    #7 Florida at #1 Alabama
Big SEC game in Tuscaloosa Saturday night. Chances are, this won't be the last time they play each other this year. Starting this thread for anyone to post information about this game.

The Florida Gators are ranked 78th in the nation in total offense (355.75 ypg), 47th in rushing offense (170.25), 90th in passing offense (185.50) and 19th in scoring offense (37.75 ppg).

On defense, the Gators are ranked 26th in total defense (295.5 ypg), 13th in rushing defense (94), 61st in passing defense (201.5) and 15th in scoring defense (14.25).

Alabama leads the nation in scoring defense (9.75 ppg). The Crimson Tide ranks 24th in total defense (295.25) 27th in rushing defense (106.5) and 52nd in passing defense (188.75).

Bama's Greg McElroy led the nation in passing efficiency through three games, but his rating fell from 200.03 to 178.68 following the Arkansas game. He now ranks seventh in the nation. Through four games, McElroy has completed 61 of 86 passes for 899 yards and seven touchdowns with three interceptions.

Florida's John Brantley has completed 73 of 114 for 700 yards with six touchdowns and one interception.

Alabama's Mark Ingram is averaging 154 yards rushing per game after missing the first two games with a knee injury. Fellow running back Trent Richardson ranks fourth in the nation in all-purpose yards (rushing/receiving/returns) with 191 yards per game. He ranks fifth in kickoff returns (35.25 yards per return).

Welcome any information this week on this game.....................

Having watched most of Florida and Bama's games, I don't think this game will be much of a contest, and that Bama will win going away. And that's coming from a guy who grew up a Florida fan.

That being said, they probably will meet up again in the SEC Championship game. UT/UGA certainly don't have it this year. Which leaves South Carolina as the only challenger to Florida in the east, but coming down the stretch the Gamecocks' schedule is harder. Florida was fortunate to land Miss St/LSU on their schedule from the SEC West, whereas South Carolina got Arkansas/Auburn. Plus the USC-UF game is in Gainesville.

I'd like to see South Carolina win it at least once. You won't find more passionate and loyal fans anywhere in the country. They deserve to have a winner. But for it to be this year, they're going to have to probably beat Bama/Florida. They do get Bama at home, and they do get a bye week to prepare. And perhaps Florida softens Bama up enough the week before for USC to come in and pull the upset. It could happen. But I doubt it. Looks like the Tide is going to be rollin' straight through to Glendale.
No more of that talk, or I'll put the leeches on you.

Alabama had some major flubs on both sides of the ball in the first half against Arkansas but still found a way to win just as it has in each of the last 28 regular season games its played. Every team needs a win like this one to build the character for the long stretch. Last year, Tennessee and Auburn provided those test. Saturday, it was Arkansas' turn, but Bama passed with the same result as the previous two. Should help them against Florida this Saturday.
