tough not to take miggy 1 overall, but of course the same thing can be said about pujols...cant be mad at landing either of them...votto is up there, hamilton is a great pick with that new lineup he's in, matt kemp...just to name a few guys...if i had 12th pick though (which would mean 12 and 13) i think you take hitter-pitcher, like a cliff lee or any other stud pitcher, just because by the time it gets back around to you it will be pretty slim pickings for pitchers, i like to have at least 1 stud hitter and pitcher on my teams, but thats just me

Ya, its about that time to start doing some homework for the drafts.
off the top of my head, not really a specific order.

You didn't specify, so will assume you are asking about a 10 team 5x5 standard scoring, re-draft league. That being the case, the top 12 should go something like this.
Ryan Braun
Miquel Cabrera
Mike Trout
Robinson Cano
Andrew McCutchen
Matt Kemp
Albert Pujols
Carlos Gonzalez
Joey Votto
Price Fielder
Jose Bautista
Troy Tulowitzki
You definitely don't want to be reaching for pitching in the first or even second round IMO. Personally, I wait as late as the 4th round to pick a pitcher because the position is so deep, but the first pitchers will probably be off the board in the second round.

I'm taking Miggy at one, proven commodity. Trout may have a sophomore slump.

You gotta go with Miguel Cabrera at number 1..
Then 2-4 in any order would be Mike Trout, Ryan Braun, and Andrew McCutchen.
The next set of players are in a tier below

True about Trout, would have to lean Braun, but will depend who is there at your pick.

Agree with everything you said. Also gonna be my approach in fantasy football, QBs that are proven rarely have complete dud years like some of the rbs

trout seems to be the real deal to me, sophmore slump maybe but he is just so talented its tough to see it...miggy #1 and good call by everyone saying braun I kinda forgot about him up there in milwaukee...to me it just seems like if you take all 4th round and later pitching, you will lose your pitching categories way more than you will win them...of course you never know who could pop up as free agent sleepers this year either...
colorado has some interesting fantasy relevance...definitely agree with cargo, but im not sure how much of a 'sleeper' he is anymore, the guy is really good and people seem to understand that...as good as tulo CAN be though, I try to avoid him because he is just so injury prone and often times people use a high pick on him to lose him for half the season or more

Excellent list here.
Plus I totally agree about waiting on pitching.

Kershaw, Felix and Verlander are the top 3 pitchers that I would take in the first 2 rounds.

If I'm drafting a pitcher in the second round, I'll make it Verlander or Kershaw, but probably no one else. Would rather stock up on the pitchers later on in the draft. Actually, I prefer to get 2-3 studs and then stream the other spots, works well in a standard 10 team mixed league. ERA and WHIP usually suffer, but can nearly guarantee top 3 finishes in W, K and SV that way. Also helps to have the extra hitters.

Won't change at all, unless somehow he gets suspended(unlikely).

Mostly agree with this, but we can't say for sure if his production will change or not. This is the second time he has been caught up in the PED stuff. If it scares him straight, then it could be possible that his production goes down. After nearly back-to-back MVP seasons, the real question is will his production go down just from playing at the peak level he has been. Braun is 29 now, which is toward the end of the prime years of a player's career, so a small slide is possible. He's certainly not going to drop off a cliff or anything. That said, Braun may be the safest of the top 3 picks this year. Trout in his sophomore season and Miggy just scares me for some reason, keep thinking that playing 3B will lead to an injury for him, but he didn't have any issues last season so he is probably safe too.

Very solid list right here. I'm hoping McCutchen has a monster year for the Buccos.
