Hope Notre Dame has deep pockets
This kids family is going to sue them for a pretty penny.

The best part is how he tweeted right before his death about how asinine of an idea this is.

"Gust of wind up to 60mph well today will be fun at work... I guess I've lived long enough :-/."

"Holy **** holy **** this is terrifying."

Wonder who was the genius behind filming practice outdoors today in 60 MPH winds on a scissor lift.

Better question: how does that man keep his job? Because if it was a coach (especially of high rank), you know they'll do everything they can to cover any responsibility up.

And some people think Notre Dame is going to be a player in the future.......
You can write them and USC off for years.

Sad news. Why where they practicing with winds that high? Throwing the ball would have to be close to impossible in those conditions. Why even bother taping with those conditions? Someone dropped the ball.

Actually----local media is now reporting the kid was told not to go up, but he wanted to anyway.

The kid has a really bright future ahead of him too, 3.98 GPA----just a sad story.

There will be no lawsuit. The kid was told not to go up. He went up anyways. He may hae had a great G.P.A. but obviously he did not have an ounce of common sense, something that appears to be missing fro 80% of today's male college students.

First of all..... Notre Dame has extremely deep pockets.
Second of all..... how would this tragic event have any affect on ND in football in the future? What a stupid comment.

Some kid DIED. VERY VERY TRAGIC. Who gives a crap about any money or lawsuits?

Damn, what a shame. When you're young it's easy not to truly comprehend and or dismiss the danger of certain situations.

it was a tragic accident for sure but I bet there will be a lawsuit.

Even if they told him not to go up, ND is negligent for allowing him to do so. It happened on their property and they are liable. If a kid drowns accidentally in my pool or falls off the trampoline and breaks their neck in my back yard, even after I told them not to swim or jump on the trampoline, I am liable because I am the property owner and did not take the preventive measures to prevent it from happening thus the reason I carry a huge umbrella policy. I don't want to be wiped out in a civil suit should something tragic happen on my property.

The only way to 'possibly' avoid liability is to have a liability waiver on file signed by the victim stating the property owner (Notre Dame) is not liable for any accidents causing injury and or death.

I doubt they have this liability waiver and even if they did, it could be challenged in a court of law.
