I'm liking woodley here. I love his stamina and see him winning decision. He's hard to knock out too.

Very different style matchup imo but I'm hoping for the same result. Won big on Usman (as always) in that fight.

It will look just like Usman IMO footwork wise......cut off the cage....no running for Woodley......burn however will not resort to the takedown......square him up attack ect......decision is VERY possible as well......Woodley only chance IMO is the 1 shot KO....

^^Twood is quicker and better standing and has better wrestling.. Hard to play Burns here.. I got Twood by KO myself. I think he cracks Burns in this one.

For what it's worth, these fights are going to be happening in a smaller cage (25 ft) compared to the normal cage size of 30 feet.
More stoppages?
Favors grapplers/wrestlers?

that ginger Spike Carlyle looked impressive in his debut and he trains out here in San Diego...He is getting a decent price I'll probably throw a few shekels on him..

I agree jibby, he may have fought bad against usman but i don't see burns takes him down that easy and holds top position every round.

I was debating it as well.....he is a 145er fighting catch at 150 vs a 155er is only reason I have not pulled the trigger...

Also-Woodley is 38.....if he was 33 id be taking him, but he is not.....he is not in his prime like burns.....I mean 5 -6 years ago TW was taking heads off chopping down legs.....he is now circling and point fighting IMO....fact he blew his $ IS a motivator though...

I guess I missed it, how did he blow his money? Or are you saying he missed out on his opportunities for big money fights?

no he literally thought he was FMM and blew his cash.....guy is almost broke....I bought, like, seven cars and, f*cking, two houses and all these trips. And nobody ever lifted a f*cking hand when we was at a restaurant, 10-15 people went to dinner. And I was going to VIP clubs and all this sh*t, like, every other week. And I just imagined making that amount of money for a very long time. And they very quickly said, ‘Poof!’ Damn! I’m on it like, ‘You gonna tell me, March 3rd, that this is different? It’s not the same?’ And it’s just a lesson learned,” Woodley concluded.

Stephen Thompson saying this did worry me a tad on the main, but he is also a nice guy that wouldn't say anything bad....
“I think it’s a better fight for Tyron, for sure,” Thompson told
. “I think Tyron’s got the better striking, I think he’s got the heavier hands. I think Tyron’s gonna go out there and piece him up, because the guy is re-motivated. I saw him during his last camp and I actually chatted with him and we did an Instagram Live together and the guy is motivated. That’s a guy I would not want to stand up against in this next up-and-coming fight.”

wow never heard about that..kind of surprised, did not think he would ever do that thought he had a good head on his shoulders...I can see how that would motivate him but can't it also work against him? Being desperate could cause him to make a mistake as well and maybe not pull the trigger on something...similar to a gambler or poker player playing above their means and being too conservative perhaps? just thinking out loud here who knows

I agree I think it will be a stand up fight.. Burns has a renewed confidence with this stand up as well..
Either way I see this fight probably ending in a KO either way.. Twood certainly isn't a lock in this fight, I guess Twood could even win on points if he game plans the fight that way, touch and move.
You make a good point though as Twood isn't a spring chicken anymore at age 38.. I gotta consider that as a factor as well.. Shiiit maybe Burns gets the KO then?
This fight just became harder to cap now.. Thanks alot paper ... Burns does hit hard..

Burns is on a nice win streak too Maia (TKO 1), Nelson (UD), Kunchenko (UD), Davis (SUB 2), Aubin-Mercier (UD). TKOing Maia is a big deal imo. Maia has an iron chin.

Yeah I don't like the thread at all. Doesn't tell the start times of the fights or the correct date or anything...

Fighters always pull for the guy they fought.
Stephen Thompson fought Woodley twice.
Thompson never fought Gilbert Burns.
Of course Thompson is pulling for Woodley to win.
