    Betting 1-AA games in 2018
    Does anyone see these games being taken more seriously?

    IE, will any shops be offering -110 juice and decent limits (like $500+)? Seems like they're posted occasionally as a courtesy, maybe until the playoffs.

    For now, they seem like more of a novelty to me.

    Bump.

    Phil Steele USED to publish a 1-AA preview mag. One full page on each 1-AA team.

    Incredible level of detail. But I have to imagine the 1-AA preview barely sold at all and lost $$. Don't think he's put it out for Last few years.

      phil steele made loud noises about not publishing 1AA guide without more $$$$ support from buyers.

      not sure what happened but it looks like he just published one for this year. see his site.. my guess is phil is so enthusiastic he can't help himself even if it isn't a smart $$$$ proposition

        Thx, Jets. Didn't know that. You have a link?

        I did purchase that 1AA guide once or twice. Of course, Phil is notorious for putting out a great amount of content. That DOESN'T mean he's a great handicapper.

        Several reasons to be knowledgable about 1AA:
        1) There are lines on many of these games. And the lines can't be that sharp.
        2) If YOUR 1a team is playing the 1AA opponent, you want to know the relative strength of that team.
        3) The 1AA playoffs can be fun at EOY.

        All that said, I think the books have to get more serious about these games, b4 anyone is going to invest a lot of effort into studying these teams.

          Just for kicks, I looked at NoDakSt schedule. No 1A opponents this year. But they do have a nice set of opponents:

              OK, I purchased it + started browsing. Like any Steele publication, he's never short on depth of content.

              I will say that I'm disappointed in two things. A couple things missing, when compared to the 1A mag:
              * Returning starters
              * Historical lines

                Bump. Really disappointed w/ the market offerings on opening Saturday. For example:

                Austin Peay (ranked 22 in FCS) at #3 Georgia.

                Don't see a line. This would seem like a great added board game.

                  Normally offshore books post their lines on FCS vs FBS matchups until gameday. I've noticed that most books will be offering FCS vs FCS odds this year...that's an improvement.

                    Good post. I agree, it actually looks pretty good. It did appear that u could get action on any FCS vs FCS matchup.

                    Wish they would post FBS vs FCS b4 game-day. But that doesn't appear to be in the offing.
