Spiller for Steven Jackson and Gates?
I know Spiller's potential but also the thought of Fred Jackson stealing carries scares me. My starting tight end right now is rudolph in this non-ppr 10 team league.

Is this enough for spiller or should I sit tight? Maybe try to add in dez Bryant from his side for desean Jackson as well?

I think trading Spiller is the right move, but not that deal. If both guys were healthy, I'd take it in a heartbeat. But both guys are getting up there in age, and both are already on the injury report and we're only in week 3. I think people underestimate Fred Jackson. I think a lot of people expect Jackson to get benched once he comes back. I think they'll use both of them quite frequently. My guess is its a 60/40 split with Spiller getting the majority.

However, if you think SJax and Gates will be healthy, take the deal. I'd just prefer to get healthy players in return.

I have Spiller in one of my leagues.. He single handedly won the game for me.. I think he will do just that a few times this year.

spiller right now is clearly the most intriguing yet toughest player to figure out in fantasy football. i just offered a trade of spiller straight up for ray rice (ppr league). probably wont get a bite, but i feel like he can fetch that type of player right now. if you can get a top RB for him, i'd do it, because no one knows what the situation will be like once f-jax comes back. i also offered him for mccoy, but like i said, who knows what they will bring back. he doesn't seem like just a flash in the pan though, he has been putting up these #s over his last 7 games. just not guaranteed to be the premier back later this season...would you guys trade him for adrian peterson?

very tough call. Not an awful deal but defintely risked involved. Gates best TE you can hope to get but health always risk.

Jackson has both risk of production and health. ALthough Rams offense and Bradford look pretty good this year.

Tough call, go with your gut.

If I were a Spiller owner, I'd take Ray Rice for Spiller in a heartbeat. Rice will be the main in Baltimore through week 17. Spiller is going to share carries in about 2 weeks. It's not like Fred Jackson was some scrub. 8 of his first 9 games last year he rushed for over 100 yards. Before he got hurt last year, I think he was the 3rd best RB in fantasy.

Fred Jackson healing faster than expected

By averaging more than 10 yards per carry, running back C.J. Spiller appears to be helping more than the Bills offense.
He might also be helping Fred Jackson heal more quickly. Mark Ludwiczak of CBSSports.com reports that Jackson has been doing light work with the team’s trainers during practice this week, less than two weeks after suffering a knee sprain that was thought to keep him out for three to eight weeks when he originally got hurt. Coach Chan Gailey said Thursday that Jackson is ahead of schedule in his return to action.“Yeah he is,” Gailey said, via the team’s website. ”He must be a fast healer.”The team isn’t ready to put a new timetable on Jackson’s return to action, although the fact that he’s back to work in any capacity suggests that it will wind up being on the lower end of the predicted absence. If Spiller remains as effective as he’s been in the last two games, Gailey and the Bills will have to make some tough decisions about how to split the workload in the backfield. Players don’t usually lose their starting jobs because of injury, but they also usually aren’t faced with players who have performed as well as Spiller when they make their returns.

That is an awesome trade for you. You basically get a solid RB2, a solid WR2, and a TE1. I still think in about 2-3 weeks Spiller's value will drop dramatically with the return of Fred Jackson. It's not like Fred Jackson is a no one. He has been a leader on this Bills team for a couple years now, and he is a stud. Good trade for you, now just hope that SJax and Gates can stay healthy.

I think I'm with Speedy on this one. The last couple seasons Gates and Jackson have spent time on the injury list and even though they can be studs any given week, either is just as likely to be out some games again. It can be a solid trade IF they can stay healthy. Even when FJax, comes back you can be sure Buffalo will insure Spiller gets plenty of touches especially with his performance to end the year last year and his production this year. With David Nelson on IR, it wouldn't be surprising to see them have FJax in the backfield and Spiller in the slot, something they have done before.

Would not do the trade. When jackson comes back your potential is going to be limited with spiller.

I think people are expecting too much doom from the return of Jackson. The guy is 30 years old and wasn't putting up near the numbers that Spiller has been. Jackson will be "eased back" into some carries but effectively lost his starting job. Spiller cuts and bursts so well it's obvious why he was a top 10 draft pick. Why would you trade away a $$$ player like this?

I disagree. Fred Jackson has been a leader on this young Buffalo team for the past two years. It's not like he was your average RB. He was a top 5 fantasy RB last year up until he got hurt. Fred Jackson clearly outplayed Spiller in camp this year too. They aren't going to screw him over and show him the bench just because CJ had two huge games.

And I'll say this. Spiller is great, but his numbers are going to come down. He isn't going to continue to average 10 ypc. I just want to see what he can do against an actual defense like Baltimore or Houston. KC's defense is swiss cheese this year. And he carved up some good yardage against a good Jets defense, but the game was a blow out from the first quarter.

That is the one knock on Spiller, does he have the body to be 20 carry type of RB. Just from his build, I'm not sold that CJ can hold up for 16 games as a lead back.

Couldn't be happier as a Fred owner. News came out yesterday that Fred has a "chance" at playing next week.

CJ Spiller only has a sprained A/C joint, so CJ spiller owners there's still hope.
The HC Chan Gailey even said he's not ruling him out for this upcoming week, but he most likely will take the safe route and bench him this week. Otherwise, it's looking good and CJ Spiller can go back to being the amazing Fantasy RB and the #1 RB this year.
