams

                Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Free-agent WR Duke Williams (CFL) signed an undisclosed deal with the Buffalo Bills Monday, Jan. 7. Williams led the Canadian Football League with 1,579 receiving yards in 2018.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With the Edminton Eskimos this year (in 18 games), Williams posted 88 receptions for almost 1,600 yards (1,579) and 11 touchdowns. He measures in at 6'3" 225 pounds and can clearly handle a lot of targets. We'll monitor him in super deep dynasty leagues. Williams was undrafted out of Auburn in 2016 and spent a little bit of time with the Los Angeles Rams.

NFL - Dwayne Haskins declares for the draft

Source: The Record - Art Stapleton

Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins announced his intention to declare for the 2019 NFL Draft on Monday, Jan. 7.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Zero surprise here. Haskins could be the first QB taken off the board in the 2019 NFL draft, and there's a chance he could be selected in the top 10. He was a 70 percent passer for the Buckeyes in 2018 and threw 50 touchdowns with only 8 interceptions. Haskins thrives with shorter passing concepts and is still raw at the position with only one year experience as a starter in college.

PHI - WR Mike Wallace day-to-day

Source: Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles WR Mike Wallace (ankle) remains day-to-day, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if the speedster can get out there against the Saints in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Wallace participated in three limited practices leading up to the NFC Wild Card game against the Chicago Bears but he did not play. If Wallace does get on the field, he would see a limited amount of targets behind guys like Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor and Golden Tate.

HOU - WR Demaryius Thomas not ready to retire

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Demaryius Thomas (Achilles') told the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson he's 'not thinking about retirement' and 'would love to finish my career (with the Texans).'

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas wants to stay with the Texans and he's got one year left on his contract. It's a helluva year on paper as Thomas is set to make $14 million in 2019...but there is zero left in dead money on his deal. That means he'll either restructure with the Texans or get released.

NFL - David Montgomery coming out

                Source: Twitter

Iowa State junior RB David Montgomery declared for the NFL Draft Monday, Jan. 7.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Montgomery had 1,216 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns for the Cyclones this season, earning all-conference honors in the process. His game is all about breaking tackles. PFF records that Montgomery has led the FBS in broken tackles each of the last two seasons. Measuring in at 5'11" 215 pounds, Montgomery should get quite a bit of attention in the pre-draft process. He's an all-purpose back who ranked 10th in the FBS with 40 carries of 10 yards or more in 2018.

BAL - QB Robert Griffin III wants to stay

Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent QB Robert Griffin III said he would like to return to the Ravens next season.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Griffin should stick around for a good price. The Ravens are likely to move on from Joe Flacco in 2019 and go with Lamar Jackson as their starter. Griffin could be a good backup with a similar skill set behind Jackson.

MIA - Vic Fangio not meeting with Miami

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating previous reports, Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will not be interviewing for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching vacancy as previously reported.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Vangio is meeting with the Broncos on Monday. That's the only team that is interviewing him for a head coaching job.

CLE - Freddie Kitchens interview upcoming

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens will interview for the head coaching vacancy Monday, Jan. 7, or Tuesday, Jan. 8.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is the only head coaching job Kitchens is eligible for. The Browns have prevented other teams from interviewing Kitchens. He was a big reason for the Browns turnaround on offense once they let go of Hue Jackson and Todd Haley.

BAL - QB Lamar Jackson is QB1 going forward

Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will be the team's starter going forward, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Ravens will move on from Joe Flacco this offseason. Jackson is far from polished as a passer but that ability is there when he hones his game.

LAR - RB Todd Gurley to practice in full

                Source: TheRams.com

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) is expected to be a full participant in practice Tuesday, Jan. 8, according to head coach Sean McVay.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gurley should be back in action this week for the Rams. He's missed the last two weeks of the regular season and had a bye week to get more rest. We'll see C.J. Anderson play more of a reserve role with Gurley starting in the Divisional Round.

NFL - Alize Mack will turn pro

                Source: ESPN.com - Dan Murphy

Notre Dame TE Alize Mack announced he will enter the 2019 NFL Draft and skip his senior season.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mack is a fine tight end when healthy. Measuring in at 6'4" 247 pounds, Mack fought injuries through most of his college career. He's accepted an invitation to the 2019 Reese's Senior Bowl and could go as soon as the second round in the 2019 NFL draft.

NFL - Miles Boykin declares for NFL

                Source: Miles Boykin - Twitter

Notre Dame WR Miles Boykin announced that he will forgo his senior season and enter the 2019 NFL Draft.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Boykin was the Fighting Irish's leader in receptions (59), receiving yards (872) and receiving touchdowns (eight). He's got great size, measuring in at 6'4" 228 pounds and can certainly use his size to break down smaller defenders.

                    Wednesday Update

LAR - RB Todd Gurley limited Tuesday

                    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) practiced on a limited basis Tuesday, Jan. 8.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gurley had three weeks of rest to get his knee right. He missed the final two weeks of the regular season and had a bye to get as near full strength as possible. Gurley will lead the way on the ground with C.J. Anderson serving as a backup.

IND - TE Eric Ebron misses practice

                    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts TE Eric Ebron (hip) was held out of practice Tuesday, Jan. 9.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ebron is getting a bit of rest here. The Colts will need him as near full strength as possible against the Chiefs in the Divisional Round on Saturday.

IND - WR T.Y. Hilton not at practice

                    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (ankle) was not able to practice Tuesday, Jan. 9.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hilton does not practice yet he plays and produces at a high level. We'd be surprised if he was anything more than limited on Thursday and Friday. The Colts travel to play the Chiefs on Saturday in the Divisional Round.

ATL - Dirk Koetter back in Atlanta

                    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter was hired by the Atlanta Falcons Tuesday, Jan. 9, as their new offensive coordinator, according to a source. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Koetter is back in Atlanta where they need help after two failed seasons with Steve Sarkisian running the offense. The veteran coach knows the talent well as he was the Falcons OC from 2012-14. It's a good move for the Falcons and for Koetter.

TB - Bruce Arians joining Tampa Bay

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians is signing a four-year deal with a fifth-year option Tuesday, Jan. 8, to become the next head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to a source.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We love B.A. and are thrilled that he's back in the league. He's going to 'let it rip' on offense with QB Jameis Winston. Arians will have to lessen his quarterback's turnovers but they should put the pedal to the metal offensively.

KC - WR Sammy Watkins has limited practice

                    Source: Chiefs.com

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (foot) put in a limited practice Tuesday, Jan. 8.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's news when Watkins actually practices. We'll see if he can practice enough this week to get out there against the Colts on Saturday. If Watkins is playing in the Divisional Round, we'd expect a smaller than normal role for the veteran receiver.

KC - RB Spencer Ware logs limited session

                    Source: Chiefs.com

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (hamstring) was limited in practice Tuesday, Jan. 8.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ware should be good to go for the Divisional Round. The Chiefs are at home on Saturday against the Colts and Damien Williams should be their lead back. Ware would serve as a backup if/when he plays.

KC - WR Tyreek Hill practices fully

                    Source: Chiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill (heel) fully practiced Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Hill is looking to make a big impact in the playoffs. With a week of rest during the bye, we should see Hill at full strength (and speed). The Chiefs are at home to play the Colts on Saturday.

DAL - QB Dak Prescott on injury report

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (knee) was a full participant in practice Tuesday, Jan. 8.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Nothing to see here people. He's on the injury report but we highly doubt he misses the Divisional Round game this week. The Cowboys travel to Los Angeles to play the Rams on Saturday.

NFL - Lil'Jordan Humphrey declares for draft

                    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams

Texas WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey announced Tuesday, Jan. 8, that he will enter the 2019 NFL Draft.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Humphrey was the Longhorns leading receiver in 2018, finishing the year with 1,176 receiving yards. Measuring in at 6'4" 225 pounds, Humphrey has an imposing presence on the field. The NFL Draft Advisory Committee gave him a "return to school" grade (third-to-sixth round) but he's deciding to go pro. Testing well at the Combine would greatly help the young wideouts draft stock.

ARI - QB Kliff Kingsbury will coach Cardinals

Source: NFL Network - Peter Schrager

Former USC offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kingsbury was the OC for the Trojans for about a month. Now, his biggest task will be getting the best out of QB Josh Rosen. A former quarterback himself (Texas Tech), Kingsbury should bring an "Air Raid" offense to the NFL. The move has to be seen as a good one for Rosen after a disastrous rookie season that saw multiple coaches get fired. We'll see if Kingsbury can be a better pro head coach than he was a college head coach (35-40 record at Texas Tech).

DAL - Dallas optimistic about WR Cole Beasley

                    Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (ankle) was not participating in the open session of the team's practice Tuesday, Jan. 8.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if Beasley can participate later in the week. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said earlier in the day he was 'positive' Beasley would be able in Saturday's divisional-playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams.

LAC - RB Melvin Gordon has sprain

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) suffered a mild sprain in his knee during the Wild Card round but should be available for the Divisional round game.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chargers travel to New England to play the Patriots on Sunday. Expect to see Gordon out or limited during the week of practice. He's not 100 percent but he should see a sizable workload in the Divisional Round.

NE - Josh McDaniels staying put

Source: NFL Network - Michael Giardi

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels said 'the book is closed' on any further head coaching interviews, and he's staying with the team.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McDaniels did have an interview with the Green Bay Packers but they chose to go in a different direction. He returns to run the Patriots offense yet again and one day may be the coach to replace Bill Belichick...at least that's what everyone speculates.

CHI - TE Trey Burton injury note

Source: Chicago Sun-Times - Patrick Finley

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton (groin) said Monday, Jan. 7, that he missed the club's Wild Card playoff game Sunday, Jan. 6, after he 'started to feel something' in his groin following practice Friday, Jan. 4, despite initially having no limitations. By Saturday, Jan. 5, it had 'locked up,' which he said was his 'body's way of handling threats' to his health.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Burton signed with the Bears in free agency last spring and had 54 catches for 569 yards and six touchdowns in his first season in Chicago. If healthy in 2019 (and this injury should not linger into next season), Burton has TE1 upside for Fantasy GMs.

That had more to do with me than with them.
I will go back to my old drafting strategy next season instead of taking the highest ranked player available regardless of position. So no more Gronkowskis with last pick of second round.

                                Thursday Update

LAC - TE Hunter Henry has full practice

                                Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers TE Hunter Henry (knee) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Jan. 9.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Henry is going to be back this week for the Chargers. He missed all of the 2018 regular season with this knee injury, and we expect the Chargers to ease him back in action. Against the Patriots on Sunday, Henry should be on some sort of snap count.

CLE - Freddie Kitchens takes over in Cleveland

                                Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen

Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens was named the Browns' new head coach Wednesday, Jan. 9, according to sources. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kitchens has had a meteoric rise to this position...largely due to his work with QB Baker Mayfield. He took over playcalling duties for the Browns around midseason (Week 9) and the offense took off under his guidance. Kitchens clearly has a strong relationship with Mayfield, one which the Browns hope continues. Armed with multiple young playmakers, the Browns could be making a playoff run in 2019.

DEN - Vic Fangio hired by Broncos

                                Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Former Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio agreed to a four-year deal to become the next head coach of the Denver Broncos Wednesday, Jan. 9, according to a source. The deal includes a fifth-year option and financial terms were not disclosed.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fangio is an old school coach with a no-nonsense attitude. He should work to make the Broncos defense (which has some key pieces) elite in 2019. Fangio is going to get a lot of (needed) help on the offense from new OC Gary Kubiak. In a high-powered AFC West, the Broncos are just trying to prove they can get back on track. They have missed the playoffs each of the last three years and just registered back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since the early 70s.

LAR - RB Todd Gurley limited again Wednesday

Source: Ventura County Star - Joe Curley

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) was limited in practice for the second straight day Wednesday, Jan. 9.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gurley had three weeks to recover from this minor knee injury. He missed the final two games of the regular season and had a bye week to get more rest. Gurley is expected to get his normal (large) workload while C.J. Anderson will get more of a backup role.

NE - WR Cordarrelle Patterson works in full

                                Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) practiced in full Wednesday, Jan. 9.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Patriots are at home in the Divisional Round against the Chargers on Sunday. Patterson could do damage in that game as a runner, receiver or return man.

DAL - WR Cole Beasley uncertain for Saturday

Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram - Clarence E. Hill Jr.

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (ankle) is dealing with a high-ankle sprain which has cost him the first two days of practice this week.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Beasley is likely to be a game-time decision for the Divisional Round. The team is hopeful he can suit up Saturday, Jan. 12, against the Los Angeles Rams.

Dallas Cowboys TE Blake Jarwin (ankle) is battling a high-ankle sprain, which is why he missed practice the first two days this season.

Jarwin is likely to be a game-time decision for the Cowboys. The team is hopeful he can play against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday, Jan. 12.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill (heel) was able to go through a full practice session on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hill had the bye week to get some rest and with full practices this week he's ready to go. The Chiefs are at home to take on the Colts this Saturday in the Divisional Round. We're expecting a lot of points to be scored in this contest.

KC - WR Sammy Watkins does limited work

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (foot) went through a limited practice for the second straight day on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watkins played in 10 games this year for the Chiefs. We'll see if he can get out there on Saturday in the Divisional Round against the Colts. If Watkins does play, he's likely to be on a snap count.

KC - Limited practice for RB Spencer Ware

Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant for the second straight practice on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ware should be back in action against the Colts on Saturday. We'll see Damien Williams as the lead back for the Chiefs with Ware serving as his backup.

NO - WR Ted Ginn Jr. ready for Philly

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) practiced in full on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Saints are at home against the Eagles on Sunday in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Ginn sat out the Week 17 game for the Saints because it didn't mean anything as they'd wrapped up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. His speed and big-play ability should be on display this weekend.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery listed as limited

Source: NBC Sports Philadelphia - Dave Zangaro

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (ribs) was listed as a limited participant for the walk-through practice Wednesday, Jan. 9.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jeffery should be able to play his normal role against the Saints on Sunday. It will be an interesting matchup to see how he does against Saints CB Marshon Lattimore.

PHI - No practice for QB Carson Wentz

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) did not practice Wednesday, Jan. 9.

Nick Foles is going to start for the Eagles on Sunday in the Divisional Round against the Saints. We'll see if Wentz is wearing street clothes of if the team wants him as the backup to Foles. It's likely Nate Sudfeld serves as the backup to Foles once again on Sunday.

IND - TE Eric Ebron logs limited practice

                                Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts TE Eric Ebron (hip) put in a limited practice Wednesday, Jan. 9.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ebron has been limited for some time with this injury. He'll be limited in practice but still play...and he's been a touchdown hog for the Colts this season. Ebron could once again get in the end zone on Saturday in the Divisional Round against the Chiefs.

IND - No practice for WR T.Y. Hilton

                                Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (ankle) remained out of practice Wednesday, Jan. 9.

Hilton hasn't been practicing much over the last month or so...yet he still plays and produces at the expected level. There's no way he's going to miss the Divisional Round game against the Chiefs on Saturday.

TB - Todd Bowles chooses Tamp Bay

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Updating a previous report, former New York Jets defensive coordinator Todd Bowles agreed to a deal Wednesday, Jan. 9, to become the defensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bowles has worked with new Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians before with great results. Now, the two get to work together again with the task of turning the Bucs around.

LAC - RB Melvin Gordon not at practice

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) was sidelined from practice Wednesday, Jan. 9.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chargers are just giving Gordon as much rest as they possibly can. He's dealing with a minor knee injury, one that was tweaked a bit in the Wild Card Round against the Ravens. If Gordon has to be limited (a little bit) against the Patriots on Sunday, we should see more from guys like Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson.

TB - QB Jameis Winston the cornerstone of offense

                                Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston will be the focal point of the offense under new head coach Bruce Arians.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is going to be an interesting fit for the Buccaneers...and Fantasy GMs. Arians lauded the controversial quarterback, crediting his work ethic, intelligence, toughness and physical abilities. The veteran coach added that he has to put the right pieces around Winston. Arians is a noted 'quarterback whisperer' and has a lot of work to do in order to get the most from Winston.

CLE - Gregg Williams done with Browns

                                Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was fired Wednesday, Jan. 9, according to sources.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams was the interim coach for the Browns after Hue Jackson was fired and he led the team to a 5-3 record. We'll see if he can latch on with another team as the Browns hired Freddie Kitchens as their new head coach and let Williams go.

JAX - RB Thomas Rawls signs with Jaguars

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Free-agent RB Thomas Rawls (Bengals) signed an undisclosed deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars Wednesday, Jan. 9.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rawls has not been the same since his rookie season with the Seahawks back in 2015. He spent a few weeks with the Bengals in 2018 but didn't register a carry for them. Now, Rawls gets to try and impress with the Jaguars. We'll see if he can do enough to get a reserve spot on the 53-man roster but he is facing long odds.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert able to run

                                Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (ankle) has resumed running and is reportedly 'up to jogging 20 minutes at a time,' according to Bengals.com's Geoff Hobson.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eifert is set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. This news is good news for the veteran tight end but we imagine his market won't be white hot due to his long injury history. Eifert has appeared in only 14 games over the past three seasons and he's never played a full 16-game season since coming out of Notre Dame as a 2013 first-round pick.

The Philadelphia Eagles signed WR Marken Michel was signed to a Reserve/Futures contract Thursday, Jan. 10. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Undrafted out of UMASS in 2016, Michel (older brother of Patriots RB Sony) made a name for himself with the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL. Measuring in at 5'11" 190 pounds, Michel can work as an underneath receiver with the ability to make defenders miss in the open field. We'll monitor him in crazy deep dynasty leagues.

PHI - WR Mike Wallace logs limited practice Thursday

Philadelphia Eagles WR Mike Wallace (ankle) was limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Jan. 10.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wallace has only appeared in two games for the Eagles in the 2018 season. Coming off IR/Designated to Return, Wallace has yet to be active. We'll see if he can get the nod to play against the Saints in the Divisional Round. Even if Wallace does play, he'd only have a reserve role in the Eagles offense.

LAC - TE Hunter Henry takes part in practice

Los Angeles Chargers TE Hunter Henry (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 10.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Henry is back in action for the Chargers this week. He's likely to be limited in the number of snaps he plays against the Patriots as Henry missed all of the 2018 season due to this knee injury.

KC - WR Tyreek Hill ready to play

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill (heel) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 10, and is not on the injury report for the Divisional Round playoff game.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hill is good to go and his speed will be difficult for the Colts to match up with. Expect Hill to see his normal role on Saturday.

KC - Questionable tag for WR Sammy Watkins

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (foot) was limited during practice Thursday, Jan. 10, and is listed as questionable for the Divisional Round playoff game.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No word on whether or not we'll see Watkins out there on Saturday against the Colts. If he does, we'd imagine the Chiefs would have Watkins on some sort of snap count.

KC - RB Spencer Ware listed as questionable

                                      Source: Chiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Jan. 10, and is listed as questionable for the Divisional Round playoff game.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ware has been limited all week. He'll play against the Colts on Saturday (most likely) but it will be as the backup to Damien Williams.

DAL - TE Blake Jarwin questionable

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys TE Blake Jarwin (ankle) was not able to practice Thursday, Jan. 10, and is questionable.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jarwin is trending in the wrong direction. If he doesn't play, then rookie Dalton Schultz would get more time for the Cowboys.

DAL - QB Dak Prescott has full practice

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (knee) participated fully in practice Thursday, Jan. 10.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for Prescott here. He's on the injury report but Prescott has participated fully all week. The Cowboys travel to Los Angeles to play the Rams on Saturday.

LAR - RB Todd Gurley good to go

                                      Source: DallasCowboys.com

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) participated fully in practice Thursday, Jan. 10.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Gurley had three weeks to get some rest on his knee. He's going to start and should get his normal workload. The Rams starter over the last two weeks of the regular season, C.J. Anderson, should have more of a reserve role in the Divisional Round.

PIT - WR Antonio Brown won't be cut, could be traded

Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Gerry Dulac

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown will not be released this offseason, but team owner Art Rooney did not rule out the possibility of trading the star receiver.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown has not been in contract with the team since being deactivated for the Week 17 game. It sounds like this is headed for divorce, even though it would be painful for the Steelers salary cap. There is a roster bonus of $2.5 million due on March 17, so we might see him traded before then. Trading the veteran receiver would cost the Steelers $20.2 million against the 2019 salary cap.

The Colts WR corps is banged up heading into the Divisional Round. Ryan Grant (toe) has been ruled out with a toe injury, head coach Frank Reich said Thursday, Jan. 10. Inman and Chester Rogers will be asked to do more behind star wideout T.Y. Hilton.

IND - TE Eric Ebron logs full practice

Indianapolis Colts TE Eric Ebron (hip) was a full practice participant Thursday, Jan. 10.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ebron's presence is a huge boost for the Colts offense. He's a touchdown hog going up against a Chiefs defense that gives it up to tight ends like they're handing out Halloween candy. Ebron should be a big part of the Colts gameplan on Saturday.

IND - WR T.Y. Hilton remains sidelined

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (ankle) missed practice Thursday, Jan. 10, but was not listed with a designation despite not practicing all week.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hilton doesn't practice and he still plays. That's been the routine for the last few weeks as this ankle problem has continued. We're expecting him to play his normal role for the Colts on Saturday in the Divisional Round against the Chiefs.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette meets with Jags' brass

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette met with executive vice president Tom Coughlin and other members of the team's front office to clear the air regarding his up-and-down 2018 season and perceived negative attitude, according to sources.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fournette and the Jaguars seem stuck with each other for one more season. He's got a $7.4 million cap number in 2019 with $8.9 million remaining in dead money. The meeting seemingly went well for both sides and they are prepared to move in a positive direction.

DAL - WR Cole Beasley doesn't practice

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (ankle) missed practice Thursday, Jan. 10.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It would be a surprise if Beasley is available to play in the Divisional Round. He's likely a game-time decision for the game against the Rams on Saturday. If Beasley is down, then Noah Brown and Tavon Austin would be asked to do more.

IND - WR Ryan Grant to miss playoff game

This toe injury has sidelined Grant all week in practice. With him out in the Divisional Round against the Chiefs, we'll see more from guys like Chester Rogers and Dontrelle Inman.

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson will attend spring training with the New York Yankees for the second straight year, his MLB agent Mark Rodgers said Thursday, Jan. 10.

Nothing to see here people. Wilson has attended spring training before and doesn't miss any football time because of it. Back in 2010, Wilson was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the fourth round (140th pick overall) of the 2010 MLB draft. His rights were traded to the Yankees last year and he attended spring training in 2018.

NYJ - Gregg Williams has Jets' interest

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington

Former Cleveland Browns interim coach Gregg Williams is under consideration for the New York Jets' defensive coordinator spot, according to sources.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams did a good job as the interim coach for the Browns in 2018. It wasn't enough for him to land the permanent job and now he's looking elsewhere. Williams brings an aggressive defense no matter where he lands and the Jets have a few young, impact players on defense.

New York Jets TE Chris Herndon pleaded guilty to DWI on Tuesday, Jan. 9, stemming from an incident this past June 2 when he crashed his SUV into another vehicle.

The league is likely to step in and suspend Herndon at some point in 2019. Herndon will lose his license for 90 days as a result according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.

LAC - RB Melvin Gordon expected to play Sunday

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knees) is expected to play against the New England Patriots on Sunday, Jan. 13, according to head coach Anthony Lynn. Gordon did not practice Wednesday, Jan. 9.

Gordon is not at full strength but the team needs him out there in the Divisional Round. The Chargers travel to play the Patriots on Sunday and we might see a bit more of Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson with Gordon banged up.

NFL - Kyler Murray to play football?

Source: San Francisco Chronicle - Henry Schulman and Susan Slusser

Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray was drafted by the Oakland Athletics last year to play baseball, but the Athletics expect Murray to declare for the 2019 NFL Draft this weekend, according to sources.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Murray is an exciting player with the ball in his hands. The 2018 Heisman Trophy Winner took college football by storm with his rushing ability and ability to zip passes into all windows from multiple arm angles. There has been buzz about the Raiders loving his skill set and Murray could certainly be selected much earlier than some think in the 2019 NFL draft.

JAX - DJ Chark could push for starting job

Source: The Florida Times-Union - John Reid

Jacksonville Jaguars WR DJ Chark could compete for a starting receiver job next season if he can improve route running and pass catching, in the opinion of The Florida Times-Union's John Reid.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on this situation as we head into training camp this summer. Chark has speed to burn and he can be a downfield threat...provided the Jaguars have a quarterback that can perform.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (ribs) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 11, but is not on the injury report for the Divisional Round playoff game.

Jeffery's status was never really in doubt. We'll see if he can have a better game against the Saints than he did the last time around. In Week 11 against the Saints, Jeffery played 51 snaps, was targeted five times, caught four passes for just 33 yards.

PHI - WR Mike Wallace listed as questionable

Philadelphia Eagles WR Mike Wallace (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 11, and is listed as questionable for the Divisional Round playoff game.

Wallace has made it through two games this year...with only three targets and zero receptions. This ankle problem has plagued him for most of the year but he could make it onto the field in the Divisional Round. If Wallace does play, he's so far down the pecking order we're not expecting a lot of looks to go his way.

NO - WR Ted Ginn on track to play

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 11, and is not on the injury report for the Divisional Round playoff game.

Ginn has the speed to take it to the house anytime he touches the ball. The Saints are going to be tough to beat at home throughout the playoffs, including on Sunday against the Eagles in the Divisional Round.

Good news for the Chargers here. Gordon is far from 100 percent but he's going to play against the Patriots and should get his normal workload.

Henry is likely to play against the Patriots in the Divisional Round. He missed all of the 2018 regular season but is back for this game. We should see him quite limited in his first action since Week 15 of 2017.

'My feeling right now is to play with Cole Beasley,' Jones told 105.3 FM The Fan in an interview Friday. 'He's given every indication he can force himself through it. Right now, we're planning on having Cole Beasley.'

They can be optimistic but the reality is Beasley's playing status is a huge unknown for the Divisional Round. He should be considered a game-time decision.

They have replaced Marty Mornhinweg as the offensive coordinator and go with Roman in that spot. He'll be in charge of getting the most out of Lamar Jackson and the Ravens run-heavy attack. Roman has been an offensive coordinator before in the NFL with the 49ers and the Bills.

Mack is a complete back and he can run swiftly between the tackles. We'll see if he can build a head of steam against the Chiefs on Saturday.

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley finished his rookie season with numbers similar to what retired WR Marvin Harrison put up as a rookie. Ridley had 64 catches for 821 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2018, and Harrison had 64 catches for 836 yards and eight touchdowns in his rookie year.

Ridley had a fine rookie season and we're excited to see what he can do in his second season. The Falcons fired Steve Sarkisian as their offensive coordinator and hired Dirk Koetter in his place. The offense should see a boost with the new coach.

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum is still the starting quarterback for the time being, according to head coach Vic Fangio.

It's interesting to note that Fangio said 'right now' Keenum is their quarterback. The Broncos need to upgrade the offense and try to find a franchise quarterback if at all possible. Keenum is under contract for one more year but there is no guarantee he stays with the Broncos in 2019.

Winston had the third-most (14) interceptions in the league during the 2018 season. That's a number Arians will work diligently to bring down in 2019. The combination of Arians and Winston has the potential to be a good one.

Stanford RB Bryce Love (knee) tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee against California on Dec. 1 but is currently in rehab and on the 'path to recovery for the 2019 NFL Draft after undergoing surgery on Dec. 18 with Dr. James Andrews.

He chose to come back to Stanford for the 2018 season but ended up injured. Love is expected to make a full recovery but will not participate in the NFL Combine in late February. Love battled injuries for most of 2018 and it hurt his draft stock.

NFL - Josh Jacobs declares for draft

                                                Source: AL.com - Matt Zenitz

University of Alabama RB Josh Jacobs will enter the 2019 NFL Draft, sources said Friday, Jan. 11.

Jacobs is a good all-purpose back with explosive traits. Measuring in at 5'10" 215 pounds, Jacobs rushed for 640 yards and 11 touchdowns to go along with 20 catches for 247 yards and three TDs. He should be a second- or third-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft.

NFL - Irvin Smith Jr. coming out

Alabama TE Irvin Smith Jr. declared for the 2019 NFL draft Friday, Jan. 11.

We'll see Smith near the top of his class at the position in the 2019 NFL draft. Smith broke the Alabama single-season records for tight ends with 710 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He's seen as a move tight end with the upside to be a second-round pick.

Mahomes is a once in a generational type talent for sure. I told my relatives in KC who love their Chiefs that I thought he was the best QB in the draft when they took him 11th and so far he's proving me right. He has all the tools to deliver KC a Super Bowl championship even though their defense isn't their strong suit.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown will be the subject of trade offers this offseason. Numerous general managers believe the Steelers could obtain at least a second-round pick for Brown, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Brown may not fetch the first-round pick that Amari Cooper was worth to the Cowboys, but he's going to be highly sought after. Among the teams who could be interested in Brown are the Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets and Denver Broncos.

JAX - QB Ryan Tannehill may see interest from Jags

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill is one of the quarterbacks the Jacksonville Jaguars are considering pursuing this offseason, according to sources.

That sounds about right. The Jaguars are in need of an upgrade at the quarterback position. Blake Bortles has a $21 million cap hit in 2019 with $16.5 million in dead money. Expect the Jaguars to explore all options available at the quarterback position.

JAX - QB Nick Foles an option for Jaguars?

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles is one of the quarterbacks the Jacksonville Jaguars are considering pursuing this offseason, according to sources.

Foles is going to be one of the hotter names potentially on the open market. We'll see if the Jaguars are able to get an upgrade at the QB position so they can get away from Blake Bortles as their starter.

JAX - Jacksonville may pursue QB Joe Flacco

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco is one of the quarterbacks the Jacksonville Jaguars are considering pursuing this offseason, according to sources. Flacco is believed to be open to joining the Jaguars.

This move seems to make a ton of sense for both sides. Flacco is likely to get released by the Ravens as they move forward with Lamar Jackson as their starting quarterback. The Jaguars need to move on from Blake Bortles as their starter and Flacco could be their top target.

DEN - Denver interested in WR Antonio Brown?

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown is expected to receive interest from the Denver Broncos if he is placed on the trade block this offseason.

That would be an expensive move for any team interested...and the Broncos seem like an odd fit. First, they have Emmanuel Sanders as their no.1 receiver and he's in the final year of his contract. Second, they have second-year pros Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton as up-and-coming playmakers. To get Brown it would take a second-round pick (maybe more) and Denver doesn't have the most cap space at this time. Stay tuned.

Peyton Manning approves of this move. Gase had his best years as an offensive coach when he was working together with Manning in Denver. The coach failed to impress with the Dolphins, mostly because of personnel issues. The Jets have what they believe is a franchise quarterback in Sam Darnold, and Gase's most important task will be crafting an offense suited for their young starter.

He could easily return to the Lions where he's spent the last few years after coming out of South Dakota State as an undrafted free agent in 2015. Zenner rushed for 265 yards in 2018 with three rushing touchdowns and a career-high 4.8 yards per carry.

I think we got the 4 best teams in the league playing next week. Could not ask for better conference championship games imo.
