I think Randy Edsall is going to have Zach Frazer return under center for the majority of the team's snaps.
I liked what I saw in their emotional effort last season when they simplified their approach and let Todman bash it up inside Jeff Casteel's front, not allowing them to shift and overload. Although, the Huskies did not break off any long runs, they did run effectively.
I like backing Frazer here, being a quarterback with a rather large chip on his shoulder. I can really see him mustering up just enough of an effort to manage this game well and erase, for at least a week, his horrid performance insofar as this year is concerned. This is could be projected as being a similar situation when he went back to South Bend last season and came up big, converting just what the offense needed in those crucial 3rd-down conversions In a "high profile" game for the program such as this I can see Jordan Todman getting 35-40 carries, giving the UCONN defense just enough of a breather to keep this game really damned close.
Additionally, I must say that Jeff Mullen has really been shitting the bed with the management of his unit. This Mountaineer team has not recruited as well as they used to along the offensive line, and they are largely playing out of place. Not having competent bookends compounds the displacement of personnel here, and it's really messing the running game up since the 'backs and slotbacks are having to cut and avoid defenders a yard in the backfield.
West Virginia is looking to redeem themselves after a poor outing in this spot, but so is UCONN, and it should be the biggest game of the season for the Huskies.
In short, I like the Huskies to keep it close here in their first game back home since October 2nd, with just a bit on the moneyline.
Good luck.
