Believe me, LSU has always had offensive weapons, but the problem is the coaching. Here are a few names who will go pro: Reuben Randall, Russell Shepard, Terrance Tolliver, Richard Murphy, Joseph Barksdale, and Michael Ford (freshman). The defense is LSU's weakness. Florida ran about 25 dive plays for positive yardage and LSU couldn't stop them. Ever since Bo Pelini left, LSU's defense has been steadily declining. As far as Alabama, Auburn, and Arkansas....yes they are good teams, especially Bama, but they are by no means ahead of LSU talent wise. LSU has more talent than each of those teams. Patrick Peterson shut Julio Jones down in that game in Tuscaloosa. The one touchdown he had was when Peterson was on the sideline. As for Les Myles, he is a stubborn coach. He thinks he knows it all and won't allow the position coaches or coordinators to fully do their job. Only exception is on defense (problem there is no one has a clue). To assume that other teams are head and shoulders ahead of LSU is ludicrous. And YES, Nick Saban or Urban Meyer could win a BCS game or more with LSU. Les Myles does not ever put his talented team in a position to win. That is the problem. Why do you think they kept playing from behind all the time? LSU stayed in games off of just 'pure talent alone'. The game planning was atrocious and it was a miracle that LSU finished 9-4. One last thing, bet UNC huge when they play LSU in Atlanta in their first game of the season. UNC's defense is awsome and Butch Davis will have his team more than ready after game planning for the Tigers over the last 2 months. Butch > Les by far. Tarheels win 21-13.

Peterson is good, but shutting down Julio Jones? Jones was highly touted out of high school as the best reciever in the nation but it has yet to materialize. I am not high on Jones as you can tell and there are always alot of excuses surrounding him.

    Love the writeup, very knowledgeable.

As for the LSU vs Bama game in Tuscaloosa. Well, from my viewpoint LSU was controlling that game thru 3Q's and in the 4Q they got KO'oed. LSU players were getting hit hard and leaving the field as they lost 14-0 in the 4Q. Don't know if that is coaching are not, but those were my observations.

Lyon Julio Jones had no catches in that game against Peterson. Julio Jones scored immediately after Peterson went out the game with a cramp. But when Peterson was in the game Julio was on operation shut down.

You remember that INT they took from Peterson on that replay system. Peterson had Julio locked down.

So the bottom line is that LSU needs a new coach, right? Because LSU is not going to be a conteneder in the SEC this season with that pathetic offense. So this is miles last season at LSU. Is that what you LSU homers are saying? I do not necessairily disagree about Miles, but you are way off in your talent assessment.

          Z,

Don't think Bo will leave NEB, has turned the defense around, BIG 10 next year. Why would he go back to LSU?

I made an argument based on JJ not being a great reciever. What is his stats? Not very good i imagine.

LSU has a good running game. If they stick to the run game and let the QB manage the game they will be ok. If they try to run the offense through Jefferson it over. The QB that took off on them a few years ago screwed up the qb rotation They have problems with other teams that can run right at them. The undersized at the DT spot. Much like Michigan. If you try to run around the edge LSU defense will catch you. You have to run at the A and B gaps
