    Penn State 4 starters gone?
A buddy of mine called me from Harrisburg.

Word in the press there is that 4 starters were involved in yet another incident at Penn State and the four players would be suspended for this week's game against Oregon State.

The names are Koroma, Evans, and Wallace. Quarterless is also being thrown around as well.

Take a strong look before you make this play.

Those 4 are very very very important to Penn State. Especially Koroma and Evans.

    More to this.

The State College ABC News affiliate is now running with the story.

Penn State's own student newspaper is also on it.

    Here is the link

is it me or does Penn St. seem to be playing with a chip on their shoulder about all of the media attention they've received this offseason?...

Pags, I think Penn State is better this season because Morrelli is not at QB, lol. They might be using the media as a subject of motivation, but they have nobody to blame for that attention but themselves.

I also think Coastal Carolina was terrible and I don't know how much we learned from that game. I've done some rethinking on this game a bit since Monday. I went back and watched the Oregon State/Stanford game again because it was on a local FOX channel Tuesday night and what the hell else am I going to do, watch the Republican national Convention? LOL Anyway, for a first game coming back from losing their star RB and a lot of their defense, OSU was pretty impressive in spots of that game. For one thing, I don't think Stanford is getting near the respect they deserve. just because they don't have any notable all-stars on their team doesn't mean they are not a GOOD team. Harbaugh has them believing as a team that they can not only compete, but they can WIN games. That alone makes them dangerous for any team that plays them this year. Now, I think they suffer a bit of letdown against ASU this weekend, but for the season they are going to be a team to watch and respect.

Now, as for OSU, there were some obvious breakdowns that cost them the game, but they were mostly due to "mental" errors, not because they were physically incapable of execution. I never liked Canfield at QB last year, and even though Moevao threw 2 interceptions in this game, I have to say that he has a great deal of potential in making this team successful. He went 34/54 for 404 yards passing and I can't remember Canfield ever doing that last year. He has weapons to throw to in Stoughter and Morales and he knows how to find them. The thing they lack is a good RB to balance the offense which they had with Bernard last year. They certainly have some young talent that will get better, but they are not there yet. Defensively, they only allowed Stanford 301 yards. Again, because of some mental breakdowns, they allowed Stanford to score whenever they should have shut them down, but this defense is going to do nothing but get better as the season goes along and they gain more and more experience.

This relates to Penn State how? Pags, I'm still not sold on the Big Ten as being a real strong conference. I think there is Ohio State and then there is everyone else. Again, what can we learn from a game against Coastal Carolina? I mean, I'm pissed at my Sooners for the very same reasons of playing Chattanooga. However, Oregon State started with good competition and has been honed a bit. Whether there are repercussions from this "apartment incident" or not I don't think it matters. The bottomline is that Oregon State will come in ready to play and one good game smarter than they were last week. That, to me, makes +16.5 points too tempting to pass up.

              Pags,

That is where I live. They have reported that they will play. Joe is waiting to see what unfolds at the courthouse, so it will be a while according to the report.

                  Pontiff,

They are suspended, which is what the Harrisburg Patriot AND State College news media have been reporting.

Wallace will play, but Evans, Koroma, and Quarless are gone. Quarless is gone for good and it will be reported tomorrow.

                      No problem Pags.

Want to hear something crazy? Last night...after the Koroma, Evans, Wallace, and Quarless got themselves into trouble...another kid...Herriot went out and got a DUI and Paterno launched him for good.

the line only changed to -15...Oregon St gave up a lot of plays to Stanford...can you really see them hanging with Penn St even with the suspensions...or is this team out of control??

East Coast bias alive and well....So tired of the Penn State's, Michigans, Notre Dames perennially, perpetually overhyped. Would love to see Beavers stick around.....
