Think Clemson is giving too many points in this one, they're currently a 15 point favorite. CU just played Miami and @ UNC the last two weeks while Maryland had an extra week to prepare. Clemson's whole offense is their run game; shut that down and you'll have a good shot at beating them. Maryland's run d has been solid so far, giving up less than 3.75 / a carry. Maryland has had Clemson's number as of late, going 6-3 against them over the last 9 games. None of those 3 losses have been more than 2 TDs, which is saying something considering how bad Maryland has been over the last couple of years. For some reason Maryland always seems to get up to play Clemson, and I expect this one to be another close one. Would like to hear some feedback on this game.

#3Dib, you are right that Maryland gives Clemson fits. The Tigers have only covered 2 of the last 10 games vs the Terps. Clemson has Georgia Tech next and might be looking ahead a little.
Under has been the play in 8 of the last 9 between these two. Maryland seems to play it tight to the vest on the road going under 11 of 16 games.
To me, Clemson should be better than what they have shown....something is just missing with that team.Comment -

#4Lack of experience at WR and LB is their downfall to this point. Kyle Parker is extremely hesitant to throw a timing route, and with good reason. His guys are getting no separation on their routes so there would be INT after INT, not to mention there were at LEAST 5 dropped passes against Miami and a few against UNC). True Fresh DeAndre Hopkins is a starter now and has a TON of potential but fumbled late against Miami (crucial mistake) and had a drop against UNC. There are gonna be more mistakes by this corp in the next few games (blocking mistakes more than anything).
In regards to the LB, Brandon Maye is good but is way to eager to make 'the play'. He hasn't learned to stick with his zone/man. And behind him is simply more inexperience. Miami exploited this problem very well. All-American safety McDaniel was constantly having to creep up to help out in the middle and they continually were burned by Harris/Hankerson.
The offense should look a little better this week. Dabo promised Andre Ellington will be getting the bulk of the carries from here on out, and rightfully so. He's one of the best RB's in the ACC and is light years better than Jaime Harper. Their line is good enough to allow Ellington 100+ easily. If that works, and Parker settles in - Tigers win BIG.
That's too big an 'IF' for me to throw down $$$ on this one though.Comment -

Thanks Bud.
(question on Dabo.....has he grown into the job or do Clemson faithful still have reservations?)Comment -

#6I'll say this - there's a lot of grumbling going on. I know he's only been in office for a little while, but there's far to much talent for there to be THIS many issues there. The smartest thing they could do is drop the money on a big time offensive coordinator and replace their WR coach.
But it really doesn't matter at this point, Dabo is there to stay. He received an extension and they're still paying off Tommy Bowden's buyout.Comment -

#9OK YoungGod....you seem committed to Clemson. Is that because this game is a "LOCK" or "RUBERBAND" play or "TRAP GAME" situation. (All the amateurs here at SBR use those terms)
Just wondering your committment to the Tigers.Comment -

#11One thing to keep in mind here though - CJ Spiller is in town getting his jersey number retired. He is iconic to the Tiger faithful. I was at the FSU game last year where he set the school record for total yards. 80,000+ people - half the stadium would chant 'CJ', the other half 'Spiller'. One of the craziest things I've ever witnessed. They LOVE him and you can count on him giving a Pre-Game pep talk. His ceremony alone will pack the house and it will be louder than a normal 12:00 game typically is.
Another interesting note: Like I mentioned before, Ellington will be getting a ton of touches. Spiller was he was mentor, so you know he wants to ball out to impress him. If that's not enough motivation, he needs 74 yards on his first 7 touches to set the Clemson record for fewest rushes needed to reach 1,000 yards.Comment -

#15I'm local to the Clemson area and a huge fan. Just like what ACCblitz said Spiller will be in attendance at this game getting his jersey retired. This is pretty much do or die time for the Tigers. I see Clemson covering the spread in this one just like Georgia did last week against Tennessee. Spiller is GOD in Clemson and he will have that house packed with a pumped tiger ball club. Clemson -14.5Comment -

I am local to Clemson also and the sky is falling for all clemson fans... Just listen to WCCP for about 1 hour and you'll realize that. The reality of it is not a fluke that Clemson is 2-3. They have no wide recievers and have no linebackers. It's not a quick fix where Clemson will come abck and win 6 straight like they did last year... There is no CJ Spiller or Jacoby Ford to bail them out this year. What has Clemson done thus far to warrant a spread that is OVER 2 touchdowns? Georgia is a lot different than Clemson. They were missing most likely the #1 WR in teh draft this year. Obviously when he came back, Georgia was going to be a much better team and it showed on the field. Just because "Spiller" is back in town doesn't change the fact that Clemson is not very good this year... no matter what way you slice it, there is no quick fix to their deficiencies this year.Comment -

#23The truth is, it's not just one player. They had Jacoby Ford who could stretch the field last year and CJ Spiller... The offense was literally between those two players basically every play (with a little Palmer mixed in). It's not like they were that good last year anyway... Ellington is a stud.. everyone else on their team most likely wouldn't sniff the field on any good teams. I think Maryland wins straight up.Comment -
