edgar says he wants a rematch and has no interest in featherweight. i think he has a better chance of beating henderson in a rematch than jose aldo.

#2He deserves it more than anyone in the division right now. Henderson is going to be out for a while with all the damage he suffered from the Edgar fight. Edgar can probably get in a fight with probably Pettis and still get the next shot.Comment -

#3I chased on edgar that night and i knew for sure henderson beat him. I walked out before they announced the decision cause i was so pissed. I'm saying that edgar clearly lost the fight. I didnt feel he was a threat to henderson at any point. The most he could do was throw some nuisance punches and try to score points with useless takedowns. Henderson looked pretty unscathed. I'm not sure what injuries Henderson has sustained...but i would guess it would be his feet or hands from kicking and punching frankie so hard.
I dont get why everyone is saying edgar deserves a rematch because he gave the last two guys rematches. Nope.,..he didnt "give" them anything...those rematches were well deserved.Comment -

#4Of course the champion "deserves" a re-match. But that was the first time someone other than Frankie, BJ Penn, or Maynard fought for that damn title since the Abu Dabi PPV. That seemed like an eternity ago.

#5Who in the division beats Edgar? The guy that fights for the belt should be the #1 contender. Who else has gone on a streak that puts up a better fight than Edgar? There's not really any names out there of guys with even 3 wins in a row that are in the mix.Comment -

#8Pretty bad idea in my opinion, Frankie wasn't even close to winning that fight.
Give Frankie a big fight with one of the top five guys, and give him a title shot if he wins. Nothing unfair about that.Comment -

Again don't think it would work as it would be a lenghty wait for bendo (which might be alright since he's injured), but this really is a perfect scenario me thinks...
I do gotta agree with TS that overall no one deserves a rematch when asking for one more than Frank- he's supported a rematch for two different fighters on two different occasions, so why shouldn't he receive the same treatment? I do feel the people against this as it seems like we keep seeing the same faces fighting for the lw belt..Comment -

#11Mr. Smooth has a plethora of top contenders waiting for a shot at the title. The Answer wants to prove he has the answer badly and that he just forgot to carry the 1's in his equation during last fight. Of course there are contenders who want to Bully the smoothness out of Henderson as well. Then there are those who feel that come Showtime they can pull of a smooth victory over the champ. We also can't forget some new challengers like those wanting to bring down 209 Stockton slaps all over the champ's smooth face. Some could even argue that despite all the Bud Lights in the center of the Octagon it is in fact Miller time.
Whatever happens we can only hope the results are half as awesome as a good old fashion BK Big Country victory belly rubdown.Comment -

#16I assume he's now probably gonna get the winner of Miller vs. Diaz. The potential of Pettis vs Diaz for a title shot is pretty sick. I'd probably prefer watching that fight over Pettis vs. Henderson.Comment -

really wanted to see Diaz Henderson
oh well...now Hendo can finally shut Edgar and all this so called "controversy" up when he KOs him this time around. Frankie is going to need to pack his gloves with plaster to even hurt Henderson.Comment -

#23What are the odds of this going the distance again and it not being somewhat close? What if Frankie gets the nod this time and there are tons of people who feel like Bendo won? Then what? Does Bendo get a rematch too? I mean this act is getting old! Pisses me offComment -

#25Naturally someone won and naturally there needs to be a next fight for both the winner and the loser. In this case Dana White sat down and thought about it. He decided the best way to make money is to make that rematch happen. Who are we to complain if what makes the UFC more money is also highly entertaining for us?
In fights there are winners and there are losers... unless of course it's a draw then it's a matter of philosophy.Comment -

#26Who are we to complain? We are the consumers... the people that keep the UFC in business. We have every right to complain. I spend my hard earned money on the UFC and if I think something is BS I will more than happily voice my opinion. This is a dumb idea... most people would agree.
However I'm thinking this will headline a FOX card which I'm cool with... I'm almost certain the Pettis/Henderson would have been on FOX if that match was made, but I'm a little less certain with this fight. It should be on FOX though.Comment -

#27So if Edgar wins, Benson gets a re-match?
The division has somewhat cleaned itself up, but enough with the immediate re-matches! The fight wasn't as close as the scores indicated, move on.
I'd rather see Pettis 2, or Nate get bumped first.Comment -

#30good, the rematch is gonna happen. i never did like the ufc trying to push edgar to a fight with jose. total disrespect to edgar. usually people drop down a weight class after at least a couple of losses. edgar has defended the belt 3 times after a long career at lightweight. a decision loss and suddenly he's not good enough for lightweight?Comment -

#32I was a bit surprised by this. From a business standpoint, I figured they'd cash in on Pettis vs. Henderson while they can. Pettis is fresh off a solid KO and the victory over Henderson is about to get stale. I really think there is a good chance Pettis won't be fighting Henderson for the title anytime soon as I see guys like Maynard and Jim Miller possibly being a spoiler for him. Bad business move IMO, but I think it makes sense from a "fair" standpoint. Edgar has given rematches and Pettis's resume in the UFC really isn't title shot worthy.Comment -

#34Seriously, why all the arguing, the right thing for all of us probably was for Edgar to win some other fight and then get his rematch, but in reality, the rematch will sell like hot bread on a sunday morning, so of course it's gonna happen before that! Dana loves him some PPVsComment -
