Dong knew the knee was coming to his temple, he had his hand touchin the floor when Diaz motioned to throw the knee and obviously it's going to be a knee-jerk reaction to lift your hand up when someone is kneeing u in the face. Was still technically a foul IMO even tho his finger probly was a millimetre from the floor when the knee landed. Nonetheless, as Rogan said it's a stupid rule anyway.

It was a smart move...for once the Asian guy uses his brain and uses the rules to his advantage...

ha! nope try again. If you think that wrestlers have an advantage now, you should see the kind of advantage they would have with knees and head butts. Pure domination. The fighters who would be hurt the most are the BJJ players without decent wrestling (like the most recent Grispi fight).

my feed must have cut out the part where Dong was knocked out cold and lying on the floor. Anybody have a gif of that

And fancy that another selective rule, terrible when Diaz is throwing the knees but fantastic when Diaz is diving for leg locks and knee bars and Dong is in perfect position to land gruesome knees to the face (think Mach vs Aoki).

ha yeah, I dont think he was hurt from it, he knew what he was doing and was clearly and quite intelligently using the time to get some of his breath back.

Rogan also also mentioned that Nick Lentz may be ahead on the score cards over Tyson Griffin in their recent fight and he was right even though Tyson Griffin clearly won that fight.

Also, the Fight Metric stats do not lie: http://blog.fightmetric.com/2011/01/...tatistics.html

Moreover, all three analysts on Sherdog's play by play including the widely respected Jordan Breen scored the fight (29-28 Diaz).

diaz is too comfortable on his back. the problem with that is that in the current mma judging system, he's basically giving up points.

He deserves to be comfortable on his back because he has a very good guard. The problem isn't the judging system it's the judges themselves weighing take downs and holding top too heavily. Diaz should work on his wresting and take down defense but he should not have to change his fighting style because the judges are incompetent.

Stats mean nothing if most of the fight is on the ground...Stun Gun was on top the 1st two rounds...regardless of how you look at it, Stun Gun won two out of three...

I agree that an active guard should be given more credit by the judges, but the question is, how much is enough to warrant giving the guy the nod? Wrestlers don't get points for failed takedown attempts, why should BJJ guys score points for failed submission attempts? It's certainly debatable.
