Rory's main path to victory is to jab Woodley for 3 rounds. I don't think he's going to get the takedowns and I don't think he's gonna KO him either.

#37He's probably long and technical enough to do just that.. Me thinks Rory could also hurt and wear down Woodley in the clinch exchanges as well..Comment -

#38Didn't have time to check your picks you listed on the Bellator thread for this last UFC event.. How did you fair Ronster? Still on fire?
Mighty Mouse looks unbeatable these days, probably a good bet you made there!!!!.... I'll parlay him up myself if it stays around or under -500.....Comment -

#41Macdonald/Woodley is a fascinating matchup. Rory has a big advantage in skill but Woodley has much more power, speed and, from what I've seen, a better chin. Woodley's key to winning this fight is using strikes and takedowns synergistically, and he knows it. I expect he'll be able to get Rory down but I also expect Rory to be able to get back to his feet relatively quickly. Even without much top time, those takedowns will still score points for Woodley in a fight that very well may have a low level of damage done by either fighter. On the feet, Rory should have an advantage as long as he can keep from getting hit with any of Woodley's bombs. At this point, I think the most likely outcome is Woodley winning a close decision by mixing takedowns with strikes.Comment -

#42Ryan Bader vs Rafael Cav.. This fight seems pretty clear cut to me.. Bader has the wrestling and will probably use it in this fight.. If he doesn't he probably gets dropped.. I gotta go with Bader in this fight.. He's looked pretty solid lately. I don't trust his chin though... Rafael 34 Brazilian won't be able to stop the take downs I think..
Andrei Arlovski vs Brenden Shaub - This is another tricky fight to try and gauge on.. AA has been on a roll, always had good athleticism and take down defense.. Brenden is probably gonna have to slug it out with the original Pit Bull.. Not sure who I like coming out of this one??? Maybe Arlovski by KO just because he's turned it around and fights with confidence now again..
I doubt either of these 2 fights go the distance if I had to guess...Comment -

#45im big on schaub and st preux, they are gonna be my biggest bets since nelson. also gonna be on feijao
.
im surprised to see rory at plus odds but has he ever fought a wrestler like woodley? usually is his wrestling base that allow him to outstrike opponents, without that im not even sure he has the striking advantage, but it is canada so hes gonna be on psycho mode or somethingComment -

#48Does anyone think that Arlovski has any chance against Schaub? I kind of like Arlovski, but I think he should quit MMA before he gets seriously hurt. He has a glass chin these days. He's lost to every elite fighter he's faced for the last 5 years, and only beaten cans. Now he's fighting a dangerous, younger fighter with knockout power. I'm betting on Schaub.Comment -

#49Feijao had success against the wrestling of King Mo, so it's not a given that Bader can outwrestle him for 3 rounds. It's also unknown what kind of cardio Feijao will bring into this fight, as he looked horrible in that regard against Thiago Silva. I really can't make a prediction for this one.Comment -

That fight did take place 4 years ago.. Mo was a little more raw back then.. It went the distance too... Hmmm?
The more I look at the fight record....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafael_Cavalcante... the more I see the only way he's been beat is by punches and KO's.. Perhaps he really is immune to good wrestlers...
Skel you absolutely changed my mind on this fight... THANKS.. Good chance Ryan Bader gets KTFO standing in this one... Bader does have a small head to go along with a suspect chin at times..
Even with that being said Bader has been on a pretty good roll of late so I'm NOT gonna have a big play on this fight either way...Comment -

AA has pretty good boxing as long as he doesn't get careless.. His chin has been holding up lately too in his recent fights which is a shocker...
We've also seen Brenden Schaub dropped before and out cold... Roy Nelson, Big Nog and Rothwell put him out.. Schaub hasn't exactly been knocking people out either with regularity.. http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Brendan-Schaub-33926Comment -

#55^^ LOL...
I'd say Brenden Schaub got KO'd by Ben Rothwell and Roy Nelson because those guys are big tough guys with granite jaws whom are more then willing to take one to give one.. Big Nog dropping him makes me scratch my head though? If Big Nog can drop Brenden then it's safe to say AA can too..
Another tough fight to bet on, either guy could get blasted in this fight.. Still leaning towards AA...Comment -

#57Bleacher report final short break downs of each fight in this event.. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...174-fight-card
Bleacher report coverage of the UFC events are pretty solid for the most part... The writers stick to the facts and basics with short reads..
I like that anyways as a starting point when trying handicap these fights..Comment -

#61Tough fights indeed. I like Feijao and Schaub. The Rory/Wood fight is hard read for me. Gut feeling would be Rory wins, but I have maybe been underestimating Woodley's improvement and still overrating Rory since he was maybe still is the next Canadian poster boy.Comment -

#67Haha jason reinhardt also said no lightweight trains harder! Chickenhead's speech towards end of fighter and the kid podcast yesterday was pretty funny. Went all serious and was going off about how he has as good cardio as cain and cain is a great matchup for him! I like Big Brown but it would be quite funny if Arlovski KO's him in opening monute!Comment -

#70Brittney Palmer battling through training camp injury to stay on 174 card....what a warrior
Brittney Palmer won't let a fractured wrist keep her from ring girl duties at UFC 174 in Vancouver later this month -- refusing doctors orders to wear a cast because ... well ... it's not hot.
Brittney says she was riding her skateboard through the Hollywood Hills last week and crashed hard -- fracturing her wrist in the process.
An orthopedic surgeon wanted to put the wrist in a hard cast -- and that's when Brittney put her foot down, telling the doc it simply wasn't gonna happen.
And why not? Simple ... Brit's gotta hold the cards at 174 and doesn't want a clunky cast on her arm to clash with her tiny bikini.
Or as she puts it, "No one wants to see an octagon girl sporting a dorky cast."
Doctors ... never considering the hotness factor.
