Coming from someone who also played Michigan +: it was an incredibly strong situational play, and no one could have known that Henne's injury would would affect his play that much, as he played with the injury much of the year, and played pretty well for the most part. I agree with you that Henne was stubborn for wanting back in when it was clear it wasn't for the well-being of the team, but it's not surprising that a senior wanted to play in his last game against a rival he's never beaten. The blame should fall on Lloyd Carr for not pulling him sooner and then allowing him back in after it was apparent he wasn't effective. In the end, though, it was probably irrelevant, as it's beyond unlikely Mallett would have done anything positive.
Hart was also less than 100%, but, again, it wouldn't have mattered. Adrian Peterson could have been in the backfield for UM yesterday and it wouldn't have helped. The OSU D-line completely dominated UM's O-line and there were 2 or 3 guys in the backfield when Hart got the ball.
Congrats to the OSU backers, but anyone who capped this game and came to the conclusion that Boeckman could complete 7 passes for 50 yards and have OSU lose the turnover battle and still cover the 4/4.5 is full of sh*t. UM couldn't have played worse offensively, yet they covered more than half the game and were 1 play from getting the cover.
BB, obviously the play didn't cash, but there were many strong factors that pointed toward UM. Unfortunately, it didn't work out, but that's gambling. There's always next week.
