NO - QB Drew Brees has bruised rotator cuff

    Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen

Updating previous reports, New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees' (shoulder) MRI revealed a bruised rotator cuff in his shoulder, according to sources. Dr. James Andrews is scheduled to look over the MRI for a second opinion.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Previous reports have this listed as a "minor" injury. A bruised rotator cuff certainly doesn't sound minor. We'll see if Brees can practice and play in preparation for the Saints Week 3 game against the Panthers.

CHI - QB Jay Cutler out at least two weeks

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler (hamstring) will miss at least two weeks because of the hamstring injury he suffered in Week 2, according to sources.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Jimmy Clausen will be the starting quarterback for the time being. The loss of Cutler is a downgrade for all skill position players on the Bears roster. They travel to Seattle in Week 3 to take on a hungry 0-2 Seahawks. Good luck with that.

ATL - No timetable for RB Tevin Coleman
    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Andrew Hirsh
Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (rib) will be held out of practice through Thursday, Sept. 24, and his status will be updated Friday, Sept. 25, according to head coach Dan Quinn. Quinn said there is no timetable for Coleman because his return will depend on his pain threshold.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Rib injuries often come down to pain tolerance. It's an injury that is known to linger if not given enough time to heal. It's a disappointment for a talented rookie we enjoyed watching on Sundays. Without him on the field, the team will turn to Devonta Freeman.

GB - RB Eddie Lacy may play in Week 3

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy's (ankle) ankle injury is considered minor, and he has a chance to play against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on this situation. Monitor Lacy's practice reports during the week...mainly on Friday to get a feel for his playing status.

DET - QB Matthew Stafford looking better

    Source: ESPN.com - Michael Rothstein

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (chest, ribs, elbow) was spotted in the locker room Monday, Sept. 21, moving around better than he was after the game Sunday, Sept. 20, and he didn't appear to have wraps on his chest or ribs. However, his left elbow was still bandaged, and the Lions are waiting on the results of his X-rays. Stafford said, 'I feel OK' when asked if he will play in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The game isn't until Sunday night, so have a better option at the ready. Watch Stafford's practice reports as the week goes on.

CLE - CLE starting QB to be decided

    Source: ESPN.com - Pat McManamon

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns QBs Josh McCown (concussion) and Johnny Manziel don't know who will start Week 3 yet. McCown is still going through the league's concussion protocol, while Manziel just led the Browns to a Week 2 win. Head coach Mike Pettine said he will meet with offensive coordinator John DeFilippo and quarterbacks coach Kevin O'Connell to discuss the quarterback situation.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCown doesn't offer much when the play breaks down, and that's Manziel's hallmark. However, McCown is better at running the offense while Manziel loves to improvise. We'll know more about their decision in the coming week.

HOU - RB Arian Foster day-to-day

    Source: HoustonTexans.com - Drew Dougherty

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (groin) is considered day-to-day as he continues to recover from offseason groin surgery.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Foster did not play in Week 2, but his return is oh-so-close. Watch the practice reports to get an indication of whether or not he'll play in Week 3. The Texans play at home against the Buccaneers this week, and that would be a great game to get Foster back in action.

STL - RB Todd Gurley may be game-time decision

    Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner

St. Louis Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) is still considered week-to-week and likely will be a game-time decision for the Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Steelers "Beaded Curtain" defense isn't strong, so introducing Gurley this week might make sense. The Rams have wisely been cautious with Gurley so far, and we're not expecting that to change. They'll continue to monitor him closely in practice before making a decision about his playing status.

DAL - Dallas looking at available QBs

Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora

Free-agent QB Josh Johnson (Jets) is one of the quarterbacks that will be working out for the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have also reached out to free-agent QB Jason Campbell (Bengals), but it appears he will remain retired at the moment.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cowboys need a backup behind Brandon Weeden while Tony Romo is out. Johnson has good athleticism, but accuracy as a passer has always been a problem for him.

PHI - RB DeMarco Murray can't find running room

    Source: ESPN Stats and Information

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray has been contacted 0.1 yards behind the line of scrimmage on average during his first two games with the Eagles. Murray was not hit until he was 2.8 yards past the line of scrimmage on average last season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's just a tiny bit unfair to compare the Cowboys O-Line to what Murray is running behind this year with the Eagles. Murray has minus-2 yards before contact this year, and only 13 yards after contact over the first two games of the season. Yes, it's that bad. Fantasy owners are going to be scrambling for help at the position until we see the Eagles look like the high-powered offense most were expecting.

DAL - QB Brandon Weeden will be the guy

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Dallas Cowboys QB Brandon Weeden will fill in if QB Tony Romo (clavicle) misses time as the team is not seeking to trade for a quarterback.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Alrighty then. The Weeden era may only last a couple of months, but it will be important for him to keep the team on a winning track until Romo gets back. We expect the team to lean on their offensive line and rushing attack. Early on, it seems like Weeden has a good connection with WR Terrance Williams and TE Jason Witten. We'll know more about his target preferences the more he plays.

CIN - Fumbling an issue for RB Jeremy Hill

    Source: ESPN.com - Coley Harvey

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill has seven fumbles in 18 career NFL games. The fact that Hill was benched in favor of RB Giovani Bernard, who ran 20 times for 123 yards in Week 2 against the San Diego Chargers, further hammered home the point for Hill. 'We can't have the back fumbling the football,' head coach Marvin Lewis said. 'Jeremy's a talented young player and we've got to keep the football. That wasn't part of his deal last year and we can't let it creep in.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hill needs to hang onto the rock if he wants to earn back the trust of the coaching staff. It was a problem for him last year as a rookie as he had five fumbles in 2014. Gio Bernard looked fantastic in place of Hill, and the team could turn to him instead of Hill if the fumbling issues continue. At the very least, the Bengals could use more from Bernard than originally thought.

PHI - ILB Kiko Alonso may miss rest of season

    Source: FOXSports.com - Mike Garafolo

Philadelphia Eagles LB Kiko Alonso (knee) could miss the rest of the 2015 season because of a knee injury he suffered during the team's Week 2 game, according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Alonso is a talented player, but he's a regular target for the injury bug. In the game against the Cowboys on Sunday, Alonso hurt the same knee that cost him all of 2014 with a torn ACL. It would be a huge blow to the Eagles defense if Alonso missed significant time with another knee injury.

DEN - RB C.J. Anderson running out of time

Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (ankle, toe) figures to have one more game to secure the starting running back job in Denver, in the opinion of The Denver Post's Troy Renck. Anderson is dealing with toe and ankle soreness but says he's fine. He's also received no help from a bad offensive line. RB Ronnie Hillman is better at finding holes, but his 75 yards on 21 carries in two weeks isn't all that impressive, either. Hillman may have earned more time and is a good fit in the zone-blocking scheme, having run it in college for two years. Head coach Gary Kubiak won't abandon the run, and a real evaluation of the run game and position will come when the offensive line settles down.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Anderson may say he's fine, but he doesn't look like the back who led the league in rushing over the final six weeks of the 2014 season. The Broncos could go with a "hot hand" approach at running back, which would be a huge headache for fantasy owners. Hillman has the speed, but he doesn't generate yards after contact. Anderson is more powerful, but he doesn't look quite right yet after suffering an injury in Week 1. The offensive line isn't doing anyone any favors right now. Avoid this situation until we get more clarity on who "the man" is for Denver.

ARI - RB David Johnson fine with role

Source: FOX Sports 910 Radio - Mike Jurecki

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson said he continues to learn the offensive playbook and is fine with the role he has on offense.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson may be fine with his role, but fantasy owners want to see more from the talented rookie. His straight-line speed was on display as he scored two touchdowns on Sunday. Even when Andre Ellington comes back from injury, we'd like to see Johnson worked into the mix a little more.

ARI - RB Chris Johnson remains starter

Source: FOX Sports 910 Radio - Mike Jurecki

Arizona Cardinals RB Chris Johnson will continue to be the starting running back while RB Andre Ellington (knee) is sidelined, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Arians is a pretty honest coach, so take him at his word. While Chris Johnson continues as the starter, we could see rookie David Johnson worked in with a larger role.

SF - RB Carlos Hyde has thigh injury

    Source: ESPN - Ed Werder

San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde (thigh) suffered a thigh contusion during the team's Week 2 game and will be monitored this week, according to head coach Jim Tomsula.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners were looking for Hyde to have a big week before he was injured. Now, we'll have to see if he can practice this week as the 49ers prepare to travel for a game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3. A banged up Hyde could have trouble finding running lanes against the Cardinals. Consider him a RB3/flex if he plays.

BUF - WR Sammy Watkins rebounds

    Source: NFL

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins caught six passes for 60 yards and a touchdown against the New England Patriots in Week 2. Watkins had been held without a catch in Week 1.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The gamescript unfolded where Buffalo had to play catch-up football. That led to Watkins getting more targets and production in Week 2. The Bills want to run the ball often and have a conservative passing game. Keep this in mind when considering Watkins as a starter for your fantasy team.

CAR - WR Jerricho Cotchery has high ankle sprain

Source: Charlotte Observer - Joseph Person

Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery (ankle) suffered a high ankle sprain during the team's Week 2 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Panthers passing game is not overly potent, so most fantasy owners won't be have Cotchery on the roster. Cotchery was able to return to the game after suffering the injury, so the team is hoping Cotchery will be able to play in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints.

                Wednesday Update

DAL - Dallas acquires QB Matt Cassel

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Buffalo Bills QB Matt Cassel was acquired by the Dallas Cowboys Tuesday, Sept. 22, according to a source.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cowboys need all the help they can get at the quarterback position, and that's why they make the move here. Cassel will provide the team with valuable veteran depth behind Brandon Weeden.

NYJ - WR Eric Decker won't need surgery

                Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Eric Decker (knee) won't need season-ending surgery on his knee and is listed as day-to-day with a sprained posterior cruciate ligament.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for Decker and the Jets here. The Jets don't know if Decker will be able to play in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Decker will be re-evaluated later in the week, but he indicated he doesn't plan to rush through this injury.

NYJ - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will remain starter

Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is the starting quarterback no matter when QB Geno Smith (jaw) is healthy enough to return, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Nobody should really be shocked by this. Fitzpatrick put up the best numbers of his career under Chan Gailey when the two worked together in Buffalo. He knows the Gailey system like the back of his hand, and Fitzpatrick makes for a waiver-wire quarterback to add if you need help at the position. Depending on the matchup, he could post decent numbers.

DAL - TE Jason Witten may miss Week 3

                Source: ESPN - Ed Werder

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten (ankles, knee) isn't a lock to play against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3, according to a source.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Just what the Cowboys didn't need--another injury to a big-name player. With Brandon Weeden at quarterback, this Cowboys passing game is not going to be quite as robust. Gavin Escobar should take over as the lead tight end if Witten is out.

NYG - WR Victor Cruz says he's pain-free

                Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Ohm Youngmisuk

Updating a previous report, New York Giants WR Victor Cruz (calf, knee) said he's pain-free after running on grass Tuesday, Sept. 22. However, he didn't take part in practice Tuesday and hasn't done so in weeks. The more likely scenario is that he returns to practice next week barring a setback. The Giants said the release of WR Preston Parker has nothing to do with how close Cruz is to returning.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Giants have a short week as they play against Washington on Thursday night. Cruz recently said that blood was discovered in his calf, but the swelling is down and he no longer has pain. The Giants want Cruz to be cautious with his injuries.

ARI - RB Andre Ellington running

                Source: FOXSports.com - Alex Marvez

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (knee) is running again, but he probably won't be able to play in Week 3.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's a good sign for Ellington. While he works his way back, the team will continue to use veteran Chris Johnson as their feature back. However, rookie David Johnson has certainly done enough to get more touches. Head coach Bruce Arians said he's hopeful Ellington will be able to return in Week 4 against the St. Louis Rams.

                CHI - Roster moves made

Source: Chicago Tribune - Brad Biggs

Chicago Bears QB David Fales was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster Tuesday, Sept. 22. Free-agent WR Deonte Thompson (Bills) and free-agent CB Demontre Hurst (Bears) were signed to the practice squad.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bears have to be concerned about the hamstring injury to Jay Cutler. If needed, Fales would provide the team with a backup quarterback behind Jimmy Clausen.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers throwing shorter passes

                Source: ESPN.com - Kevin Seifert

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers' passes are only going 6.43 yards through the air this year. That's the fifth-lowest in the NFL and 7.89 yards shorter than last season.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers lost one of his best targets when WR Jordy Nelson went down with a knee injury in the preseason. Without Nelson, Rodgers is comfortably picking apart opponents on underneath routes.

HOU - Running game lacking for Houston

                Source: ESPN.com - Kevin Seifert

Houston Texans RBs Alfred Blue, Chris Polk, Jonathan Grimes and the Texans' offense rank 24th in the NFL with 44 rushing attempts so far this year. They lead the league at 105 pass attempts.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Texans aren't running the ball well--but it's okay--Arian Foster should be back soon. He's considered day-to-day at this time.

NYJ - RB Chris Ivory feeling sore

                Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (groin) is feeling real sore and still dealing with his groin injury following Monday night's win against the Indianapolis Colts, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ivory was a bit banged up going into the game, and that's why we saw Bilal Powell get more work. So long as Ivory is banged up (which happens a lot), then we should continue to see Powell worked in.

DEN - Denver struggling to find running room

                Source: ESPN.com - Kevin Seifert

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson and the Broncos' running backs are averaging 1.48 yards before contact per run through the first two weeks of the 2015 season. That's the second-worst figure in the NFL.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Anderson is banged up (toe/ankle), and that's why he's not looking the same. The problems on the offensive line certainly don't help. We'll see if Denver can get the rushing attack jump-started against the Lions on Sunday night in Week 3.

CLE - QB Josh McCown could be cleared soon

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns QB Josh McCown (concussion) came close to passing his concussions tests Friday, Sept. 18. It looks promising that he will be able to do so this week, according to a source. McCown will need to be cleared by an independent neurologist in order to play. An update on McCown's status is expected before practice Wednesday, Sept. 23.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

So if McCown is cleared, then is he the starter? That's what the Browns have to determine this week. Johnny Manziel is good at improvising, but McCown is better at running the offense as designed. This could be a situation that goes back and forth more than once this season.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief developing

Source: The Indianapolis Star - Stephen Holder

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief is running a wider range of routes this season and is developing into more than a deep threat.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Moncrief is fearless when running routes over the middle, and his size makes it tough to bring him down. He's also capable of running deep routes, and he does a good job of tracking passes over his shoulder. Moncrief is the playing the role that some thought Andre Johnson would for this offense. Start him as a WR2/flex play in Week 3 against the Titans.

The Jets are looking for wide receiver help now that Eric Decker (knee) is banged up.

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman is expected to start against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3 with RB Tevin Coleman (ribs) possibly out a couple of games.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Freeman runs hard, but he generates few yards after contact. He's a good receiver out of the backfield, and he does a good job in pass-protection. Freeman is more of a RB3/flex play going forward.

PHI - ILB Kiko Alonso's season still in limbo

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating an earlier report, Philadelphia Eagles LB Kiko Alonso (knee) could still opt for season-ending surgery on the partial tear of his left anterior cruciate ligament.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bad news for the talented linebacker here. He'll consider all options, but perhaps missing another season is what ends up happening. Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) is also banged up, and that makes DeMeco Ryans and rookie Jordan Hicks the inside linebackers that Philly has to turn to.

STL - RB Todd Gurley won't be rushed

Source: St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Joe Lyons

St. Louis Rams RB Todd Gurley's (knee) timetable won't be rushed by the team stagnant running game thus far, according to head coach Jeff Fisher. 'No,' the coach answered emphatically. 'Todd's going to play when he's ready to play. It's a non-factor. I've been saying this since he got here: When he's ready, he's going to play, regardless of what's happening around him. But he is getting closer.'

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thank goodness! The Rams are wisely being safe with Gurley as he returns from the knee injury that cut his final season at Georgia short last year. Gurley has superstar potential when healthy, and the team does not need to rush him back. Depending on how he looks in practice, Gurley may have his NFL debut this week against the Steelers.

Good thing Dallas has a 2-0 division record because Weeden and Cassell form the worst qb duo in NFL, and that is saying a lot considering how many bad ones there are.

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 23.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is not a great sign for Hopkins availability. He'll have to go through the league's concussion protocol before returning to the field. Check back to see if he's cleared before the team's game on Sunday against the Buccaneers.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell will take over the lead rushing duties after he returns from his suspension in Week 3 against the St. Louis Rams, with RB DeAngelo Williams backing him up.

Plug him into your lineup as a set-it-and-forget-it RB1 this week against the Rams. The Steelers are expected to use Bell's elite pass-catching abilities all over the field this weekend.

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (groin) is looking really good at practice, according to head coach Bill O'Brien. 'I'm not sure about this week. He will be back sooner rather than later,' O'Brien said.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Foster is set to return in the near future. While he may not play in Week 3, we'd expect Foster to be back perhaps as earlier as Week 4.

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is considered questionable for Week 3 against the New York Jets.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Murray is banged up and going against a tough Jets defense (if he plays) this week. No thanks. We'll find running back help elsewhere.

PHI - RB Ryan Mathews in line to start?

                                Source: ESPN.com - Phil Sheridan

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews would likely start at running back in Week 3 against the New York Jets if RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) can't suit up. RB Darren Sproles is also available.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Eagles have a tough matchup against the Jets in Week 3. Do not fall all over yourself to get Mathews into the lineup if Murray is out. We'd like him as a RB2/RB3 if he was the Eagles starter.

BAL - RB Justin Forsett's role worrisome

                                Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett only had 42 snaps in Week 2 against the Oakland Raiders, which was only seven more than backup RB Lorenzo Taliaferro. Forsett said he was limited by the team's running back rotation and not by injury. Taliaferro served as the primary red-zone runner and scored the Ravens' only rushing touchdown so far this year.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Message! Fantasy owners need to be dialed in here. Forsett has to be considered a mid-range RB2 against the Bengals in Week 3. The Ravens are 0-2 and need to get back on the winning track. Perhaps using more Forsett is the recipe for success.

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (calf, hamstring) is day-to-day with a calf and hamstring injuries that kept him out in Week 2. However, Jeffery's injuries are considered minor, and he is likely to return in the coming weeks.

                                Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Cleveland Browns QB Josh McCown (concussion) has cleared the concussion protocol and will start Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders. QB Johnny Manziel heads back to the bench.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is something that could go back and forth all season long. With McCown as the starter, it takes off the shine that WR Travis Benjamin was building catching passes from Manziel. We're avoiding the assets of the Browns offense with McCown under center. Isaiah Crowell is nothing but a RB3/what-the-heck flex play in Week 3 against the Raiders.

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham is upset with his role with the Seahawks and has complained to teammates, according to sources. Graham is being used to block and serve as a decoy and only had two targets in Week 2.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

What was Graham expecting? The Seahawks have offensive line problems, which means he's going to have to stay in and block more than he may want. The Seahawks are also one of the league's most run-heavy teams. It's no mystery that they'd want to continue rushing the rock. On the other hand, what in the world is OC Darrell Bevell thinking? Jimmy Graham is one of the best tight ends in the game, and this team needs to make him the most-targeted player on the offense. We'll see if they start doing that going forward.

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) will test his ankle in practice Thursday, Sept. 24, as the team prepares for its Week 3 game Monday, Sept. 28, against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 23.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is a good sign for Evans. It's a sign that some fantasy owners will need to consider him as a WR2 this week against the Texans. Plugging him in as a WR2--or even as a flex play--helps negate some of the risk that comes with him as returns from this injury.

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 23. The extent of Forte's knee injury is unknown.

We're not stoked about the Bears matchup against the Seahawks this week. Forte is still a RB1 for fantasy owners, but production may be tough to come by on Sunday.

Bush's status for Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals is unknown. Even if he's healthy enough to play, we're not trusting him against that Cardinals defense.

We've seen over two weeks that rookie QB Marcus Mariota prefers to target his tight ends. Watch to see if Walker can practice fully on Friday. If he doesn't play, then we'll see Anthony Fasano in Walker's place.

MIA - TE Jordan Cameron does not practice

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 23.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cameron is a talented player, but he does get banged up quite a bit. During his career, Cameron has never played a full 16-game season. If he misses Week 3, then the Dolphins would turn to Dion Sims as their starter. Fantasy owners need to have another option in place.

Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 23.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cotchery suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 2, and this could be an injury that lingers for a few weeks. When the Panthers use three-wide receiver sets, rookie Devin Funchess could see the field a bit more.

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (quadriceps) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 23.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Some things never change. Ivory is a talented back, but he sure is banged up quite a bit. He may play against the Eagles in Week 3, but the team is likely to use plenty of Bilal Powell to help Ivory.

This week against the Dolphins, we like Taylor as a low-end QB1. He should be able to take advantage of a defense that has not yet played up to its potential.

This is a good sign that Stafford is going to play on Sunday night against the Broncos. However, against the tough Broncos defense fantasy owners should be making other plans at quarterback.

Fantasy owners in deep leagues need to keep an eye on this Baltimore RB situation. Taliaferro is the backup to Justin Forsett, but he's the team's primary red-zone back and only played seven fewer snaps than Forsett against the Raiders in Week 2.

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota's (ankle) injury isn't believed to be serious.

Mariota has had an up-and-down start to his pro career. Against the Colts in Week 3, we can only recommend the rookie as a QB3.

SD - RB Melvin Gordon to be used often?

San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon ranks 10th in the league with 139 rushing yards after two games, and he's averaging 4.6 yards per carry. The Chargers want to continue to emphasize the running game to set up QB Philip Rivers and the aerial attack. The Minnesota Vikings, their Week 3 opponent, allowed 230 rushing yards in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers but held the Detroit Lions to just 38 yards rushing in Week 2.

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Vikings laid down in Week 1, but they showed better fight in Week 2. The Chargers have been working Gordon more and more into the gameplan. Expect them to continue that trend. We like the rookie as a RB3/flex option in Week 3.

It's a short week for the team, but not for Cruz as he has yet to play this year. The Giants will continue to ease Cruz along as he comes back from this nagging calf injury.

Due to his injury and this matchup, we're recommending Miller as more of a low-end RB2/flex play in Week 3.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant has been undergoing treatment for the issues that led to his four-game suspension, according to a team source. Bryant reportedly failed multiple tests for marijuana use.

Bryant is going to return after his four-game suspension, and fantasy owners should add him and sit on him if he's available on the waiver wire right now. The Steelers have one of the league's most explosive offenses, and Bryant is going to be a big part of that when he returns.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams will spell RB Le'Veon Bell at times, according to QB Ben Roethlisberger. 'Le'Veon doesn't like to come out of the game. That's no secret and that's because he's in phenomenal shape,' Roethlisberger said. 'But I think it's still beneficial not just to him (or) to this team in the short term, but in the long term. You're talking about a long season. If every third series, every fourth series, whatever it is, let DeAngelo come in.'

                                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Steelers are getting Bell back this week after his two-game suspension. We like him as a RB1 that fantasy owners should be excited to play in Week 3 against the Rams. With the way that Williams played in Bell's absence, he deserves a bit more playing time as a reserve runner.

Matt Cassell. The 2 Qbs on the SEC Network Saturday pregame show are better than the 2 Dallas Qbs.

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) participated fully in practice Thursday, Sept. 24.

We think McCoy should be a good play this week after looking much more like his old self against New England. We expect McCoy to have some success against the Miami Dolphins and have him as a borderline RB1/RB2 play this week.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill fully practices

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 24.

Tannehill has been a bit Jekyll and Hyde in the first two games of the season. He looked outstanding against the Jacksonville Jaguars, though the Dolphins lost. He struggled far more against Washington though, so you don't know what you can get from him. Add to it the possibility that Branden Albert will not play and his replacement Jason Fox was not good. This is an interesting matchup, as the Bills are coming off a drubbing by the New England Patriots passing attack last week. Can Tannehill replicate this? We think he can and have him as a decent QB1/QB2 play this week.

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (concussion) did not practice Thursday, Sept. 24.

Keep an eye on this. Head coach Bill O'Brien has already said Hopkins looks good as he goes through concussion protocol. If he practices tomorrow, then perhaps he could be cleared by Sunday. Find other options if you can.

Jeffery is considered day-to-day, but we'd just shut him down. Who knows what John Fox is thinking....seriously, nobody knows and he's not telling. Jeffery SHOULD be shut down against the Seahawks in Week 3, but that would be assuming rational coaching.

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory's (quadriceps, groin) quadriceps injury is more of a concern than his groin injury. Ivory was slowed by his preexisting groin injury in the Week 2 win over the Indianapolis Colts Monday, Sept. 21. He also aggravated an old quadriceps injury in the same game.

Ivory is unsure of his availability for Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles. It's sounding like he will be a game-time decision. Fantasy owners should look at adding Bilal Powell via waivers.

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) and WR Davante Adams (ankle) are both improving but are not quite ready for their Week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs Monday, Sept. 28. Both Lacy and Adams missed the first two practices of the week. 'Eddie and Davante have been here pretty much most of the day, most of the three days. They're getting better. They'll both do some pre-practice work and then we'll see from there, but I don't have high expectations of them practicing today,' head coach Mike McCarthy said.

We're expecting James Starks to step in against Kansas City and see him as an RB1 option. Adams would be a solid WR3, but if he's out, James Jones might move up from an OK WR3 to a decent WR2, though Aaron Rodgers has spread the ball out so much that you never know where he is looking. So the fantasy receiver not names Randall Cobb will be a shaky prospect.

Harvin has been a bigger part of the Bills gameplan than expected, but he's still a fringe play fantasy-wise. We have him as a solid WR5 this week.

Good news for the Titans here. Marcus Mariota has leaned on the tight ends a lot this year, so Walker could perform like a TE1 against the Colts in Week 3.

He's confident, but we're not confident in this offense. It's Drew Brees being banged up, the team traveling to play outside, and the Panthers defense that has us cool on the Saints prospects this week. Start Cooks as a WR3/flex play in Week 3.

Maclin is a low-end WR2 this week going up against the Packers on MNF. He's been targeted plenty this year (16), but he's only snared nine passes for 109 yards and no touchdowns--of course it's the Chiefs and throwing TDs to WRs is about as frequent as Haley's Comet. Okay, it's not that bad but you get the picture. Maclin's fantasy value would rise if Alex Smith would throw him a touchdown or two.

Forte is the only Bears asset we're going to trust this week. The Bears are on the road in Seattle facing an 0-2 Seahawks team who could shut them out. Even though he hasn't "officially" been ruled out (oh, that tricky John Fox), we're not expecting Jay Cutler to start. That means Jimmy Clausen could be the Bears quarterback against a defense that gets Kam Chancellor back.....no thanks. Forte is a RB2 in Week 3.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie QB Jameis Winston has shown poise and professionalism in his first two NFL starts, and his teammates have been impressed with the way he has handled himself. Winston was 14-for-21 for 207 yards and two touchdowns and a 114.6 passer rating in the Week 2 win over the New Orleans Saints on the road. He has gone 30-for-54 for 417 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in two weeks. 'In the huddle with him, I feel so calm. In the huddle, he's so calm. He takes control of the huddle. He's fun to play with,' WR Mike Evans said.

Winston wants to win, and he's driven by the desire to be great. He's a confident quarterback who isn't afraid to challenge a defense. Winston is making plenty of mistakes, but he's not getting rattled and he's likely to learn from his experience as a rookie this year.

Cleveland Browns QB Josh McCown (concussion) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 24.

The Browns are starting McCown this week even though Johnny Manziel was able to improvise and lead the team to a win last week. That's why they're the Browns people.

DEN - RB C.J. Anderson a full participant

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (ankle, toe) took part in another full practice Thursday, Sept. 24.

                                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This may be the final week we trust Anderson. He's had 10 days between games as the Broncos played the Chiefs on Thursday night in Week 2. The team really, really, really wants to get the rushing attack on track. If Anderson is healthy, he could post RB1 numbers against a bad Lions defense. Start him as a RB2 or flex play this week. If Anderson struggles, then we know his toe/ankle injury is going to linger....likely for most of the year.

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 24.

If he plays, he should put up some decent RB2 numbers against a questionable Saints defense which has allowed two scores and an average of 129.5 yards per game on the ground.

NYJ - WR Eric Decker being cautious

Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (knee) said he is 'progressing,' but he wants to make sure he can play around 60 snaps in a full game before he returns.

                                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team and Decker are right to be cautious as they don't need him to get hurt again and miss a significant portion of the season. Devin Smith is returning to practice, so with some minor adjustments, the offense should be able to chug along for a week or so. We feel Brandon Marshall will carry the passing game as a solid WR1, but we wouldn't trust Smith this week. It may take some time for him to get into the offensive rhythm.

San Diego Chargers TE Ladarius Green (concussion) is unlikely to play in Week 3.

After a nice little streak, Green once again succumbs to the issue which has probably held him back the most-injuries. We'd avoid the tight end position right now as it is too volatile until Antonio Gates comes back.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers, according to head coach Sean Payton.

Luke McCown will get the start. Don't be surprised if this is more than a one-week absence for Brees.

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (calf) has a calf issue and will be a game-time decision in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Fred Jackson would be an easy high RB2 start if Lynch is out and UDFA rookie Thomas Rawls would also see some action.

It appears Foster isn't going to come back until he can take his typical feature back workload. This is good for lowering his chances of reinjury, and making him a safer fantasy start due to that and higher volume when he does return. Week 5 will be that return at the latest barring any setbacks.

WR Davante Adams (ankle) will also do individual drills Friday, and all indications are that he will be able to play in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs Monday, Sept. 28.

Adams has a better chance to play than Lacy. We might not have clarity on whether Lacy or Starks starts on Monday night when we set lineups on Sunday. Bet on Starks getting more work than usual even if Lacy plays.

Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller (ankle) was limited in practice for the second straight day Friday, Sept. 25, and is questionable for Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills.

The Bills run defense is probably not going to budge too often against an offensive line missing Branden Albert, so Miller isn't a good start if active and there's no obvious easy RB2/Flex start if he's out. Damien Williams might be a solid PPR play with Miami likely being in pass mode most of the day.

Witten could lead the team in targets against Atlanta. He has been a more important player since Dez Bryant went down.

Murray is only a low RB2 until the Eagles can get their offense going. He has added risk of re-injury or lower workload coming off of the hamstring tweak. If you have options that have performed better to date, you might want to bench Murray.

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans.

Coby Fleener was very quiet after Allen went out last week. He's a boom/bust streamer TE play against Tennessee this week with Allen out.

SEA - TE Jimmy Graham adjusting to role

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham admitted that he's still adjusting to his role in Seattle's offense and said he isn't disappointed about his lack of involvement after two weeks. He was targeted just twice in the Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers. 'This team runs the ball. Simple as that. We're not slinging the ball 60 times a game. And if we are, then that means we're in trouble. I'm just going to keep doing what's asked of me,' Graham said.

Things are a lot different from Graham than they were during his time with the Saints. Graham blocked 28% of the time in New Orleans and is blocking 44% of the time after two games in Seattle. He admitted that earning QB Russell Wilson's trust in the passing game could take time. We're expecting Graham to get into the end zone at least once in Week 3 against a hapless Bears defense.

Baltimore Ravens WR Breshad Perriman (knee) has made progress in his recovery but there is no timetable for his return, according to head coach John Harbaugh. 'It looks like he’s getting close,' Harbaugh said. 'But what that means exactly? I don’t know. Nobody tells me. I have no report on it. I have no information on it because our medical people just don’t know. So, when they tell me he can play, he’ll be out there and play. It’s a tough injury to judge.'

The rookie is a talented deep receiver, but so far his first season is a wash. When healthy, Perriman could help stretch the field and give the Ravens another weapon at wide receiver besides just Steve Smith.

Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson (hamstring) could return to play in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles, his former team. 'I think there's a chance,' head coach Jay Gruden said. 'He's a unique human being in a lot of ways. But we have to be smart. Those hamstrings can be tricky. He has to be full-go.' Jackson had nine catches for 243 yards and a touchdown in two games against Philadelphia last season.

Keep an eye on this situation. Certainly the play of Kirk Cousins doesn't give us confidence, but Jackson against his former team could be worth starting at least as a flex play in Week 4.

San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde (quadriceps) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 25, and is listed as probable for the game against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Cardinals have a tough defense, and Hyde could struggle to find running room. Since he's got a tough matchup, we recommend Hyde as a RB2/flex play in Week 3.

Bush isn't back yet, but he's getting closer. Carlos Hyde will get a majority of the workload against the Cardinals, but we only like him as a RB2/flex play because of the tough matchup.

Without Drew Brees in the lineup, we can't recommend Cooks as anything more than a WR3/flex play in Week 3.

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill has been sacked 23 times against the Buffalo Bills in the last three seasons, which is second only to the New England Patriots (25 sacks in six games). Tannehill has 1,028 passing yards and nine touchdowns against the Bills in six games and has completed 56.5% of his passes, though. He respects the Bills' defensive front and expects to be under pressure for much of the day in Week 3.

Tannehill performed well against pressure last year, but this season something is just....off. The Dolphins have disappointed on both sides of the ball, and a tough game against Buffalo is not the time to expect things to get back on track.

Walker is a great Week 3 play because Marcus Mariota seemed to favor tight ends last week to the tune of the best fantasy line for Anthony Fasano since 2010.

If Anderson doesn't perform like the RB1 we expected when he went in the first two rounds this week, it might mean that he'll be a flex/low RB2 level play this year. The Broncos need to make up their mind on which offense they are running. Right now it still looks like the Kubiak version, which is bad for everyone in the offense.

Gurley and Tre Mason will probably split work in a game that could see the Rams forced to abandon the run if they can't contain the Steelers deep passing game. He's only a what the heck flex in his return to the field.

That Ellington might play at all is a good sign for his recovery from a non-contact PCL injury. He should be active for next week's game at St. Louis even if he can't go this week. The Johnson and Johnson backfield would be much less attractive if Ellington played, making all three shaky starts.

Chicago Bears WR Eddie Royal (back, hip) was limited in practice for the second straight day Friday, Sept. 25, and is questionable for Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Royal would be in line for a big opportunity with Alshon Jeffery out, but against Seattle, questionable, and not looking to be in top form in the first two week, instead he's a player to avoid this week.

                                                      Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints.

                                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stewart is likely to play and get his usual workload, but without big plays and regular touchdown opportunities, he has been only a low RB2. If he can't put up a nice line against the Saints, he might be falling out of RB2 consideration on stronger teams.

JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon to be workhorse back

                                                      Source: ESPN.com - Mike DiRocco

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon had 25 carries in Week 2 and could reach that number again in Week 3 against the New England Patriots. Offensive coordinator Greg Olson has no doubt that his rookie running back can handle a heavy workload. RB Denard Robinson (knee) is out for several weeks and RB Toby Gerhart (abdomen) may not be able to play this weekend. Yeldon will likely be relied on more than he was in the first two weeks. Olson also said he expects RBs Bernard Pierce and rookie Corey Grant to see more work after combining for only five yards on four carries and two catches for nine yards so far.
                                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The only problem with Yeldon this week is the chance the Patriots jump out to a big lead and make the running game irrelevant. He does have a three down skillset and should get enough volume to merit an RB2 start anyway.

Maclin is a low-end WR2 against the Packers this week. He'd be a little higher if throwing touchdowns to wide receivers was a thing in Kansas City.

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins could have another good outing in Week 3 against a Miami Dolphins defense that is giving up 25.80 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers through two weeks.

The data is strong in Watkins' favor, but if the gamescript unfolds the way the Bills want it to then we may not see much from the passing game.

Cooper was our favorite receiver in this year's draft class. He's looked good so far, but the best is yet to come.

The Panthers are at home and going up against a weak Saints defense....make sure to have Olsen in as your TE1 this week.

This is a fantasy situation that most need to avoid. Anderson has been banged up with a toe/ankle injury, and Hillman is merely a change-of-pace back. The Broncos have a bad OL, and they have struggled to create holes or cutback lanes in their zone-blocking system. We'd go with Anderson as a RB2/flex play against the Lions, and Hillman is more of a "what the heck" flex in Week 3.

Rib injuries basically come down to pain tolerance. Coleman should be shelved this week and next. Yeah, let's not quite go there. The Bears are without Jay Cutler, and Jimmy Clausen at QB against a fired up Seahawks defense, the 12th man and a returning Kam Chancellor doesn't fill us with confidence. Bennett and RB Matt Forte are the only Bears assets we feel decent about in Week 3....but if you have to start either one, don't get your hopes up about a big day.

Steve Smith owns the planet. The veteran looked like he found the Fountain of Youth last week in the loss to the Raiders. So long as TE Crockett Gillmore provides the team with a decent secondary target, we could see Smith continue to excel.

You can throw the ball against the Patriots....and you have to when falling down to Tom Brady and the Patriots offense. We like Robinson as a WR2 with upside in Week 3.

The Browns are not good against the run. Murray could easily finish as a top-10 fantasy running back in Week 3. The math here is pretty easy....most can start Murray as a RB2 this week. Make sure he's in your lineup.

Hopkins is getting the volume and converting a lot of short and intermediate reception, while playing like a #1 receiver in his third year. He's a solid WR1 who looks like a great use of a third round pick this summer heading into Atlanta.

McCown is a gamer, but he couldn't step into the throw that might have tied the game late when Travis Benjamin got open deep. He's only a fantasy desperation play. McCown will lead the Browns into San Diego next week.

Blue ran with intensity and efficiency. He established himself as the clear handcuff to Arian Foster right before Foster is set up to return in Week 4 or 5. He'll be worth owning because of Foster's recent and long-term injury history.

McCoy looked better last week, and perhaps he'll be a better inside runner after the Bills' Week 8 bye, but if it wasn't for a receiving touchdown, he would have been a complete loss today in a big win for him team that had over 40 points scored. Karlos Williams is threatening to make this into a RBBC.

McCown was highly efficient, spreading the ball out to nine different on the way to a 16 for 17 start, but this is still going to be a very limited range for this pass offense with McCown at the helm. He's a desperation play vs. Dallas next week if Drew Brees can't go again.

It should be better against the Colts next week as long as the defense can continue the trend of Andrew Luck looking frustrated.
