I hate betting on the unders in sun belt games they have little defense but after watching FAU and middle tenn st. i have to lean towards the Under 51 still looking into this one. I think Troy wins the game FAU's offense looks terrible the D looks ok though.

FAU has looked horrendous on offense in their last 3 games. FAU has scored a total of 16 points in their last 3 games against Michigan St, Minnesota and Middle Tenn St. Before FAU played these 3 games, FAU had scored 49 points against UAB. Junior QB Rusty Smith threw 34 TDs/9 int in 2007 as a sophomore. Smith has thrown 6 int and 0 tds in his last 3 starts. Smith passed for 291 yards and threw 2 tds against Troy in 2007 as FAU won the game 38-32.

Troy's defense is not as good as it was a year ago. I remember Troy defeating a good Oklahoma St team 41-23 a year ago. That game was a blowout from start to finish. Troy led the game 41-10 entering the 4th quarter. Troy was led by SR QB Omar Haugabook who put up some big numbers as a senior QB. He was able to keep drives moving and keep their defense off the field. Troy's QB, Jamie Hampton, has not looked that good this season, He has the knack for throwing interceptions. Oklahoma St, which lost to Troy 41-23 in 2007, got revenge and defeated Troy 55-24. Hampton threw 2 tds and 3 int. Hampton threw the tds after Troy fell behind 21-0 and 42-10.

FAU plays good defense. FAU does have some experience at QB and RB positions. Rusty Smith was the Sun Belt player of the year. RB Pierre is putting up some good numbers for FAU.

Prediction:
After scoring only 16 points in its previous 3 games, FAU will have a conference foe to score some points on. Smith should be able to do better against a weaker Troy defense. Last year's Troy team was better at both offense and defense. Smith is going to have a breakout game and I think its going to be this game. FAU will put up 30 points and easily cover the team total going over 23.5. FAU will go over 23.5 in the third quarter. FAU scored 28 points in a 12 minute span of the 2nd half game against Troy in 2007.

I really like the first quarter under 10.5 (-125). Troy will get the opening kickoff in this game even if FAU wins the coin flip. FAU is the better defensive team and that is why they will ellect to kickoff in the first half. Both teams will try to establish the running game as both starting QBs have struggled passing the football. A TD and a field goal will still keep the first quarter total under. I do like this play as you can win in less than 45 minutes.

anyways, looks like i'll never learn. I like troy tonight, bought it at -3 for -130. i hate the juice, but pretty sure they come through. although home dogs on midweek games... ya, hopefully we're deep enough in the season to buck that trend and teams will play up to their normal standards.

oddsmakers got the worng team favored for a reason. If FAU was favored, there would be too much action on FAU. If I was an oddsmaker, I would make FAU a favorite by 3 points. Betters are usually afraid of taking the listed underdog even if the underdog is a much better team. FAU is a better team just based on talent level.

A team like Troy can put some garbage points like they did against Oklahoma St. Troy will not put up more than 27 points in this game. Oklahoma St put in the bench warmers after they took a 41-10 lead. Troy scored 2 tds to make the score a little more respectable. This is a conference game and FAU will not let Troy score garbage points. Troy was putting up a lot of points in 2007 when they had senior QB, Haugabook as their QB. If Haugabook was still there qb, I would take Troy.

Troy gets up HUGE for midweek games on ESPN... that is a fact... they go nuts on the big stage.

Not to mention FAU beat them at the end of the year to cost them a bowl game last year...

Troy rolls here, and they put up 40 alone, so take the over while you are at it.

If you watched the Midd Tenn game I do not know HOW you can side with FAU... MTSU looked TERRIBLE and FAU looked worse. I will take the better team and cross my fingers, I hate going against a home dog but I think this match up is clearly one sided...

Oklahoma State/Ohio State bench warmers could be hall of famers at FAU. Home dogs on week nights are scary to go against but each game is independent of the one before it.

fau dominated MTSU. domintaed. they made a lot of mistakes and turnovers. thats not the way i would cap a game.

Troy actually outgained Oh. St. in total yards in that match up.... scored points in the 1st half of both Oh. state and ok. state games, so it wasn't just scrub points.

in the battle of the trenches, what will it be like for the O-line and D-lines for troy, going from facing Ohio st. and Ok. st. to now facing the opposing lines of FAU... Mentally I think that will be a big boost right off the bat when they start pushing people around.

I actually think that Troy is the FAR superior team talent wise, and only the weekday home dog angle is tempering my enthusiasm here.

First of all I dont bet on games because they have "meaning" in terms of CFB, I bet on games where I can make money. And THIS is one of those games.

I'm on the Owls ML +155 and the UNDER 51.5 -118. This is Florida Atlantic's second Tuesday game in a row, and while it may not serve the rest of their season, they're in a scheduling "groove" for this game. Plus, Howard Schnellenberger is a beast of a coach and he won't let his team drop this game after last week's pathetic last-second loss. Troy may have more talent but it won't help them tonight. Plus, as an Oregon State Beaver, I can speak first-hand about how all Trojans appear far tougher on paper than they play on the field.

Also, i see what your saying about the home dogs, but you cant just assume that their going to win every time because its the trend. However i am going to take them ...although the line keeps moving....so a lot of people are betting on TROY! its +4.5 now so i think i may wait a little bit more and see if i can get it @ +5

FAU has played pretty shitty this year but i mean last year @ home they almost beat TEXAS. So lets see, their due for a break out game and why not do it @ home on national television.

This is one of those games that if it were on Saturday it would jump right out at me...i would LOVE this game on a Saturday, and I love it tonight. And before I say who I am taking (which should be important because the last two shit conference games that I Loved were Rice 77-20 over N.Texas, and Fla Int HUGE over N. Texas) The moral here, fade shit teams in shit confrerences against moderately superior teams. I love the fact that no road favorites are covering during the week...it wouldn't become a trend if it didn't go both ways at some point. Its hammertime on Troy boys, this is a rocking chair blowout, over at halftime...take troy in the first two quarters, the first half and for the game...the total is tricky, i don't see FAU scoring more than 6 in this spot...
