#353Wow, there are no cappers anywhere that never have a losing day. And to say him hitting 70% in the NFL preseason was all luck is just retarded. You have to wait and see how the season plays out before throwing out garbage like that. We're all big boys here, everyone places their own bets. So you don't need to "save" anyone.Comment -

#355I agree that some people are haters and want to see SP fail, but honestly, SP brought a lot of this on himself. He comes out saying he is 125-10 over the past 8 years and when he had a chance to back off those claims, he didn't. I admit it, I believed him...I drank the kool-aid. Not everyone on here has the bankroll SP claims to have so yes, when he has a losing weekend, it hurts.
Kind of bothers me a little bit too that he didn't post anything last night. He's right there giving high fives and passing out points when he wins, but when he loses he is nowhere to be found.
I personally hate his NFL picks this week....yes I played them and I pray they come through, but after this weekend, I think I'll just go back to picking my own games.
I wish everyone here the best of luck, but I should have known better than to follow a guy who claims to have won 90% of his games over the past 8 years and offers his picks for free. The fact that he claims his NCAFF picks are always 5 units, then they go down to 2 units and in some cases lower, should have been my first indication this guy was a fraud.Comment -

Everyone has a losing day, you've made us money regardless.
Don't get why everyone is so angry... take a chill pill and relax and gtfo of the thread? What is your problem? He doesnt need to "prove" shit to anyone, if you tailed him from the start you would be up, don't like his picks? shut the **** up and dont pick them or fade them if you like, no one wants to hear your shit.

That is the funniest shit I have ever read on SBR.
I have to give SP the benefit of the doubt though----I can't imagine he would post such nonsense.Comment -

You have been on SBR, what 2 weeks?
Why did you decide to follow a guy who had such a small sample size here on SBR?
There are many many great cappers----on this site---you just have to work to find them. They rarely draw attention to themselves, but they do give out picks.
Just food for thought.Comment -

#362He had a bad day and i am sure that is going to make everyone question him but he, just like any reputable gambler, preaches money management!! I dont know what he ended up down yesterday but unless i missed anything he had 6 l-unit plays which he bets as 2.5% each right? The most you should be down is abt 15%. And i am pretty sure he won a few at least right? He did what any good gambler does. Reduced play size until he finds it again. I am not saying you should tail him or not tail him but if you got crushed yesterday you can only blame yourself. I thought SP showed great restraint not loading up on a 5* late last night to try and salvage the day!!
BoL everyone but learn money mgt quickly or you might as well donate your money to charity, at least you get a tax break for that!!!Comment -

#363The guy is hardly a fraud, and his claim of 10 losses might be spot on. People have to remember that these games he picked this week would have normally been leans. He said he hated posting leans that others were betting on and not him. Guys are so hungry for action here, he probably felt he would have gotten shit for not posting anything.
In the end remember, YOU are the one responsible for placing your bets. Use cappers picks like advice. Never blame a guy for losing days. The guy is only trying to help people. I'll never understand the people bashing guys who post their picks. Try making a thread and posting your picks, it takes a lot of balls to do.Comment -

No hard feelings though, I didn't lose my bankroll and ultimately I was the one who put the bets in. Some I disagreed with and they worked out, some didn't...oh well. SP never forced me to bet these games, he gave his opinion and I followed.
I'm already on record as not liking both NFL picks this week, but I bet them so I hope I'm wrong. I think over the course of the season if you hang in there with SP he'll win you money but no way in hell is he going to hit 90%...62-65% would be great.
I don't know SP but he seems like a good guy with a lot of patience so I wish him luck. Most of the fun in betting is looking at the lines yourself and making the decision...by following him like this, for me personally, it takes the fun out of it. I'm not looking to get rich, I do this for fun and hope to make a few bucks in the end.
Good luck today and let's go Jets and hope for rain, wind and everything else that will keep that score down in Carolina.Comment -

#367The reason I picked him to follow is I sorted the threads by views and saw he had far and away the most followers so I figured he had to be good. Throw in his claims of being 125-10 over and 8 year span and I decided to tail him. Trust me, I never believed he was 125-10, but I figured if he hit 70% it would be well worth my time. He can continue to say he was 125-10, I don't buy it for one minute. You don't lose 10 games over 8 years and then all of a sudden lose 4 in a day and 6 in 2 weeks. Hell, I can do that myself. Everyone goes through hot streaks...I even hit 10 in a row one saturday last year and promptly followed it up with 4 out of 5 on NFL the next day...over the next three weeks I think I lost 10 out 12, so I know everyone has there hot streaks...I was just hoping to ride one of his...only wish I knew him over his "8 year" hot streak.

SP certainly does seem like a nice guy----so I wish him well.
The lesson learned here though is this----SP certainly enjoys the attention when he wins---we all do----but there is another edge to that sword. And the crowd here can be brutal.Comment -

#372I learned to never and I mean ever put my money in the hands of some one else. Cause if I lose I can go back to the drawing board and figured out what worked and what didn't. If I just follow someone then I can't really see why the games didn't hit cause I don't know the system that person is using. I'm not saying don't follow a person but don't follow them blindly. Perfect example, my friend is following Doc this year and I have called out just about all of his losses before my friend took them. I told him and he didn't research and he lost money(a lot of it so far). What I've learned in two years is NFL lines are almost impossible and NCAAF gives away lines every week. You just to be willing to put in the time(which I don't have a lot of but I manage) to find them.Comment -

#374I made a few posts a couple weeks back regarding this fraud's claimed 125-10 record, and though given many opportunities to simply ackowledge the BS of that claim, he continued to run with it. Of course he and his supposed followers jumped on the bandwagon that I am a "tout" or someone with an ulterior motive.
The point was only to call it like it is, and I KNOW with absolute certainty that such a record is not possible given the numerous unpredictable events that occur all the time in these sporting events. Everyone has their runs and hot streaks, but just a shade over 1 loss per year is an utterly stupid claim, and that's what I wanted to bring to light.
Posting such silly claims in effort to draw attention to oneself may be fun for the poster, but the reality is that there are enough desperate &/or naive people out there who drink the kool-aid, and thereby put heavy money (too heavy) on these so-called "investments". Of course you can say, "those people deserve it", or "those people are stupid", etc. Maybe, maybe not.
I'm all about the board's mission and purpose of allowing everyone to post their free picks and share insights, and I'm not here to call out this guy's invidual picks as "bad" or whatever. However, I take issue with those that put their personal thirst for attention with preposterous claims ahead of the interests of the people he's trying to manipulate. He was given a chance to backdown, and he was also given a chance to wager $25,000 (or more) that he couldn't hit 80% over 25 picks ... he chose neither, which is fine.
SP could still turn out to be a decent capper and have a winning record and grow his bankroll. But, then, so could anyone. Tell people your losing only once per year, and I have no choice but to become a "newbie" poster and call it like it is.
Good luck to all on this board! Hopefully nobody will exercise unwitting devotion to one random chump in need of attention from here forward ... but that's doubtful, I guess.Comment -

And posters here are a very naive bunch.
Internet fame seems to be very very important to SP.
The more I look at SP3434's posting history---the more I begin to question how "honest" he is. And you guys need to take this into consideration.
SBR allows posters to do an advanced search on just about anything.
When I did that for SP---I noticed an oddity.
In his signature line---he claims a baseball record of 4-0 (Started September 22nd)-----yet, two weeks prior---he began a thread tracking his selections toward the end of the season. In that thread---he started out 0-3. He also lost the Phillies/Braves on September 21st.
Its as if he is playing PS3...and the moment he loses, he just hits the reset button.
Why the bullshit? Why not just say----My record is 4-5 or 5-4 since September? Why the need to post a record from the day he began to win?Comment -
