It's closer than you think.. sure, if I hadn't taken a -45, and instead took a +21 to put me up 160ish, then it may not be that bad but a few of my players are going to get starts skipped and off days so you'll have a chance to come back. Hell, the way my bullpen has been I may end up around 100 at this rate

Now Gilmartin puts up a -15 (-20 if he takes the L) for chico.. I'm at -6 for the day but so far added 5 to my lead.

Clearly our teams are heading in the wrong direction, we may be better off just benching everyone but a player or two.

Damn Darvish....if he had this performance last week, I'd be in the finals.

Guy has pissed me off ever since the day I paid for good tickets to see him pitch. Arrive at the ballpark only to find out he's been scratched because he had slept wrong the night before and had a crick in his neck.

I meant to make it to a Rays game this year, even have a voucher for free tickets when I gave the police everything they needed to arrest a guy who paid me with counterfeit money, but forgot about it and their last home game is tomorrow at 1 which I can't make it to.

chico going all out tomorrow. 5 starters going. Most likely Lester's last start of the year. Big day makes this interesting, especially since Giles may be done for the year because of a line drive he took off his hand in batting practice (seriously).

Wow....wake up to see that Jose Fernandez has died in a boating accident. What a sad, sad story. The kid was such a great talent.

I hate to sound selfish, but in one of my money leagues I really needed a start out of Julio Teheran (game has been cancelled). I am tied with Wins and that will probably decide the championship. Today's the last day of the league.

Jose's start had been pushed back to Monday. I'm pretty sure if it hadn't he wouldn't have been out on the water. Talk about bad luck.

Dude. I was reading the fantasy news on Jose and thought the same thing. That's not bad luck, injuring his throwing arm casting his line is bad luck.

this may be morbid, but perhaps this'll help me get back into the matchup. Hard to replace his production.

KLC posted a link to his instagram page. jose had his own boat Kaught Looking. he has a several pics of him catching awesome fish. therefore i'm sure he just thought this was another fishing trip. so sad.

as for you stealthy....my team will band together over this travesty and take you down. the veteran, jered weaver, came to me and said he wanted the ball in jose's absence. i expect a great outing from him.

That is very shocking. He seemed like a kid who loved life. They said his gf is pregnant. What a waste that only the good die young. I really liked this league. First year in this type of league and the only reason That i finished in top 4 is by cheating off paschal.I found out after the all star game when we played 2 weeks how important pitching was and my lack there off.It didn't help that strausburg got hurt and guerra got innings limit. Congrats astro because my team didn't match up. I would really love if the league stayed together but if people who weren't active after the all-star game leave it wouldn't bother us.

May have been an issue with ESPN's page. I know their fantasy football went down in Week 1. Try downloading the app if the webpage has issues (or vice versa)

The Rays had a moment of silence for Jose Fernandez before the game. Really is disappointing, barring injury he would have won, at least, a Cy Young and probably multiples. He still wasn't in his prime and may have been a Hall of Famer if he kept it up. Most definitely would have went over 300 strikeouts in a season a couple times. He also seemed pretty loyal to the Marlins and may have stuck around there for a long time.

Also, the fact that his wife is pregnant makes it even worse. Hopefully she'll be ok. I also hope that whoever decided to push his start to Monday doesn't feel like they caused it, since he probably wouldn't have been out so late if he started the next day.

On a different note, things are starting to get dicey for chico. Outstarted me 5 to 1 but was only able to make up 9 points. Can only start 7 more players before next Sunday and I have Kluber, Scherzer, Verlander, Manaea, and De Leon going on Monday & Tuesday. Going to need some bad starts out of them for chico to remain close, if they all do as well as I believe they will (100+ combined from the 5) then may push the lead to 200-220+ and pretty much lock it up for me.

This is all assuming my closers decide not to lose me 50 points in 16 hours again.

De Leon pushed back to tomorrow but made up the points I lost the past 2 days. Looking at around 145 with 2 possible saves for Giles and Dyson tonight. Arrieta/De Leon/Folty tomorrow. If I can stretch the lead to about 160 or 170 then I feel confident with 4 days left after tomorrow.

Chico going all out on Saturday. Going 6 SP's deep. May be down going into the final day but may have the #1 and #2 players (Scherzer and Verlander) going to try and come back. Can't ask for a better set up. Just have to hope the Nats don't shut down Scherzer and the Tigers haven't clinched a wildcard spot so they save Verlander for the WC game.

if i was a betting man....i'd be betting against scherzer pitching sunday (which means he'll probably pitch).

Originally, I thought that too. Then I saw the NLDS doesn't start until Friday. So he could start Sunday then be on normal rest for the playoffs. My guess is it'll be up to him, and he'd be going for 20 wins to help his Cy Young resume, which I'm sure gets him a hefty bonus.

Tigers game was PPD until Monday, so hopefully they don't push Verlander back to Monday.

Big day tomorrow. If chico can get a lead or get it close then I'll be forced to use streamers on Sunday, which could end up poorly. Hoping Scherzer and Verlander start, can't ask for a better 1-2 to try and win. We'll see, but pretty happy with my other guys going on Sunday as well.

Just need to make sure none of my relievers get a "spot" start of an inning to put me at 24 starts for the week. That would be bad. Very bad.

No, the playoffs run through tomorrow. Another reason running the fantasy league through the entire year is a bad idea.

I have to root for the Jays to win as if the Tigers are 87-73 and the Jays are 87-74 I expect the Tigers would go with Fullmer tomorrow and save Verlander for the game on Monday, if necessary, and if not they'd have him for the WC game.

Up for the first time in nearly 2 weeks, one day left and that's the post?

At least when this ends tomorrow I don't have to see chico saying he's going to lose everyday. His scrub squad of pitching misfits pulled horseshoes out their ass all day but Mad Max and Verlander going tomorrow, Manaea, then whomever I decide to use of my other mediocre guys (depending on line ups)
