Just had to vent. I thought Brian Kelly was an awesome coach and upstanding guy. Him leaving Cincy before the bowl game tells me that he is just another selfish, self-absorbed head coach who doesn't give a shit about his players. Now I've got another reason to root against Notre Dame and hope that this fat ass follows the footsteps of the former fat ass coach who just got fired.

Of course I am bias because I am a student at UC, but I hope he fails and I hope Notre Dame fails as well. All the good things that Kelly did at Cincinnati have been trumped by the way this entire situation was handled. I will not remember Brian Kelly as the savior of college football in Cincinnati, but more so the selfish prick that sold his players out after they get to the 2nd biggest bowl game of the year.

#3What you two fail to understand is the business of college football. Kelly had to leave as soon as possible to start gearing up for the Irish's next season. He has to replace assistant coaches. He has to hit the recruiting trail. He has to contact kids that have already committed to Notre Dame and assure them that they made the right choice. That is a lot of work to do in a relatively short period of time. His leaving will not affect the line, as Cincy was a huge dog going in and will remain so. The line is still at Florida -10 to 10.5. If he is bringing any assistants from Cincinnati with him, be thankful that he will wait until after the Sugar Bowl to do that.Comment -

#4We're not failing to understand the business, but I think Notre Dame could wait another month - after all, they've sucked for nearly a decade. This is about character and doing what's morally and ethically right. He owes it to the Cincy program and that team to stay for another month and show everyone that Cincy deserved to be in the national title hunt. What message does that send? f*** loyalty and f*** everyone else; I'm going for the money. That mindset is the ruin of this country.
What the assholes at Notre Dame weren't smart enough to realize is that Coach Kelly is a clone of Charlie Weiss - a great offensive coach and HORRIBLE defensive coach.. I take solace in the fact that Notre Dame will continue to suck for the next 6 years (if he makes it that long).

As far as morals and ethics are concerned, you are in the wrong site. Take it to a Sunday Sermon Site. This is college football. This is a business. No one gives a caca about morals or ethics. If I were him, I make the same decision. Notre Dame is going to pay me what I deserve. Cincinnati would not. That is the way the American Economic System works. It is called the free enterprise system.Comment -

Hey Sparky-----as a UC student were you upset when Kelly left Central Michigan before THEIR BOWL GAME to take the job at Cincinnati?
No, no, no.....you guys had no problems with that.
Suddenly you grow a set of outrage nuts.
You either have a short memory or you became a fan of Cincy football in the last 20 minutes.Comment -

At this moment in time, Kelly is the coach at ND----not Cincinnati.
It is in Cincinnati's best interest not to have Kelly coach. Kelly will spend every waking second of his recruiting in the month of December. Why would Cincinnati want a guy who doesn't want to be there, clearly distracted---coaching their game?
That makes no sense.Comment -

Either Kelly's classless for not going to the bowl with Cincinnati
Or, Notre Dame is classless for not letting Kelly coach the bowl game.Comment -

#15If Bearcats fans are looking to blame anyone, then blame the AD who didn't have something in the contract that would have prevented Kelly from even talking to another school at this time. If the school didn't include that clause in the deal, then they fully understood what could happen...either that or the officials at the school are truly idiots and have no clue how things work in the world of college athletics.Comment -
