JAX - QB Blake Bortles falls short of Super Bowl
Source: The Associated Press
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 23-of-36 passes for 293 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, Jan. 21.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bortles was brilliant early, but couldn't find enough plays in the fourth quarter to put the game away or come back late once the Patriots recaptured the lead. The Jaguars will have a decision to make about whether to pay Bortles like a starter in an improved, but still uneven at times fourth season. Chances are he'll start for them next season.

OAK - Oakland talked with Kevin Sumlin
Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
The Oakland Raiders interviewed former Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin for their offensive coordinator position before they decided to hire Greg Olson as their offensive coordinator, according to a source.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Sumlin has since been hired as the head coach at University of Arizona. He would have been a fresh mind for Derek Carr, but instead the team went with a long time NFL offensive coordinator who was actually in the same position with the Raiders as recently as 2014.

NYG - GM wants QB Eli Manning to return
Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen
New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman reaffirmed his desire for QB Eli Manning to return to the team next season during a meeting with him earlier this month, according to sources. Gettleman also told Manning that the team will continue to scout the quarterbacks in the 2018 NFL Draft and compare them to QB Davis Webb.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Giants have the #2 pick in a class that has as many as four or even five first-round graded quarterbacks. Manning could return, but he should be a bridge to the team's first-round pick.

CLE - Cleveland talking with Todd Haley
Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen
The Cleveland Browns are talking with former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley about their offensive coordinator position, according to sources.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Haley has had success piloting both run and pass first offenses and would be a good choice to maximize the pieces the Browns have amassed, with the addition of a hand-picked quarterback this year. The wild card would be how his personality would fit with Hue Jackson, because Jackson is also an offensive coach.

ARI - Jim Caldwell could be OC candidate
Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
New England Patriots linebackers coach Brian Flores would target former Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell as his offensive coordinator if he is hired by the Arizona Cardinals as their new head coach, according to sources.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Caldwell had an amazing run as an offensive coordinator in Baltimore with Joe Flacco that led to a Super Bowl win in his last stint with that title. If Carson Palmer returns for 2018, Caldwell would have a vertical passing quarterback to fit the philosophy that worked during that run, but if Palmer doesn't return, he would have an uphill battle to have success.

MIN - Minnesota could interview Ben McAdoo
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
The Minnesota Vikings are expected to consider former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo for their soon-to-be vacant offensive coordinator position. He has also received interest from several other teams.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
McAdoo wasn't a smashing success with the Giants as an offensive coordinator or head coach, but he is a known quantity, which appeals to some.

MIN - Minnesota could interview Mike McCoy
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
The Minnesota Vikings are expected to consider former Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy for their soon-to-be vacant offensive coordinator position. He has also received interest from several other teams.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
McCoy has had a mixed record lately, overseeing a typically underachieving Chargers team as the head coach and a very disappointing Broncos offense this year. He did do good things with Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow in Denver before leaving to coach the Chargers, and would have an offense in Minnesota that won't need much in the way of adjusting, other than the question of who their starting quarterback will be next season.

WAS - Former GM critical of QB Kirk Cousins
Source: NFL.com - Jeremy Bergman
Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins isn't a 'special' player, according to former general manager Scot McCloughan. 'You just need to have some talent around him because you don't want him to be throwing the ball 35 to 40 times to win the game,' McCloughan said.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Cousins isn't special in the same way Drew Brees or Tom Brady is, but he is still one of the 12-15 best quarterbacks in the league by any measure, which means he'll be one of the highest paid players in the game and the centerpiece of a franchise. Whether he's a fantasy QB1 in 2018 will depend on his supporting cast, which is the gist of McCloughan's point.
