I think TN will be too distracted because of the showering discussion Dooley had with them last week.

I'd love to see a Vol win but just don't see it. Oregon has some weapons.

Tennessee returns nobody and has a new coach and system from a team that was mediocre at best last year. Tennessee beat a team by 50 points last week and got a shutout verses somebody that they were supposed to do that to (Tennessee st Martin?... Is that a high school?). That should not be any indication of how they would play against anybody tough the following week.

Who ever started this post was looking for some funny banter and not serious betting advice.
If you can get any SEC team besides Vanderbilt at +12 at home vs. any Pac-10 team, there really isn't much need to handicap the game too much deeper. Let's see how good the Oregon offense really is vs. a real defense.

Now Oregon may win the game, but it won't be by more than 10. That said, line is dropping so Tennessee is starting to lose appeal as line approaches 10. I'm glad I got in at +12.

Wow, this shows exactly my point about how nobody has shown any specific reason why Tennessee would win. I strongly urge everyone to look at the data and facts surrounding this game and honestly tell me that Tennessee has a chance to win this game. Simply saying that SEC is better than Pac-10 is not a reason to bet for Tennessee unless you can show that Oregon and Tennessee are at about the same level. Because yes, SEC probably has more competitive teams. But Oregon could be better than any SEC team this year (17 returning starters, offensive juggernaut last year, went to the Rose Bowl). And Tennessee looks like they are the worst SEC team this year (few returning starters and a new coach and they only went 7-6 last year).

Good luck to everyone, but I urge you to stay away from Tennessee this year.

Another broad generalization from another person who obviously reads headlines and doesn't look at specifics. Just because Washington St. and Oregon St. and other pac-10 schools haven't done well on the road in the past speaks nothing about Oregon this year. Why is Oregon going to be bad on the road cross country against Tennessee this year? Give me a specific. Not that the "Pac-10" is bad on the road.

              Sept 8, 2007, Oregon 39 Michigan 7.

So, Betting Wizard, LT Profits, you can see exactly why I asked for specific reasons on choosing Tennessee tonight and why making broad generalizations about Pac-10 and SEC conferences doesn't make any sense when evaluating two specific teams. And yet you guys were still sooooo sure of Tennessee. I hope you guys have learned a lesson and won't give your money to the sportsbooks again. You need to find specific information and insight to support your bets. Not just the fact that "Tennessee" is more popular and has lots of fans to fill a stadium. Those are laughable reasons for a win.

SEC homers, Oregon could beat any one of your teams on a neutral site. This was some of the most pathetic handicapping I have seen. Not one legitimate reason to take Tennessee. As we speak, the Tennessee A.D. is trying to see how he can get out of his return game in Eugene, knowing that Tennessee is going to get it kicked out of them again by a Pac 10 team. Tennessee now has lost 4 in a row to Pac 10 teams. Last night was a good old fashioned ass whippin', and nothing less. And to think Oregon got off to a slow start. This is why the books make so much money.

Oregon is vastly over rated IMO. Did you forget how Ohio State dominated them? Oregon is very small on both lines and soft in physicality. Tennessee outplayed them for half the game. The wheels fell off very quickly but still doesn't cover up the fact that they moved the ball against Oregon with ease. UT is a really bad football team right now and for them to put up that much a fight is a testimony that Oregon isn't as good as people think. Especially their defense. It's porous.

I see them losing to Stanford, OSU, Washington and Cal. Watch...

The offensive line is not small by any strech of the imagination. The defensive line is. The bottom line is that Oregon has the best skill position players overall, than any other Pac 10 team. They will destroy Washington, who has nothing. They get Stanford at home. That will be a win. The games they have to watch out for are the away games, at Cal, USC, and Oregon State.
