Northwestern +1.5 at Purdue
Hmmm, the wrong team favored? The line has come down a bit but I still like NW getting points on the road where they are 10-2 ats. NW QB should be back from his injury last year. Purdue should be decent on offense but the defense may struggle early. I also love NW first half, even on the road.

Wake -6.5 at Tulane plus O56.5
I'm nervous that this line is dropping but I like Wake and their rush attack here against Tulane, especially in the first half. It might take Tulane awhile to adjust, which could be too late. This could be a good live bet game where you watch the first couple of series to Guage Tulane defense. I love the over, which might hit at halftime.

i am leaning the other way on both UCF and Wake. i think UConn could be really bad. very few starters back. i think tulane has really been improving. so it's more opinions on those 2 teams than UCF/Wake

i think you are probably correct on NW/Purdue. that NW QB is so important to this though......... not sure if this was true last season, but i'd almost never bet against NW and HC Fitzgerald.

btw, i wanted to say that i almost always agree with you in political/decency debates in the Saloon, but i've given up arguing that stuff as it is so frustrating

I can definitely see where UCF blows the doors off a suck ass UConn team BUT I'm thinking UCF is puffing up their chests, believing their press a bit. Plus with a new head coach things often don't gel well early. UCF has the better talent across the board, UConn has a shitty home court, so that's not an advantage either. They return only 2 players on defense, which might be a positive because most guys last year were awful. But, I'm not a believer in UCF's defense, so UConn might get lucky enough to score a few times. UCF might make a few mistakes, especially from the new coaching staff and that could be enough for a cover. The over might be the safer play but I'm leaning first game jitters by a UCF team that should stick a fork in the Huskies but may not be able to.

My initial lean was Tulane but the more I looked into Wake, the more I liked them. I think Wake will be the more physical team in the trenches which will make the difference in the end. I'm might be liking the over in this one more than the line.

I agree, it is very frustrating arguing in these forums. I keep telling myself to not get caught up in it but end up being too stupid to stop myself. LOL. Good luck this season bro.

UCF up 14-0 in the first 5 minutes. This looks like the blow out I thought. Glad I stayed off of it. I might take a live bet if milton goes out early. I'm really wanting to play Wake coming up but can't quite pull the trigger just yet. Probably should wait for a live bet on that game too.

UCF defense trash as expected. UConn making a nice drive here, eating a lot of clock (that's killing the over) but watch them turn the ball over or do something stupid. UConn has been in UCF territory 3 times but 0 points. A good team is going to beat up this UCF defense.

Good Luck this year! I'm on Northwestern too. Their D should be really good. Picked Purdue off on the first drive. They'll need no more then 24-27 and they'll be good to go. Purdue may move the ball between the 20s but they'll struggle w/short yardage and red zone.

I'm on UCF tonight, but their defense looks horrible! This Uconn team is in a rebuilding stage and they have been moving the ball well against the UCF defense, they just haven't finished any drives. UCF's D-line is not getting much pressure on the QB at all.

Yeah, I'm taking a lot of notes on this UCF defense. The offense is what I expected but this defense does not look good, even though Uconn has only put up 10 points. Every time I looked up UConn was driving the field but just couldn't finish worth a shit. The over should have hit easily if UConn didn't shit over themselves. It still should hit with UCF scoring at will. UConns defense is totally gassed. This is a very poor/slow looking team. Should be able to make some money fading both these teams in spots.

Leans this weekend...

Utah State at Michigan State OVER 51. UTSU offense should be able to put up some points, which should push MSU to score as well. I'm also leaning UTSU to cover +23.

FAU +20.5 vs OU. FAU can run the ball, passing game might be suspect though, OU can run but no Baker could impact the passing game. OU pass defense is very suspect to me. Both teams have equal rush defenses, FAU may be better at take aways and sacks. I love getting this many points with Lane Kiffen at the helm. He'll find a way to keep this close.

Indiana -7 first half and -10.5 at FIU. This game has a ton of unknowns as both teams lose a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. FIU has a great Dline but young DB's replace 4 that were average last year. FIU offense has lost a lot of skill players, including the QB. They had a great recruiting class this year but it's going to take a few games for these players to step up. Indy's offense should be more stable and the defense okay enough to hold FIU down. Indiana first half should be a great bet here.

VaTech at FSU -7, VaTech is a mess across the board. They've lost so many players to injuries, ineligible, quitting. They are going to be playing a lot of inexperience guys on Monday. FSU has Francois back and if the OLine can keep him healthy, they are going to put up points. This game should not be close. I see FSU winning this by 3 TDs.

UMass 17.5 at BC
MD +14 vs UT I'm not sold on Strip club Hermann in Austin. This could be an upset.

- If there's 3 things for certain, it's death, taxes and Florida beating Kentucky. Florida defense looked crazy good last week (against a very inferior opponent of course) but they seem to finally have a pulse on offense. I think Florida comes out hyped and will make plays early and the game may settle down a bit in the 2nd half, where UK might backdoor cover the +14 cover. I'll go with UF in the first half.

- Everyone is sky high on Clemson but they've never really impressed me on the road the last few years. They are money at home but a crap shoot on the road. I think coming into College Station will be a bit of a shock for this team. Add the fact that Jimbo knows this Clemson team very well and has always planned well for them. I love this play. Take them early and take them late. This could be an upset brewing.

- South Carolina is a tough nose team that is hard to game plan for. Georgia has been getting love since last year but USC is not afraid to play this team. I do not think the gap is 10+ points. The game should be close.

- Oklahoma was easily the best team I saw last week. I knew the offense would be good, especially the running game but I was surprised the passing game looked good but SHOCKED that the defense was lights fukking out. OMG, that was an impressive win over an over matched team. UCLA looks like total dog shit. Now they travel from West to East for an early morning kickoff? I think they get their teeth kicked in before they know it's lunch time. This feels like a statement beat down.
