I am taking memphis all the way. It's going to be an emotional game and they will dominate. They will easily cover -2.5. Also at home they will kick marshalls ass back to the stone age. The last time memphis played at home against marshall it was 26-3 win.

Marshall has yet to win a game but the Thundering Herd have a good chance of breaking their maiden against a bad Memphis team whose only win was against a horrible Jacksonville State team (Division 1AA). Marshall has a very good offensive team, as quarterback Bernie Morris has averaged 7.4 yards per pass play (against teams that would combine to allow 5.9 yppp to an average quarterback) and has led his offense to an average of 6.1 yards per play (when he’s under center) versus a schedule of teams that would allow just 5.2 yppl to an average attack. Memphis defends the run well but the Tigers are horrible against the pass (6.9 yppp allowed to teams that would average only 5.0 yppp against an average defensive team) and Marshall is certainly likely to take advantage of that weakness given that the Herd average 42 pass plays per game. The Memphis offense is 0.3 yppl worse than average but the Tigers should move the ball pretty well against a Marshall defense that is 0.7 yppl worse than average. Overall, Marshall is a much better team from a yards per play perspective and the Herd also have better special teams, but Memphis applies to a 230-125-5 ATS statistical indicator and Marshall is just 1-11 ATS on the road when not getting at least 28 points under head coach Mark Snyder, including 0-2 ATS this season. I'm surprised no mention to the issue that Marshal has a real kicker and Memphis does not. and also the fact that Memphis is playing their 3rd game in 10 days, has not practiced and is already a poorly conditioned team.
The home field advantage is for real in this game. other than that (and an edge in turnover differential) Marshal is clearly the superior team.Comment -

I said this when the Steelers blew out the Bills after their tight end was hurt. Off field distractions can factor into a game in a big way. These are still kids playing and I don't think they will come to play tonight. Memphis will come out flat.Comment -

anyone remember last season was like the 30th anniversary of that crash, and there was going to be this big rememberance ceremony when they played ECU. i remember reading an article in the paper that Marshall's plane had trouble in the air and they had to divert and land somewhere else. that had to be some spooky shit for those players and coaches. thankfully there wasn't a wreck on the anniversary.Comment -
If you are talking about the player who was murdered on the Memphis team, I don't believe this helps a team. I think it hurts a team, because they are in mourning and not concentrating on the game. The edge goes to Marshall here. This is something that very well may not be factored into the line because a lot of people are not aware of this. Take Marshall.Comment -

I do not understand teasing the dog and under in this game as mentioned by poster above. If you like the dog and under I would bet each seperately.
If you tease the two, the house is only going to give you -110 or whatever which is a huge vig that more than washes away any correlation between under and dog in this case.Comment -
