Is this concept really this tough to understand? I will try again. If you have some MMA news put it in the monthly MMA thread. If you need to have your name headlining a post then at the start of the month you start the monthly MMA thread. Now the reason we do this? It helps every swinging dick around here to just go to one thread instead of a thousand of them. Thanks for yur time.Comment -

Sideloaded doesn't understand many simple concepts. I gave up on this douchebag months ago, nothing to see here, carry on.Comment -

#85The Health of DaMarques Johnson
"Johnson last fought on August 4, where he suffered a brutal knockout loss to Mike Swick on live national television. And yet, here we are, under two months later, and Johnson is getting back in the cage again after taking a fight against Gunnar Nelson on short notice.
I have no idea how Johnson was cleared to train again so soon, much less take an actual fight. After the Swick fight, Johnson was suspended 45 days, with 30 of those being no-contact. He could be cleared for training and competition as long as he is given the OK by a neurologist.
So technically, I guess it's plausible that Johnson was badly concussed under two months ago and saw some sort of doctor who cleared him to return to the cage, where he'll likely get his brain rattled around one more time. But the fact that it's plausible doesn't make it right.
Johnson showed up for the weigh-ins on Friday at 183 pounds. He and Nelson both fight at welterweight, but they agreed to make this one a catchweight bout since Johnson was out of shape and taking the bout on short notice. We have no idea what the catchweight actually was—because the UFC is the commission when in England and they don't really put out this kind of information willingly—but I suspect it was the 175 pounds that Nelson made.
Johnson didn't even come close to making the weight, and he was given an hour to try and shed even more weight. And so on top of the neurological damage he suffered in August, Johnson is now trying to shed weight in ways that are extremely unhealthy for your body.
This is a guy who should not be fighting on Saturday night. Plain and simple, he should not be in the cage. He's clearly out of shape and is not ready for a fight with someone the calibre of Nelson.
The right thing to do here, and I hope the UFC does it, would be to thank Johnson for stepping up on short notice, pay both guys and give them tickets to watch from the stands, because that's a much better option than allowing Johnson to go in the cage on Saturday night."Comment -

#86UFC boss White confirms Matt Mitrione turned down Strikeforce fight with Daniel Cormier
NOTTINGHAM, England – Dana White thought he had Daniel Cormier's next opponent all set up. Instead, it was back to the drawing board.
Cormier (10-0 MMA, 7-0 SF) was scheduled to fight former UFC heavyweight champ Frank Mir (16-6 MMA, 14-6 UFC) in about a month in Oklahoma City. But Mir dropped out with an injury, and White and the Zuffa brass went to work on his replacement.
White thought it was going to be Matt Mitrione (5-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) – but the UFC heavyweight turned down the fight earlier this week.
"It f---ing makes me sick," White told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) on Saturday following the UFC on FUEL TV 5 post-fight news conference. "Listen, you don't want big opportunities, I hear you. I get it, then. All I can say is, I guess he doesn't want big opportunities. I get it. Duly noted.
"He wants to fight a guy who weighs 205, but doesn't want to fight the guy who's the real heavyweight, the legitimate guy who's ranked. And Mitrione's not getting any younger."
The 205-pounder White alluded to is Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, who has a newly developed beef with Mitrione, the popular Season 10 contestant from "The Ultimate Fighter" who had an NFL career before jumping into MMA.
But White said a Mitrione-Jackson fight isn't in the cards. Jackson is a light heavyweight, but could move up, of course. But he's also on the shelf after pulling out of a UFC 153 fight against Glover Teixeira.
Mitrione's next fight is booked already. He's scheduled to fight Phil De Fries (9-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) at UFC 155 on Dec. 29 in Las Vegas.
"F---in' insane," White said. "It makes no sense to me, and it's insane. I'm a little bummed out by it. We'll figure it out. Yeah, (he's already got a fight booked). He said, 'I'll just take that one.'"
White told MMAjunkie.com that Cormier agreeing to fight Mitrione wasn't any kind of an issue.
"Cormier will fight anybody," White said. "The guys who are the real guys fight anybody, man. They'll fight anybody."Comment
