Machado, he's gonna hit over 40 HR's in 2016.

Machado is a gamble with his injury history. I agree that Rizzo is the safest bet here.
If all stay healthy, not really a bad choice out of all of them. Hopefully you got one of them on the flip side too.

Reason why I started this thread is I wanted to get a feel from the fantasy yearly players how high they would select Correa, I'm reading in other places, not here, where some fantasy players would select Correa top ten, which I totally disagree with, and looks like you guys do as well.
Will Correa be an elite SS?
Probably, but I remember Asdrubal Cabrera was supposed to be the next big SS almost a decade ago and I said the same thing, can we wait a full season or so before we dub As-Cab the next big anything?
Correa hasn't even played in 100 regular season games yet, you got a top ten pick you can not select an unproven, what Carlos has done in 99 games is a head turner for sure, but still doesn't make him a proven big time SS yet, he probably will be, but still has a lot to prove.
Me? If I have a shot a Machado at pick 9, I'm on him like stink on shit, Machado if healthy hits 40 jacks this year.

correa could certainly be a top 5 player if he continues to break out and because of the shortstop availability. however, if you normally do well in your league, i'd go with the safe pick knowing that you will continue to pick well throughout the draft. whereas if you normally are in the bottom half (because you play with sharp players), you may want to go with correa for the gamble.
drafts aren't normally won in the first 5-6 rounds (most of those players are pretty solid), they are won in the later rounds and FA acquisitions.

I'm not so sure, sophomore jinx and all that.
Pitching becomes much more difficult the second time around.

There's no such thing as a sure thing. I'd go
Machado
Correa
Rizzo
Bautista
I try to take position scarcity into account when drafting at least a little bit.

Or statistic scarcity (stolen bases) then you consider Correa with your 9th or 10th pick if the Altuve's stc. etc. are off the board.
You ain't winning a big boy 5 x 5 league without those SB's, which Correa can supply.
Speed never slumps.
You know you are going to get 25 swipes from CC, but are you going to get the guaranteed homers that a Rizzo or Joe Bats etc. can give you, that's my concern with Correa, how real is the power.

i watched enough correa hit balls bounce off way up high on the facade in left, and clear the tracks as well, to know the power is real
Tristan H. Cockcroft helps you get ready for the season with his his fantasy baseball rankings for 2016.

I thought about Correa. It's really close for me with those two. I'd pass on Rizzo and Bautista there.
