Not nearly as big a play as Cincinatti was for me tonite, and not nearly as big of a writeup...1-0 on these Big East writeups..Hope to go 2-0 by tommorow...
My angle again is simply that I have watched both teams in several games and I honestly think Rutgers makes a solid stand at home...Most important is my belief that Dave Wandstat will simly be outcoached even if he has the superior team...
Pitts coaching is atrocious....especially on the road... Wanny scored 0 points in the Sun Bowl last year... I cant even begin to explian the decisionmaking in that game....This season has been marred by a certain ineptitude that defies any rational explanation... I'm talking bombing it out on 3rd and 1, attempting ridiculously long field goals in a tight game late, and 3-4 attempts of the exact same run up the middles when trailing???....Terrible... The most painful (for me as a bettor and for PITT fans) was the N.C. State game where Pitt led by 14 into the third Q and then played so conservative on offense to get outscored by 21 and outgained by 200 yards in the span of 18 minutes or so....
Now Pitt has the better team overall, but their QB Stull cannot be trusted to make smart plays under pressure...He has'nt had too many INT's but consistantly takes a sack before throwing it out of bounds.....Pitts running game is impressive, agreed, but has to make up for the follies that coach and QB account for and thus are really the only consistant offense....
Rutgers is outmatched in this game talent wise, but Schiano is a much better playcaller, decisionmaker, gambler, etc....
Metaphorically I see this game as a final table poker match between the last 2 guys playing for the pot.... Wandstadt and Pitt got the big stack, but Schiano is the better player overall... Who wins is up to fate but I gladly take Rutgers at +5.5.....
GL all this week,.....
