Michigan vs Ohio State

Ehhhh... Mich-OSU games can always go either way regardless of BCS rank because of the passionate hatred. OSU relies on big plays (pick 6's and long bombs) for the bulk of their points, which aren't always there for them (see Penn St, 1st half). And looking at the X factors: Michigan is ranked 5th in total yards while OSU is ranked 18th, ave. total points are close (Mich 36.8, OSU 39.6), and Michigan's QB has broken 2 NCAA records this year (most rushing yards in a season and 1st player in NCAA history to have 1500 rushing and 1500 passing yards).

I've been a student at Ohio State since 2001 and I expect them to win, but definitely not by an easy 17 against a decent Michigan looking to stop the Rivalry losing streak. Just playing devil's advocate.

Totally agree with PAP, Bucks will win but won't be a blow out. Bet this small if you play it!

Thanks men...I respect your opinions and since I've already stated I'm betting Ohio State, let me give my thoughts as to why.

First, I always consider defense before anything else when looking at a college game. Michigan is ranked 112th out of 120 schools. In other words, they ain't very good at stopping the other team from moving the ball and scoring. (4897 yards, 46 touchdowns, 445 yards per game)

Ohio State is 18th in the nation in total offense. The Bucks have scored 55 touchdowns and average 446 yards every game. In other words...they can move the ball.

Now, if Ohio State has a pretty good offense and a defense much better than Michigan....what's your take on this one?

My take is Buckeyes in a frecken blowout.

Buckeyes will play Tressel Ball if up by two scores and protect the lead but not blow it out.

My prediction:

OSU 27 (2 FG's from inside the 10..f***ing Tressel, 1 defensive TD and 2 offensive)
Mich 17 (10 points in the 1st half until the OSU defense settles down, then a 4th quarter meaningless TD)

Michigan has zero defense. Ohio State is going to dominate time of possession and give OSU enough time and they will put up the big plays.

Michigan has the rivalry to play for, Ohio State has a point to prove. Tressel is resilient when it comes to beating Michigan, and he has never showed restraint in the past.

Public is taking the points but OSU produces the win. Just my FYI !!!

Tressel hates Rich Rod... OSU needs style points since there's a 3 way tie in the Big Ten...this is for the Rosebowl... Im a die hard Michigan, but they're are gonna get their asses kicked tomorrow

Contrary to some of your thoughts, Tressel will not "hold the lead." He will blow out the Mistake by the Lake whenever possible. This is a real rival, not a sissy "let's just win" game.

i'm a huge michigan fan. If michigan doesnt win today, they better fire rich rod. i dont care if we didnt win a game all year, this is the game you have to win. i am putting a small play on michigan but i am not playing anything big. Michigan is playing inspired today too because if they win they will knock out Ohio St. from any chance at the rose bowl or a big ten championship.

Having watched Michigan about 8 games this season.......

THey will have to score every other possession to even be close and that is with a flat Ohio State Team today...

Ohio will win off match-ups alone. Talent and desire to end a coaches career will push the total beyond rivalry status imo..
