Green Bay Packers RB James Starks was named the lead running back over RB Eddie Lacy (groin), according to head coach Mike McCarthy. 'I would say James Starks is our No. 1 back right now,' McCarthy said.

DEN - QB Manning Dealing With Foot Soreness

Quarterback Peyton Manning sat out Wednesday's Broncos' practice, but not just for his typical rest day. He has a foot injury that coach Gary Kubiak said Manning's been dealing with for a while.

He considers Manning day-to-day and hopes he will be able to practice Thursday. "It's real sore coming off the turf. It's been really sore for a couple weeks now," Kubiak said about Manning's foot. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Manning downplayed the injury saying everyone is sore at this point in the season. But we'll keep an eye on this one.

CHI - RB Matt Forte likely out again

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) is not expected to play in Week 10 against the St. Louis Rams despite being limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 11. Head coach John Fox said Forte is day-to-day and continues to be evaluated. RB Jeremy Langford had 142 yards of total offense in Week 9 against the San Diego Chargers.

TEN - RB David Cobb's workload unknown

Tennessee Titans RB David Cobb (calf) was activated from the short-term Reserve/Injured list this week, but interim head coach Mike Mularkey is unsure how much Cobb might play moving forward. Cobb has battled weight issues recently, but he said that he's down to 225 pounds. With Cobb back on the roster, Mularkey left open the possibility that RB Bishop Sankey could be inactive in Week 10 against the Carolina Panthers.

Lacy is averaging just 3.7 yards per carry on 83 rushes for just 308 yards this year and has been demoted in favor of RB James Starks heading into Week 10 against the Detroit Lions. Lacy hasn't had more than 38 rushing yards this year.

In the dual of 2014 NFL Draft picks, we give the edge to Derek Carr. Bridgewater will be a shaky QB2 start this weekend not so much because of the matchup as it is because Bridgewater just doesn't put up that many yards - the last two weeks have seen him throw for less than 200 yards each game and last week he didn't even throw a touchdown.

He was seen walking through the locker room without a limp Thursday, Nov. 12, despite missing practice. The Bears are hopeful he can bounce back and play in Week 10 against the St. Louis Rams.

We're not sure what to expect from Forte. The Bears have little to no hope of competing for the playoffs and almost might as well rest Forte until he's 100 percent while they see what Jeremy Langford is fully capable of. Langford is a decent RB2 if he is the lead back. We think he'd get carries even if Forte plays, which would hurt both their chances of producing good points though.

Manning isn't very mobile anyway, so this doesn't make a big difference save they might not use many of those roll-outs and bootlegs we've been amused by for a few weeks. The offense is shaky despite the game they had against the Green Bay Packers a couple of weeks back—we know they'll score some points but Manning is prone to turnovers and long periods of underwhelming play in the game, balanced with some outstanding series. We have him as a QB2 this week against Kansas City and mark this as a fascinating game to watch given they are coming off a huge loss.

It doesn't particularly speak well of their confidence in Johnny Manziel at this point. McCown, while not an incredible quarterback, is more consistent than Manziel and could offer them the most likely chance to win, even if Manziel has higher upside. Neither is a great play in any format and we'd avoid them as anything more than a low-end QB3.

Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah's diminished role in recent weeks has been a product of game situations and not because of the fumbling problems that he's had in his rookie season. 'Every game's a little different, and I think some games you'll see him with the ball in his hands a little bit more, some games (you'll see) Joique Bell and Theo Riddick,' head coach Jim Caldwell said. 'I think you'll see them carry it some as well. So it just kind of depends on the ball game as to how we approach it.' Abdullah had a season-low five snaps in the Week 8 game against the Kansas City Chiefs and finished with one carry for only three yards. He has only 201 yards and four fumbles since his 24-yard touchdown run on his first carry in Week 1.

Fitzgerald is playing mostly out of the slot this year, so Seahawks CBs Cary Williams or DeShawn Shead would need to be used on the outside if Sherman matches up with Fitzgerald.

This makes it much more likely Hurns will play on Sunday. There's risk that he won't perform up to his usual level, but he has an outstanding matchup against the Ravens and his usual level has been a strong WR2 this year, so there's a larger margin for error.
