    Nebraska -2.5 vs Texas A&M
Before the season started, I had this game circled as a possible letdown game. I was thinking the Huskers would be undefeated and this would be a tough road game.

Nebraska actually plays better on the road and Martinez says he feels more comfortable playing on the road.

Texas A&M has had a decent season. They lost 3 games in a row to Oklahoma State, Arkansas and Missouri. They have now won 4 in a row and seem to be on a roll.

Nebraska has one of the best pass defenses in the nation. The BEST pass defense that Texas A&M has faced is KANSAS!!

At -2.5 it's pretty much deciding who will win. I really dont see Nebraska losing this game. Yes, I'm a homer.... but I know when to bet on Nebraska and when to stay away. (I told you all to bet on Iowa State vs NU)

Am I missing something here? How does Nebraska not win this one by 10+?

As an Aggie I agree that Nebraska should win by more than the line. Now, to answer your last question????

    1) I asked the exact same thing against Texas and Iowa State (did not see your post then) - teams playing no where near the level of A&M right now
    2) We have moved the ball against everyone except Mizzou and it is obvious now a big reason was at QB
    3) A&M's defense has the speed on the corners to slow down the horizontal plays - the straight up the gut plays scare me
    4) Martinez has had the fumble bug at times this year
    5) A&M has a very good running game that can keep the chains moving and the NU offense off the field
    6) Finally, we came back from a 16 point deficit on the road last week. This team has something special. Hopefully, it is special enough to win

I am not betting on this game because I think NU wins by 7-10 but the line moves the other way. And, I have heard from my parents (both live in College Station) that the campus is in a "fevered" pitch right now. A&M is treating this game as a HUGE status check for where our program is headed.

One last clarification - Arkansas is the best pass defense we have faced at #14. And it appears that A&M will be the best run defense NU has faced this year by a long shot.

Thanks for the info. I had heard that Kansas at #41 was the toughest pass D that they have faced.

Is the Aggie QB mobile? That is the key to this game.

Yes. He was one of the top WRs along with being the backup QB. Once a few other WRs stepped up, he didn't play as much. Watch the first offensive play against OU (aggieathletics.com) and you will see him rip off a 48 yarder to get the game going in the right direction.

From a betting perspective here is what scares me... Was Nebraska just running vanilla offense over the past 2 weeks in order to save a few wrinkles and protect Taylor or was that what Nebraska now has to offer when the zone read is shut down to an extent?

I think the Aggie D is a bit over-hyped but I think Nebraska's ability to score with Martinez (especially if he is not full speed) is a bit over-hyped...

What would scare me as an Aggie is if that defense that played last week for Nebraska shows up... You do not allow someone under 100 yards of total offense unless you are just mean and nasty... I think the Blackshirts front 7 found their nasty again... The DBs when healthy are the best tandem in the country... ( I say tandem but heck, Gomes and Haag will probably play on Sunday too...)

I can tell you that Kyle will be rocking and the game should be exciting... If I had a gun to my head the play is Nebraska if only because they have a great secondary that will force mistakes.

Martinez did not play against Iowa State. The 3rd string QB played.

Nebraska protected Martinez last week by running the wildcat quite often.
Plus, Nebraska didnt want to embarrass Turner Gill.

With the exception of the Texas game..... Nebraska has rolled in big games this year. Washington, Kansas State on Thurs night, undefeated Missouri, and Oklahoma State.

Nebraska's Defense will be the difference in this game.

I think you'll get what you expect from the NU defense which is why they won't be the difference. They are a known quantity. It's the A&M defense. Who shows up? The one in the 1st half vs. Baylor or the 2nd half that shut down their rushing attack. The first half vs. OSU that held them to 7 or the one in the 3rd qtr that gave up 21 unanswered. The A&M defense is the one with the most questions - how they play will determine the outcome (just semantics I know, but I love this discussion).

If Nebraska doesn't put the ball on the ground then they are going to win this going away. A&M's only chance is to get the lead early where Nebraska has to throw more than they want to.

PlayIt - agreed. Just hope the going away is less than 2 TDs. Also, the longer they let the A&M crowd stay in it, the better A&M's chances are.

I'm on AtM. First of all RLM has already occurred with 76% of the public on Nebraska. The line has shifted towards AtM signaling the sharps are probably all over this one. Never will I bet against a sharp, its either a no play or go with them and in this one, I'm going to have to go with them. I know Nebraska has a great D and decent offense but I really think people are underestimating the craze of Kyle Field with Nebraska having a Freshman QB that is still not 100%. One big hit from Von Miller could take this kid out of the game again. I just see the Aggies winning at home. Good Luck to all though.

Ags need to win big to keep conference chances alive. I think its a close game, stay away from the big running plays for nebraska

baylor racked up 2 70 yd runs in the first half last week, the D adjusted in the second half and shut them down

Injured True Freshman QB on the road at Kyle Field on National Television with Sharps on A&Ms side.

                                  A&M wins.

Nebraska has played very well on the road this season.
                                          On the road they.....

                                          They beat Oklahoma State 51-41
They beat Kansas State 48-13 on a Thursday night game
                                          They beat Washington 56-21

All 3 were big televised games.

Marque game of the night with Kirk Herbstreit and Brent Musburger announcing.

Bo knows that this is a huge game for Nebraska to get some respect with the #1 team covering the game.

It should be a good game. I just think Nebraska is a little better on both sides of the ball.

SEC might be a little ahead of the BIG 12 in the last 10 years. But the SEC was our bitch in the 1990s!

Yes... because Colorado (who no longer has a head coach) beat UGA and Arkansas just mauled Texas A&M right?.... oh wait didn't UGA lose to Okie St last year too? Oregon lambasted Tennessee... Ole Miss lost to 1AA Jacksonville St...

I live in SEC country and just in case you have not figured it out... the conference is way down.... The mighty flag waving Auburn is not only soaked in scandal but the truth is they are not that good on defense... See Clemson game where they should have lost... Bama is going to shred them with or without Newton...

It really sucks that SEC wont get a team in the BCS title game too because it would be enjoyable to watch a team from another conference maul the mighty SEC and their ignorant 24/7 blinder wearing fans....
