Bellator & Rizin: Japan (also known as Bellator 237: Fedor vs. Rampage) is an upcoming event of a co-promotion for Bellator MMA and Rizin that will take place on December 29, 2019 at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The event will air on Paramount Network and DAZN.

    Background

The event was announced by Bellator on October 9, 2019 and will be the company's debut in Japan. The event will be co-promoted by the Japanese mixed martial arts organization Rizin Fighting Federation. It will feature a heavyweight bout between former Pride FC Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton Jackson.[81]

A 160 lb catchweight bout between former Bellator Lighweight Champion Michael Chandler and former WEC and UFC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson was expected to take place at the event.[82] It would be the rematch from Bellator 165 where Chandler won by Split decision over Henderson to remain the lightweight champion.[83] However, Henderson pulled out on December 5 due to injury. Chandler will now face Sidney Outlaw.[84]

Jarred Brooks on the undercard is a good wrestler. He beat Deiveson Figueiredo 30-27 when they fought back in 2017. Homecooked decision in the outcome.

Jon "Super Saiyan" Tuck also on the undercard.

Shinsho Anzai is a wrestler with a few wins in the UFC. He could be a bit too flat footed to fight someone with the unpredictable movement and speed of MVP.

Wish I was going to this event. Two MMA legends Fedor and Rampage clash and reunite back in Japan like the good old Pride days.

When Ryan Bader fought Cheick Kongo, there was controversy over eye pokes.

Rampage being Kongo's team mate got involved. Bader tried to play it off as if he didn't recognize Rampage because he "got fat" and "ballooned up to super heavyweight".

Rampage vs Fedor is nice and all but Rampage vs Bader could be a fight to make in the future if Page doesn't retire.

Big commotion over Rampage weighing 265.

Casual fans don't know Rampage typically ate himself up to 250 something lbs inbetween fights at 205.

He's only around 5% fatter than normal.

As many said, Rampage may now resemble Darrill Schoonover from TUF who Rampage called "titties".

All favorites should win.. Rampage is fat as shiiit and should gas out fast. Fedor has the glass jaw though, one tap on the chin and he sleeps from Rampage..

Good Bellator card I like it.. I'll be tuning in and betting for sure just for the giggles and kicks. ..

Rampage will be throwing 1 or 2 strikes at a time unless he has Fedor in a vulnerable position. He will try to pace himself and not try to embarrass himself in the event of defeat.

Damn, wish I was still back in Japan. Miss it there and the atmosphere in Saitama Super Arena! This is almost like a UFC card with a 7pm start time. GL to all making bets tonight!

The Hulkster entrance song making the first appearance to the cage. In WWF days this would be the last song played.

You could be right with Rampage. I don't think Fedor can take him down though and I don't think Fedor will knock him out.. Rampage has a SERIOUS punchers chance still even as a fat old man.. Fedor ain't no spring chicken either..

I wonder if he knows almost every character in the story dies after taking that thing off.

The reason why MVP faces so many lesser known fighters.

                                                Nobody wants to fight him.

Rampage had no business being in that Octagon.. Tub of shiiit.. He didn't even train for this fight for a month. It was just a dive and pay day fight.. That was embarrassing..

Rampage must have been more depressed than I thought about his former manager stealing his house and millions of dollars from him to show up looking like that.

GSP also got fukked over by his former manager.

Lots of snakes in this business.

I'm 51 years old and you sign me on to a fight like that I would come in juiced and in shape. I could represent better. That was a joke.. You get that with Bellator and these older fat fighters fighting..

Some just show up for a pay check.. Rampage did just that IMO.. We saw that with Chael Sonnen in a few of his last fights with Bellator..

Makes you think if they got friends and pals to all go to Vegas on his dime and load up against them??? It's free money..

It looked like Rampage took a dive there and then played it off a bit.. He would have got his ass beat regardless but still...

Douglas Lima took MVP down and didn't land a single strike from the top.

MVP's wrist control is straight underrated. Someone should measure the size of MVP's hands, it seems like he's applying a vice grip whenever he grabs a hold of someone's wrist and doesn't want to let it go.
