And he has lost velocity on his fastball to the point where there there is not really too much differential in MPH from his off speed stuff.

I'd like to see Dickey do well. He had a nice story to get to where he is. I have no idea what he puts up this season though.

Aren't pitchers scored by Wins-ERA-Ks-WHIP? Doesn't he excel in 3 of those categories? What fantasy league do you guys play in where BB/9 is a record-able stat?

BB/9 affects his WHIP, as should a natural increase in BABIP. Would not be surprised to see regression in all four of the common stats you mentioned, unless he gets some velocity back.

Good call on Burnett, hope his season is more 2012 and not 2011.

I think Roy Halladay will have a nice bounce back season. Good chance he'll outperform his draft position.

def. matt cain, bet pitcher san francisco has got. when he is on the mound you usually dont get run totals over 6.5-7.

This thread is about #1 overall pitcher though. Cain is great, but you can't take him over Kershaw/Verlander. And Halladay won't give you strikeouts.

Might look at Derek Holland for this spot as well.

Cain won't get too many wins, that Giants lineup isn't anything scary, hasn't been for years.

Not Holland but perhaps Matt Harrison or Alexi Ogando?

Ogando going back to the bullpen.

Good for us....he's unhittable as a set-up man for Nathan.
