        Actually, I don't think it's bad because they have nothing to lose. If he returns to his form of last year, it is definitely a good deal. If he struggles, they didn't give up much to get him anyway.

        I think Blanton is a good risk because he is better than his numbers, and pitching in the NL should only help.

              Well, the Phils may have been good enough to win the division even before this trade. Thus, they didn't want to trade any key players to get that front line stud pitcher, opting to go the cheap route. I can't say that I blame them really.
