    One Play I LOVE - BOSTON COLLEGE + 7
Here is another spot where I think the points are just too huge. This should be a tight game decided by less than 7. Boston College has a real shot of winning this game ( The Play is BOSTON COLLEGE + 7 , NOT ML ).

Here is a Boston College team who returns 7 on both sides of the ball from a team that finshed with a better record than Clemson last year. They played a stronger schedule, and finshed 9-5 while Clemson only finished 7-6. The Eagles bring a great Defense that shut out 3 teams last year and held 10 of their 14 opponents to 21 or less.

The Defense only gave up an average of 18 points a game last year, and that doesnt count the fact that BC has only given up 7 points in 2 games this year.

Clemson on the other hand, is a perennially overrated team. They started in the top 10 last year and finished with 6 losses. They were getting so much hype this year, and have already lost. Ga Tech dominated this team leading huge in the first half before Clemson made it look like a close game but still lost.

Boston College had 2 easy games the first 2 weeks so I think its fair to say they have been preparing for this Clemson game for some time. Its a revenge game for BC as Clemson won by 6 last year. Boston College's strong defense really matches up well against Clemson her. While 7 points may not seem like that much, when your D only gives up 18 a game & points is HUGE.

Clemson is overrated again this year. They return 7 and 8 from a 7-6 team that padded its record with wins over The Citadel, SCarolina State, and Duke. Clemson doesnt stand up well to the big boys and here they are laying 7. Two scores is way too much, as I see this game being decided by less than a TD.

    YTD 3-0

I'll disagree with on the Clemson v. Georgia Tech game (and based on my name, I'm clearly a GT fan). Although Tech jumped out big early, we were helped by a punt return for a TD, a fake FG for a TD, and a 82 yd run for a TD. Clemson has two strong DT's that were a big factor in our game and really bottled up Dwyer.

I was pretty impressed by Clemson's freshman QB Parker. He stayed cool under pressure and led his team back from a 24 point deficit. Spiller is obviously a big player, and capable of breaking a big one on any play. Now the big play also helped Clemson as two of their TDs were on long pass plays.

Clemson's OT's got beat several times by D. Morgan, so if BC had some quick ends, that could be a big difference.

As far as coaching goes, I have no doubt Dabo will be out coached.

I'm not implying Clemson is the play, I just wanted to point out a few things I saw from the GT game (I've watched it twice).

Here is a Boston College team who returns 7 on both sides of the ball from a team that finshed with a better record than Clemson last year.
BC's D was outstanding last year, probably the best in the conference. BC, however, only returns six on defense, as ACC Defensive Player of the Year Herzlich has been diagnosed with cancer and will miss the season. Or maybe it's five returning on defense, since MLB Mike McLaughlin hasn't played this year and is doubtful again this week (achilles tendon). Factor in the losses of two DT's drafted in the first and second rounds, and this isn't the same D as last year. Still solid, but not like last year.

By the way, who's playing QB for BC this week? Whoever he is, he'll be playing his first road game in front of 81,000 fans.

They played a stronger schedule, and finshed 9-5 while Clemson only finished 7-6.
They also played Clemson, and lost, in Chestnut Hill. By the way, Clemson changed coaches, which means that you can throw out Clemson's history of underachievement.

Ga Tech dominated this team leading huge in the first half before Clemson made it look like a close game but still lost.
I don't think that's accurate. Georgia Tech's offense scored a grand total of one touchdown, on an 82-yard run on Tech's second play from scrimmage. Then there was a long punt return for a TD (on a punt out of FG formation) and an illegal fake field goal for a touchdown. These are the kind of big plays that happen when a team is rattled by the energy of a Thursday night game on the road, but domination implies something more consistent than one offensive TD on a one-play "drive".

Clemson's OT's got beat several times by D. Morgan, so if BC had some quick ends, that could be a big difference.
The tackle who got beat (Lambert) has been benched for the BC game. He swapped positions with LT Hairston for the 2H against Tech, and Morgan didn't get any sacks in the 2H after getting three in the first. Landon Walker will get the start at RT against BC. He's not necessarily an upgrade, obviously, or he would have started the last game.

Clemson is overrated again this year.
Clemson is underrated this year with the major upgrades at head coach and quarterback. 2-0 ATS so far, soon to be 3-0.

I go to Boston College, and have been a BC football fan for 9 years now. The last two seasons I have predicted their record perfectly, and nailed almost every game. I know their strengths, weaknesses, and how they match up with opponents (especially ACC teams).

I will be taking Clemson -6.5 in this one.

I'd say my knowledge of ACC football is as good as anyone who you could listen to on ESPN.

I tried to advise people to steer clear of Ga Tech last thursday to no avail. This is a not a good play.

Clemson will win by 10+....they have a very good D (very good!)...they shut down the triple option O of GT (most GT scores were special teams)...Clemson may not lose another ACC game. My prediction would be 34 - 20...

For a safer bet, I would fade UVA all year long...Al Groh will more than likely be fired soon and the the entire team is in shambles right now...just a thought though.

                              Clemson wins 30-13, ish.

You are right about the Ga Tech game. Clemson completely outplayed them.

If you take away Allen's first run (first play of the game), Clemson held one of the best rushing teams in the country to 219 yards on 48 carries. BC will be playing a freshman QB who has never played in a road environment, and Death Valley is one of the most hostile places around. The secondary is very legit, but the front seven is essentially a brand new cast, and not good enough (yet) to make up for the lack of speed (in comparison to what Clemson has on the offensive side of the ball).

Just my $.02, take it for what it's worth

                                      Nice write up.

But here is the thing. I just can't get past BC's QB situation. Shinskie is what, 25 years old, and has been out of football for almost 7 years? And their schedule has been ridiculous. Northeastern and Kent? That doesn't tell me much about this team.

Clemson had a horrible first half against Tech, but impressed me with their second half. They shut down Tech in the second half.

I am in the minority in this one, but Clemson is my play.

Best of luck to you guys who have BC.

I am backing out of this play. I know its a bonehead thing to do, but its not the first time I have done something stupid.

I posted this analysis. Compared to the other analysis' this one was very week.

I got a lot of feedback on Clemson which convinced me that My research missed a lot of key points.

I wasnt aware how Ga Tech scored and the 3 key starters that BC is without.

I just got a lot of good analysis/feedback supporting Clemson.

I had bet $330 on BC +7 and now bought back $330 on Clemson - 6 1/2 at sportsbook.com, so I figure I would rather lose the $30 juice than play a guess game.

Not saying I like Clemson -7, just that I think this is a toss up game.

Im not counting this in my record win or lose, and I think thats fair since its still 2 days before game time and the line hasnt moved.

However, Middle Tennessee State + 7 is a play.

                                        Good luck
