Report: A's Loaiza arrested for DUI, reckless driving
He's lucky nobody got injured going that fast.

OAKLAND -- Oakland A's pitcher Esteban Loaiza was arrested on DUI charges early Wednesday after driving his Ferrari in excess of 120 mph, the Oakland Tribune reported.

Loaiza, 34, was pulled over about 3:30 a.m. on northbound Highway 238 near San Lorenzo when he was stopped, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.

Loaiza was arrested for reckless driving and driving under the influence when he failed a Breathalyzer test, CHP Officer Mike Wright said. Loaiza still was scheduled to start the series finale Thursday against the Seattle Mariners.

Loaiza, who signed a three-year, $21 million contract with the A's in November, spent the night at North County Jail and likely will face steep fines and probation because of the combined charges, Wright said.

"He is very fortunate nobody got hurt,'' Wright said.

A's assistant general manager David Forst said the A's are aware of the incident but declined to comment further.

The 10-year veteran signed with Oakland as a free agent after playing in 2005 with the Washington Nationals.

na..., he would never stand out driving his Ferrari in excess of 120 mph at 3:30 in the morning.

if your blitzed while your driving. common sense tells you to at least go exceed the speed limits.

Does this mean he's gonna have a good outing today? Do pitchers pitch better with hangovers?

Hey now....those are illegal. Baseball players don't take illegal substances. Dan, it's almost like you're saying that this problem isn't cleaned up. I'm gonna call the Bud Selig police in here and give you a talking to.

I am shocked and appalled by your commentary.
