That line has moved quite a bit throughout the day.

I'd probably most likely chose Pags to jack off too.

You know it's not your day when the opposition pitcher hits a home run.
Your only hope now is Izzy coming on to close.

I can't wait to watch bullpen shenanigans all year.

Looks like if I bet my Cards again I should stick with the 1st 5inn line so there is no worrying about closing the deal. I didn't witness today's game but its been a bit since I've seen Izzy struggle like yesterday. He typically makes things more interesting than they should be but usually comes through. The bullpen was so good the first 4 games of the year and have now laid an egg in the last 3.

At least two games today were decided by pitchers' RBIs. Mulder hit a 2-run HR in a 2-run win, and John Thomson hit a 2-RBI double in a 2-run win.

I rag on Dusty Baker for ending pitchers careers in Chicago for letting them throw 150 pitches a game but after yesterday's debacle I might have let Mulder go another batter and see if he gets out of it. Finished with only 97 pitches. Then again thats probably one reason why I'm a software engineer and not a MLB Manager. I do appreciate LaRussa's mentality of showing confidence in pitchers by going right back to the ones that just screwed up....it just makes ya a bit nervous.

Yep, I'm still trying to figure out why Carpenter came out the other day when the Cards were up 2-0 against the Cubs after the 6th.

He was close to 100 pitches I believe and reported some back stiffness the day before...here's a blurb from the STL Today:
Besides, the Cardinals had some anxiety over Carpenter before the game. He complained of a stiff back Thursday, and his availability to pitch Saturday was in doubt as he walked into Wrigley. La Russa and pitching coach Dave Duncan put Sidney Ponson on notice: Get ready to start.
Carpenter would have none of that. He got loose, had an encouraging warm-up and pronounced himself fit. The cold weather wasn't the best thing for a cranky back, but Carpenter heated up after a problematic 22-pitch first inning.
