that Jason-Jackson fight reminded me of the single stupidest thing with UFC rules, as currently configured

"downed" should be defined simply, based on "at least one knee"....

a standing fighter, merely leaning over and touching the ground should NOT be considered downed

if the rule were based on having at least one knee down, a standing fighter wanting "protection" from knees would actually have to give up something position-wise by putting a knee down
