just watched the post-confrence and prelims.
Diaz definitely took it too markham. Markhams laynpray was no match for diaz. Im 8 for 8 on the last 8 fights for the diaz bros(5 for 5 on nate). 170 is full of wrestlers and grapplers so ill be going heavy against nate soon enough. He is at the mercy of the matchmaker really. Nick came into the cage and got a lot of love from the crowd, wish they would have shown dana's face.
Almeida looked good against brown. Almeida is about to go on a tear at 170. I would not take almeida over GSP but, there were atleast two moments last night where hardy threanted submission, and GSP would not shrug almeida off so easily. If people want to see GSP fight a different fight(a lot of bitching over the main event) this could be the matchup if almeida gets there soon enough. Its very likely too me GSP would rather outstrike almeida on his feet and sprawl, then risk the ground game. im thinking the same thing. Just put a little on it. I got some big plans for the rest of the card. I also like torres a lot and im still salty about the judges decision from his last fight. disappointing night, had a good chance to win a lot more but torres didnt come through. I look forward to seeing the fight, sounds like torres controlled the first round, even though two judges gave it too volkmann. Of course tibau did his thing, that was an easy one.

well i was right about volkmanns striking. Torres pulled a thiago silva vs evans. He had volkmann hurt bad against the cage in the second round and just let him off the hook. He went for a takedown instead of continuing to batter the hell out of him. As he went for the takedown his corner yelled no but torres already had a doubleleg secured but he stood still and let volkmann off the fence. Volkmann recovered his senses and took torres back and that was the end of round 2, turned into a grappling match.
And i dont see how the judges could have gave round 1 to volkmann. It started with torres getting a takedown, turned into a grappling match with volkmann getting the better at first then torres. They reset, torres lands punches and notches up 2 more takedowns, round ends with volkmann eating elbows. Volkmann spent the last 1:58 of round 1 on his back, the last minute eating punches and elbows.Comment -
just watch mario/harris fight, that was a very close one. Mario got a little too confident after he hurt harris. Mario got a tough chin though, he took some heavy shots from harris but never was ko'd. Even as the ref was ending the fight due to strikes, mario was trying to grab harris's leg.Comment -
