Guys, Texas at almost +220 at matchbook. Isn't this pretty much a given to take Texas at this kind of ML?
Thoughts?

I see Oklahoma rolling in this one personally. I just dont think Texas has the defense to stop OK AS MUCH as OK will stop Texas.
Both teams will put up points though

Lsu is a better play although I think the Gators win.
Oklahoma wins and covers...anyone seen the total.
I think its a shootout

The total is at 56. I like the over, but won't be betting it.

its a very risky but potentially rewarding play as this game can clearly go either way. this game should be one for one for the storybooks. Oklahoma is a very formidable opponent and texas is without a proven ground attack from a tailback this year.

I'd just play it safe and take Texas +7, and LSU +6. There's no need to play moneylines on these I don't think.

I just figure getting a team like texas at that kinda + money it is worth a shot. Granted Oklahoma is a dominant team and they can play some fantastic defense... I dunno.. if this ML keeps climbing I have to definately pull the trigger

Does anyone else have an opinion on this game? I am going to bet this game for the sole purpose of yell and curse at my TV. O-yeah…and I’m from Texas. 99.9% know a lot more than I do about who would be the better pick. Just wanted to give the thread a bump and here what other had to say.

I think it is a good value bet. I wouldn't put much on it, but it has good value.

I dont think it has much value at all because I dont see there being much of a chance at all that Texas wins this game. Oklahoma is just a far superior team in my mind this year, and will probably win this game by double digits. I'm not betting on it either way though because it's a "rivalry game" and I've always told myself not to bet rivalry games

OU will roll. Texas won't be able to move the ball. They haven't faced a sound defense this year.

Interesting stupid stat of the day. Only 1 time in the last 10 years has a texas/oklahoma game been within 7 points. In fact, other than last year the closest game in 10 years has been 10 points. Just a little thought for people who like texas.

Neither of the 2 teams have played anyone, its hard to say for sure what either of them has. Ou has played great defense, against Chattanooga. The horns have scored a lot of points, against Rice.

Play a 2 team (Parlay Texas ML and LSU ML) back it with a 6 point tease. At worst I think you push at best CHA CHING.
If you want to go out on a limb add Kentucky in parlay and change the 6 pt tease to a ten point tease.

I have no respect for TCU sorry, I live in the fort worth area and every year I hear about TCU IS UNDEFEATED THEY SHOULD BE IN TOP 10 THEY SHOULD BE PLAYING A BCS GAME. The paper writes it up every week how they are being cheated. Then finally they get some love in the rankings and BOOM loss to SMU, or some other trash 1-9 team that couldnt beat half the High School teams in Texas. Save the TCU is a talented team speech for someone else. If Oklahoma wants to hang their Strength of Schedule on that win fine but Texas beating Arkansas is more impressive than any win OU has.
That being said Texas tends to struggle with Oklahoma and it wouldn't surprise me if it were an OU blow out...
All I am saying is neither of them have beaten anyone and I find it stupid to talk about how great the Oklahoma defense is when they are untested.

F*ck yOU - look..... I go to UT but i honestly dont think we have a chance in beating oklahoma money line.
Their just too big. Oklahoma will be able to throw the ball against an overal weak secondary. i mean their freshman. Granted their defensive coordinator is getting paid big bucks to be there but still.....all the good ones are playing in the NFL.
I just dont see texas being able to stop oklahoma.
Also, Oklahoma put a beat down on baylor - granted its baylor but they do have a very skilled running QB - and colt mccoy is the best runner on the texas team and he is the QB. They stopped the baylor qb they should be able to stop colt. Also, Jordan shipley is their best reciever and he is a tight end. A pretty fast tight end but thats about their only other key threat. I think oklahoma can stop that as well.
So if its about scoring points, i dont think texas will be able to keep up with Oklahoma. One good thing is that texas has covered the spread or won most of the time.
I love my school and therefore i cant touch this game. Im just worried bc i see oklahoma blowing out texas.
Tell you one thing - if i see an oklahoma fan after the game outside a bar on 6th street (austin ) he's gonna get tko'd. 5 to 1 on that

well UT does have a shot - but their secondary has to step up - they've never faced anything like this as i think ones a freshman and the other is a redshirt freshman. I have faith in my Longhorns cuz thats my school - but i'm not putting any money on it bc i can easily see oklahoma run away with it.
I mean its rivaly which means sometimes its best to go with the points - but oklahoma is connecting on all cylanders and ii'm just not sure texas can keep up with them.
I mean it could be a close game and oklahoma gets a td to make it 10pt win...
I dunno... i just see problems when colt mccoy is their best runner....i mean granted he beefed up but dont forget how big the oklahoma team is and how they stopped the baylor qb who i think is a minature vince young who could run the ball too well.
i'll be @ the sports bar cheering on my team but i dont wanna lose money and then be mad. If UT wins, well hey my squad beat the number 1 team and won the red river shootout - good enough for me.
And i dont even look @ the rankings for these 2 schools. again, i just dont think texas defensive will be able to keep up with oklahoma's scoring. Thats their biggest weakness is the ball can get thrown on them. And incase you dont know which i'm sure you do, oklahoma is scary when it comes to throwing.
