    STEVER FORBES over Kurtis Mayfield?
THis is the only 'good' footage I could find on Mayfield so maybe I'm misjudging him but...

... he doesnt seem very good...

He doesnt even bring his punches all the way back, he sticks his chin straight out like an amatuer, and throws very wild (albeit strong) punches.

Nothing on his resume shows me that he is ready for a guy like Steve Forbes. Forbes is OBVIOUSLY very over the hill, but at 147 he has fought guys like Berto and De La Hoya (albeit 3 years ago) to wide decision losses where he was never embarassed or badly hurt.

I could see Mayfield using his youth to kind of outwork and outmuscle forbes, but a veteran like Forbes who used to be SUCH a solid fighter, I just see Forbes taking him apart with counter shots.

The odds are so close because Mayfield helped guys like Pacquiao and Hatton spar for fights, but as we all know Sparring is an entirely different game.

    Thoughts?

yea. Forbes showed every imaginable sign of a completely shot fighter. He even threw counter shots like a few seconds after the opening had closed.

I love forbes and used to LOVE to watch the guy fight when he was towards his peak. Even in the De La Hoya fight he gave a great account of himself in spots.

Sad to see him like this. Hope he hangs em up real soon.

he was one clever little mofo...i remember him getting into a flat out war with carlos hernandez around 8/10 years ago...one of the best fights i`ve ever seen....he lost a tech decision(i had him ahead at the time of stoppage...he was beating hernandez at his own game,imo).....

          it is time to go....

btw...was talked into an under 7.5 wager at +210 in guerrero/brewer....on the assumption that guerrero moving down from middle would just be too much....

talk about stepping in shit and coming out smelling like a rose.......they say that god protects fools and children...

            hahaha

I was actually seconds away from throwing about 75% of my entire bookmaker account on Guerrero to straght win, in order offset the payout charge Bookmaker now forces on you. I don't know why I didnt, but holy shit thank god I didnt haha.

PS: With about 30 seconds to go in the round, I thought the stoppage was a tad premature
