Boston inks Jenks

Good move for the Red Sox, I like it assuming Jenks is healthy. Fairly cheap for a guy with 'closer stuff,' $12 million for two years, good insurance if Papelbon gets hurt and Bard isn't ready to assume the role.

I agree, good pickup. He's better than some scrub like Ramirez. I would be comfortable with one more reliever like Fuentes or Crain.

So far this offseason Boston has by far been the most aggressive. It seems like they have been able to sign just about every player they went after. The good news for Yankees fans is that even if Boston is as good for real as they are on paper, the Yanks should be able to win the Wildcard again with the Rays most likely going back to being out of contention.

Jenks is certainly on the decline, but the price was right.
I doubt Jenks would have taken that money in Toronto or Seattle.

I am not a huge Jenks fan at all. Seem too many times his implosion that leads to blown saves and wagers.
