Well we had a short discussion on Haren a couple weeks ago I believe. Haren has shown somewhat of a history of slowing down but in every case his BAbip blew up. And it's happening again this year. I can't really say if the inflated BAbip is part of him slowing down or partly the reason. I can say that this would be more of a trend, and more alarming, if his BAbip did not rise so much.
As for Webb, the guy has pitched lights out all year. Even the best pitchers, in their best years, have off games. I would imagine it's impossible to have your best, or above-average stuff, every fifth day."Things happen for a reason, they say, but I say there's a reason things happen"

but i think its becoming clear that haren is slowing down
i still think he is no worse then lowe

for some reason haren is allowing about 10 hits per start, he walks nobody, allows no homers, but the hits are falling

That's what I'm saying. It's hard for me to know if the high BAbip (hits falling in) is because his stuff isn't as good (arm fatigue?), or he's going through an unlucky patch. i think he is tiring, and i watch most dbacks games, probably my 2nd fave natl league team after the phils
and i am worried about that team, if webb is tiring, and i dont think he is, then we have trouble

I would say that hes either wearing down a little or his delivery is out of whack. He has a funky delivery that is deceptive when he is on. I havent watched his last few outings, so just throwing it out there.Comment -
I'm staying away from the game because I don't know what to think of Haren right now. Normally I would be playing the DBacks because I think they are the better team with the better SP, if only slightly. And the DBacks feast on finesse ground ball pitchers, although Lowe is no ordinary pitcher. And the fact that I believe Lowe is underrated based on his surface stats further makes this a no play for me. It's possible to look up if his arm slot has been inconsistent, pitch speeds down, and pitch movement less, but I am lazy and short on time right now
