I thought defense wins football games?

Stanford...check

TCU...check

Oklahoma...check

Alabama...check

Boise State...check

Washington...check

UCF...check

These 7 teams (6 of which are known for pretty decent to great D) held their opponets to an average of 10.5 points in their bowl games.

Washington isn't really known for their defense...but they sure brought the pressure vs. Nebraska!

Ohio St.'s defense is always ranked high, but if you adjust their stats for strength of schedule their rankings are laughable.

I wouldn't underestimate the emergence of the Arkansas D. It is much improved from last year. While OSU's stats look very good, the quality opponents just weren't there. It'll be interesting to see how OSU handles a good offense - didn't fare to well against Big 10'a best offense (13 point loss to Wisky).

You are right there, Ohio State didn't look that great against Wisconsin and gave up 184 yards on the ground. Although, given how great the Wisconsin run game is...is under 200 yards an accomplishment? I'm not sure.

Regardless of who everyone is on tonight....this should be a GREAT game IMO

Tough call for me. I think Pryor will fold under pressure from the media but Mallett can become an accident waiting to happen? I do think Arkansas' defense is under rated and their run game is much better than OSU's. I'm going with Arkansas just because they're the underdog and this seems like a coin flip.

Nebraska was overrated all season. They got killed by Texas. Beat Iowa State by a point and struggled with FCS South Dakota St. I never knew why everybody had a boner for Nebraska this year as they had many periods of struggles and mediocrity.

I know this sounds simple,but I will take Pryor and OSU O vs the Arkansas D over Mallet and Ark O vs the OSU D....Arkansas does not play Bama-Lsu type defense..thats a fact....BOL to all

I'm taking the Buckeyes. If they run the football the way they are capable of vs. an Arkansas defense that has struggled to stop the run in their two losses, they win. Buckeyes only loss, they had trouble running the ball. That is the EZ blue print to begin. Then you win the turnover battle by pressuring Mallet and making Pryor a secondary type performer tonight behind your rushing game. Might do moneyline like I did with TCU because it should probably be a tight contest.

All the Big Ten BS from other bowls doesn't mean anything to me. Wisconsin got beat by a great TCU team and it was close. Michigan State was ill prepped apparently. OSU showed they could win Big bowl games with this cast against a fast team in oregon last year ....

OSU -3 is the play. I agree with EP. OSU will smother the run and use their superior defense to win the turnover battle and cover the spread.

Arkansas covers the spread and probably wins straight up. OSU has played against average competition all year. They will be 0-10 against SEC in bowl games after this one.

I like the Buckeyes as well... hoping they can put the distractions behind them. Tressel should have them ready... if they prepared well there is no reason they shouldn't cover fairly easily.
