They only display those metrics when the fighter advancing might be winning the fight.

Because controlling the octagon doesn't win you the cards when all of your TDs get stuffed and you're short and slow in the striking exchanges.

Also, Till was backing up and trapping Wonderboy against the cage where he specifically did not want to be. He didnt throw that much while WB was there, but that's in the effective striking category. Thats pretty obvious octagon control.
