UCF -2 vs Houston
UCF is one of if not the best teams in the Nation right now at covering ATS. They are 7-1 ATS and 4 of their last 5 have went over. I really like the balance that this team finally has. Their passing game won't blow anyone away but it's a nice compliment to the 22nd best run game in the Nation. I really like the fact that this team is seriously battled tested losing by 7 to NC State 28-21 and losing by 4 17-13 to Kansas State. Some stats on this team are below.
They are 30th in Scoring Offense 32.9 ppg, they are 61st in yards 376.5 ppg, 22nd in Rush O 199.9pg, and 92nd in Pass 176.6 pg. Now here is where they are very solid, 11th on Defense in points given up 16.5pg, 9th in total yds given up at 279.9, 13th against the rush 102.6, and 15th against the pass 177.3. Their last 3 Conference USA games they have given up 7, 14, 14.
Houston just keeps plugging QB's in their offense and they keep succeeding. Their 3rd string QB is starting and has been for a few games now. He has done well with 11TD's and only 3INT's. Now, 5 of those TD passes came against one of the worst teams in the nation in Memphis. This team can play some serious offense but really lack on defense. They are 2-3-1 ATS and 4 of 5 have went over.
They are ranked 8th in scoring O at 41.6ppg, 15th in total yds 468.6pg, 43rd in rush O 169.4, and 13th in pass O 299.3. NOW, on D they are 80th in points given up at 28.0pg (including over 20 in CUSA), 79th in total yds given up, 98th in Rush D, and 37th in Pass D 196.9.
The only common opponent so far is RICE. UCF beat Rice 41-14 and Houston beat them 34-31.
I think the battled tested team goes on the road and wins this game. This will be the 2nd year in a row that UCF beats Houston. BOL to all
