LSU is a very good team but 18 in a season opener is a lot of chalk. Sly Croom will come into this game ready to play. LSU wins it but not by 18. This is one that I see a last minute sensless TD by the Bulldogs to cover.

Tulsa -3 Tulsa never gets any respect if you play this one play Tulsa.

Oregon State -6
This is a team that beat CAL and Boise State last year. They haven't fallen that far. This one should be over with by Half Time.

Razz whats up my man ? The LSU game is a tough pick for me. I dont know why I'm thinking Miss ST pulls the cover but I'm feeling they will. Now I do like LSU 1st half -10 1/2 LSU no doubt will roll up the points. My other 2 games I feel very good about the Beavers are a solid team returning 25 Seniors. I'll probably play it like this.

As for Alabama I'll give up a loss to Vandy for an LSU win. I'm sure C Saban would as well. I'm looking at eight wins this year. Alabama could be going into game 6 with a 1-4 record Vandy Arkansas Georgia and Florida State. I thing it will be more like 4-1 or 3-2 with Florida State as the one I cant Figure out at this point. it was very hard for me to hit "submit" for this play due to the fact that I rarely bet double digit road favs, let alone in conference, but I'm rolling the dice here...I just think there's that much of a talent gap here, but I could be wrong...GL the rest of the weekend as well Aces...

Talent Gap no question about that its the turnover factor and how bad will Miles roll them up. LSU has VA Tech the following week and I'm sure they dont want to take a chance on injuring anyone or showing to much. Mississippi State will do the ball control thing and try to speed the game up which will make it hard for LSU to score. When LSU gets the ball they will score the question is can Miss State put up the 10 to 14 points they'll need to cover.

good points...the only real ways I see MSU scoring is if they get a special teams return, or LSU turns the ball over deep in their own territory...the tailback for MSU is good, but LSU will shut him down...Hennig is very erratic with his passes, although he has a strong arm...I'm looking for a couple of picks from him...and I really don't think LSU takes their foot off the gas in this one...2 first place votes is all they got, I think they want to win impressively here...in fact a 7-10 point win vs. MSU should feel like a loss to them...MSU is a historically bad first half of the year team under Croom and I think too much is being made of MSU returning so many starters...and the new but old clock rules won't help teams like MSU this year...

You lost all credibility predicting Alabama to win 8 games this year. Saban is not that good. Schedule is too tough , lucky to break even this year. Only sure thing at BAMA is Bear Bryant's name mentioned over 100 times each week.

I would classify the Alabama schedule as very easy by SEC standards. If the lines were out for all their games, they'd be favored in 9 - I'm not saying they'll win all those by any means - and vs. LSU and @ Auburn are both winnable games as well. The only "sure" loss for me is the FSU game in Jacksonville.

I don't think people appreciate how good the Alabama offense is going to be this season. That team is as stacked at the WR position as anyone in the country except maybe California. The loss of Darby is really negligible. Johns was better than him last year anyway. He, Coffee, and Grant will at least match the numbers he put up. The offensive line is not going to be anywhere near as much of a liability as it was a year ago, and bringing in Applewhite - look what he did at Rice with far less weapons - will only inject life into what Shula had made a stagnant offense.

Of course, the defense might be terrible. There may be holes in the defense, and it's a legitimate concern. It could lose them some games - a la @ Vandy, vs. Tennessee - that they really should win. But all in all, I would say that 8 wins is more than reasonable. I've actually got them going 9-3, but 7 or fewer wins would surprise me a lot more than 10 wins.

What's the total on the LSU game? Sounds like the under might be the way to play. Ace, I don't understand your reasoning - you are basically banking on MSU getting some turnovers, and TOs are pretty difficult to predict. I might make a small play on the under, but the side looks too tough to call.

I am a little disappointed that the LSU offense is throttled on the first 2 drives. Miles needs to let Crowton do his thing and if he is holding him back I will forget everything I said about LSU. Its still early but it looks alot like "Miles ball" and we cannot have that!!

Whenever I hedge I lose for a push...whenever I don't hedge, i lose the original bet. What annoys me more than anything is that 75 percent of the time I make the right call...if I play the first half only. Had I taken the 1st half under, I would have won. I was praying for a missed extra point.
